Not a GarageBand user but just did a quick test. Added it as an AU, opened up the App, pressed the Arp button, hit a few chords then pressed record. Worked absolutely fine and the recording sounded perfect.
Maybe try rebooting you're iPad and if that doesn't resolve it contact @4Pockets, assuming all your other plugins work fine in GarageBand.
Thanks charalew Your process is exactly mine ,except as soon as GB is recording the audio is mute ,however there is data on the recorded track but it is inaudible,-strange all my plugins are working fine . Did a reboot as suggested,no joy ,so @4 pockets may be the answer. Still curious that it can’t be chained in AudioBus or again am I missing something. greenie
Can u show a screenshot of what you see when u try to load it in Audiobus?
Sure !
Thank you. Yes I have and love tonality, on beta too. But this app is still really interesting to me. I think I’m going to grab it, thank you for your help.
I rarely use AB, but I'm pretty sure the problem here is you are looking in the audio section. This app is midi!
Gavinski. Actually it’s both Audio And MIDI it just showed up a few minutes ago AudioBus 3 ,so great ,I’m on my way. greenie
Since it holds Soundfonts and plays them, you could send midi in and use the SoundFonts via Strummer as the audio. I think.
Yes, Paul finally sent me a code for this, I'm playing now and see that it does audio too. It's pretty cool for sure 😎
Is there a way to automate chord changes in either this, or the corresponding module in nurack? I’ve been trying in nurack but not figured it out yet...
Song mode is best for changing chords. @Krupa Scroll down to find it.
I guess that’s in the standalone but not nurack - I was thinking that I could perhaps sequence them in nurack with the pattern module, thanks though
Edit: I found that midi notes sent to nurack will change the chord (C2 and up)... now to investigate changing the arp pattern too 😆
/makes note in file etc.
Would that be “Vini Reilly in a very thin box”?
I love his playing, and have been shamelessly stealing from him for years.
Did I read wrong that this has a random arp generator? I'm only seeing a dozen arp patterns or so on here

Hi all , I have been in contact with Paul the developer and he confirmed that he is already working on some updates for MidiStrummer, including one of my feature requests for a muted strum down option and a mute button for individual strings.
An option to sequence velocity and octave would be great.
Just bought it. I haven't played with it yet, but I'm hopeful that this can be an AUv3 replacement for the fantastic Guitarism.
The developer Paul, also mentioned that he will look into implementing custom chords as a feature.
How did you get in touch? There's a question I'd like to ask about Chameleon
support @ 4pockets.com is the official email address.
Thanks wim - will give that a try
It seems you can only enter chords in song mode if they have already been added to the list of chords up beside the arp section. That's a bit of an awkward workflow. Wondering why there isn't the possibility to easily enter any chord you want directly into the song mode sequencer. I must surely be missing something?
You can email, I’d do that, but he is also responsive on YouTube, via comments on his videos, or live chats.
Sure, he's very busy though, I'm just checking here first that I'm not missing sth, thanks tho @Poppadocrock
True
I'm feeding midi from chordbud into a midi fx instance of Strummer, pressing arp in Strummer, and sending the midi from this into ravenscroft. Weird thing is that ravenscroft is outputting both the chords and the arp sounds when it should be just doing the arp. Any thoughts?
I also notice that if I try to just send notes from a keyboard through Strummer, it is passing those notes through, and when the arp is on, the arp is not processing those notes received from the keyboard. The arp is just outputting the notes in the chord chart to the left of the arp section. So am I right in thinking that this doesn't actually process external midi input properly, the way RhythmBud does, for example?
