  • A little detail that says a lot about the devs. The compressor UI and display is absolutely brilliant. In just a tiny bar space you can see just what the compressor is doing. Its great!. I’d like this on every compressor.

Honestly, this looks more interesting (and more usable) to me than both Synthmaster synths combined.

    ButterSynth is hugely massive!.
In synths I’m pretty much a noob. I know the basics and love to fiddle around. Surprisingly, despite the sheer amount of functionality included, ButterSynth is actually very easy to operate. Other synths have “creative” labeling, routing or ways to modulate, etc… specially when emulating hardware analog synths.
In contrast ButterSynth seems to follow the basics of synthesis in a very clear and unobtrusive way. You choose what makes the sound, then you shape that sound, how to modulate it… it’s all clear and logical. Don’t feel lost at all. So it seems to me like an excellent synth for newcomers and people wanting to get into how synths work. Everything’s clearly labeled and you know exactly what you’re doing.

If the dev is watching this… it’d be a handy feature to long press on a knob and have the option to set up a modulation source/destination, would be user-friendly and intuitive.

Long pressing any control already lets you add a modulator or midi learn/unlearn for that control.

How the f### didn’t I see that?. I’m pretty sure I tried!. That’s the fastest feature implementation ever, I’m glad I asked 🙃👍
    This synth is seriously good.
Just to make sure I’m not screwing up again… is the preset menu system working for you?. It’s a mess in my beta….

It’s very usable. Like I said, it’s very “academic”. Everything is where it should be.
Did I mention the fx are great?.

Same preset weirdness for me. If anyone solves this, holler!

  • Is this iPad only? Or iPhone as well?

  • It's iPad only.

    Thanks. Shame

  • I like the fact that the virtual modulation wheel of Butter Synth shows a green dot when SOURCE of MATRIX has Mod Wheel.

  • When will we ordinary boys with paying be allowed etc?

preset browser is fixed in latest build. There is also a modulation visualisation toggle in the global settings (cog in top-right).

beta testers and dev working hard to get all bugs squashed. paying customers shouldn’t have much longer to wait. It’ll be totally worth waiting for.

    ;)

Gonna be fun to check out...

Is it already possible to change any of the oscillator types so we could for example have 4 sample layers or maybe 2FM and 2 Sample if we wanted to? (This would more than likely 'sell it' to me).

    Cheers!

  • I have a funny feeling Butter Synth will be dropping soon finally. Personally this looks more interesting than Twin3.

It’s not imo (and I’m pretty lukewarm about Twin 3). But I think you can Test Flight it and see right now for yourself if you’d like.

Never tried the FabFilter stuff (yet lol), but I’ve been on the beta for butter synth for a good while and I really really like it.

    The "Buttah Beta" you say?

  • Very close now. Website updated and a tweet yesterday saying coming soon

    https://www.kirnuarp.com/#

  • Great news! I’ve been waiting for this one forever!

  • The preorder is available: https://apps.apple.com/nz/app/buttersynth/id1497419006 (I’m in Aotearoa, but the source indicated preorder is available in U.S, so I presume other territories too).

  • Says expected on 28th April in the App Store in England

    Is this a reduced sale?

Definitely worth the money, I’ve been using the beta for months.

If you need Serum alternative on iOS then it is worth even more. Sound designer’s dream, for me best sounding synth on iOS with actually super intuitive UI and incredible amount of modulation posibilities. Some details are not obvious at first look or for not experienced sound designers but..

I was waiting for years for such synth on iOS..

Wait for Jakob Haq review, should go out very soon …

Gotta echo everyone else here, it’s well worth the money. I’m surprised it’s that low honestly. I’ve been on the beta for long while and I can really see this becoming one of the best synths on iOS, if not the best.

Agreed. I think it’s gonna go down as one of the best synths on iOS.
