Thanks Roland and thanks Stagelight:

for me it's quite buggy. since i activated floating windows the user interface is not responding anymore.
so you might want to wait for some fixes before updating.
The new synth is quite CPU heavy, at least on my ancient iPad Air 2...
...but I don't mind I can always freeze
do i have to buy the v2 unlock, even if i bought the unlock for version 1?
Of course you do. That's why it's called v2 ! There is a discount too.
@nuno_agogo Roland are using the same buy model that most desktop DAW manufacturers use ie Ableton Live, Cubase etc. Every time they release a full number new version you pay for the upgrade. Been like that on the desktop front for years.
would like to know what exactly will be the gain of this unlock. ZC1 and the chorus do not tempt me to press the button, yet.
Yep!.... Been the same right from the beginning here in the Cypriot iTunes store when Roland bought up Stagelight fellas.. Even now when i checked.. I can get it on Windows PC, but not on iOS or Android funny enny enough?... & I have a Roland Cloud account... F@$K 'em!..
@SoundForMore awesome work as always.
Here’s a little groove i made using the new Zenology, Zencore Zen synth thingy for all tracks with exception of drums:

We do get for free ZenBeats improvements which was unexpected . I thought they'll release separate app.
If you don't like ZC1 there is no need for the new unlock. Some info here

For me the pricing on this is totally confusing, why can't they just lay it out clearly in a press release? That and the relationships between Zenbeats and Roland Cloud and Roland Backstage - I signed up for that for Zenbeats V1, it's not clear whether that is a Roland Cloud account or something different.
Anyway, beyond complaining, what I've discovered is that Roland Cloud does apparently have a free 30 day trial, which includes the Zenbeats Ultimate Unlock (for the period of the trial) as well as all the features of the 'Ultimate' plan for desktop. Then, as mentioned on the other Zenbeats thread, the 'Core' membership is $29 a year and also includes the Zenbeats Ultimate Unlock. Maybe I've already used my trial when I signed up for Backstage on Zenbeats V1? I will find out when I've got 30 relatively clear days in front of me.
I'm very close to getting a 128GB iPad 8 as things are right now...
...or wait for the iPad Air 4 and loose the headphone jack and gain a bit of CPU.
(Then again I can always jam on my iPhone 8 which has got a bit more juice than my iPad Air 2).
Cheers!
Wondering, from those working with the new synth, @SoundForMore: How much access to the synth params: oscillators lfo etc?
@Littlewoodg What you see if what you get at present. Here’s hoping like Zenology Pro they can open the engine up.
The MFX help spice things up mind.
@SoundForMore Agreed by they are effects rather than Synth Engine manipulation.
i take that back. a couple of restart of zenbeat seemed to solve the issue.
ZC-1 seems to be the same as the non-pro version of Zenology on desktop. Does it have all of the presets and drum sounds of the full Zen-Core engine? I certainly hope that they will release a pro version with full editing capability. And of course it would be ideal if this were available as an AUv3 plugin, rather than being a Zenbeats exclusive.
I tried to push it last night 4 instances with a bit of polyphony and effects using a 1024 buffer and my iPad Air 2 started to grasp for air and making automatic glitch music
This is the first app in a long time that makes me really want to get a faster iPad...
(And well, the next iPad I get better be able to run 10+ instances of Model D & Model 15 with a bunch of Eventide Effects without breaking a sweat and grinding to a crackling halt).
Cheers!
Lack of in-depth editing features on ZC1 is disappointing. Maybe they will release full editing as a “Pro” IAP version. UGH.
Many thanks. I thought it held up pretty nicely with 6 instances of the new synth and plenty of effects. I was trying to make it crackle but i ran out of note ideas 🤪
Instabuy....I can now after the 1.6 update hook the mc707 to the iPad and use zenbeats and the mc707 together wooooooooooooooooooooooooweeeeeeee! The only thing I haven’t bought yet is the overpriced Zenology pro! It will have to unlock it on iOS full engine style for me to say ...take my money again roland lol
Zenology Pro is 229.00 lifetime key... and I will not have a paid roland subscription period. UNLESS they release vsynth as a plug then I’m in.
