Decent Sampler DS
So what are people take on this new AU sample based app.
Money making machine?
Or is it useful?
Having fun with the free Dave Choir pack anyhow used ChordBud with it.
It does seem a bit rough around the edges at present.

I think if the sound quality of the free Glockenspiel and ‘Dave Choir’ are anything to go by, though, the dev is being ambitious asking a tenner a throw for the paid-for sounds on offer. I’d happily chip in 99p or even £1.99 each, mind. To coin a phrase, stick to the free stuff, and it is certainly good, for nothing.
Don’t forget there’s also a free built-in piano sound. Just tap on “FILE...” in the upper right hand corner of the appwindow and choose “default”.

Just saw this on store. You get the Dave Choir for free. Interested to see where this app goes.
After I downloaded glockenspiel there’s two versions and version one crashes the app and standalone version two works fine
Can you import Sample Files, it has a load button that takes you to Files app, What type of files would work?
Just noticed that “box violin sustains” is also free. And indeed @Poppadocrock
when you load Glockenspiel V1 and then Glockenspiel V2 the app crashes. But
when you open two channels in AUM with DecentSampler you can load them
just fine. V1 sounds brighter, V2 softer. And “box violin sustains” sounds great.
Do try the “Dynamics” control. You get a very nice ensemble effect doing so.

The website with the same name, by the same person, has several instruments available to download for free and it says they all work with Kontakt, and some say Ableton and SFZ. I wonder if they work in the DS app?

Packet price point too high for us iOS poor boys I suspect...guessing the market will show them this and the 9..99 will be at least in half by Christmas...
I found a bug that when I play an instrument sometime it does mix the selected sound with the one from the previous patch eventually used before.
Anyone?
As for the sounds they are really dope but 9.99 is really overpriced for iOS standard. I wrote to Dave on FB that we are poor:-) Hope he will go for the half price so I can buy them all:-)

the ukulele makes the app crash when you re open aum
Started a bit flaky - constant crashes in standalone, but reinstalled and seems ok...
You seem to need to allow a little time for the ukele to load - up to 20 seconds.
@enkaytee that too ! but the app is also crashing when i re-open AUM. ( like it used to do with the glockenspiel before the update )
Name and icon of this app is legendary in a specific way
However I got all iAPs that are free and beside that the guitar and the violin 🎻 ensemble.

Proprietary format for sample packs, but basically a folder of sample files plus a dspreset file in XML format to tell the app what to do with the samples. XML file internals described on the website, so home rolled sample packs should be possible.
