That’s the one thing it has taken a bit of criticism for. That the kicks don’t quite, um, kick. Like a mule. Maybe it’s how you tweak ‘em.
Impressed so far, have not sprung for the in app purchase yet. Did a quick play vid
Shit...I purchased it after I installed 14.2> @ChrisG said:
Hi all - can anyone advise if when using DC in AUM as an AU whether it can be synced, started & stopped from an external hardware master clock (but using the patterns from within DC not external midi). I have downloaded the free version but can’t do this & I don’t want to splash out the dosh if it won’t fit in with my workflow.
Seems to work ok in AUv3 mode fwiw. Might just be a stand alone issue.
Thx... I haven’t tried auv3> @echoopera said:
good! i might update then
Not just the kicks - the whole sound engine is flat like a pancake...
(but it‘s cool one can try before buy)
Sugar Bytes already replied to my bugreport of Drum Computer crashing on iPadOS 14.2, they are working on a fix.
'thanks a lot for your report! Yes, we are aware of the problem and we're
already deep in the work to find a fix for that.
At least the AUv3 should work without any problems. Really sorry for the
trouble and thanks for your patience!'
I had to relaunch at least 20 times (lost count) before it loaded...
How is SB overall with updating their apps and adding new features and such? I'm definitely interested in buying DC and possibly Effectrix, but I wanna make sure they're still supported and cared for down the road.
They are usually quick fixing bugs, not so much adding anything substantial to the original idea.
I’ve gotten good kicks. Tweak ‘em! Not finding the sound engine flat either. Lots to play with and learn about how it works. Just scratching the surface! 😎👍🏼

I’m disappointed with the sound...
On paper all SB synths are great, but the sound is so weak and cheesy...
Like this?

Exactly... lack of dynamics, and even though the engine seems powerful, the sound generally is flat.
I had the same dilemma with their Factory synth. Deleted 3 times because of the sound then caved in while on sale, but still can’t find a role for this type of sound (and it is capable of wide range) in my music.
It has multi-out so you can make it sound great. I don't really like any of the presets, but that's usual for a SB app.
I don’t find my sample weak. As far as flat/dynamics I found that at first but after spending some time in the app there is more to work with than I first thought. Seems everyone hears these things differently. I love Factory. Interesting! 😎👍🏼
How the drumcomputer multi-out works in cubasis? It doesn't seems to work at all.
I still have to try on AUM but Cubasis is a no go for multiouts. A shame.
i don’t see multi out for dc but i could be missing it
@Vlad11
Cubasis doesn’t support multichannel AUs. In AUM you can find it under Multi-bus AU instances menu...
Sound does nothing for me either, but didn’t expect it to. I’ve never used a drum synth that sounded great. But the interface and workflow rock. Now if it could load samples...or maybe it can and haven’t found it yet
I don’t believe Cubasis supports multi-out yet. I’ve asked them about it.
I wish the pitch and decay mod sliders in the sequencer were Bipolar. It seems like a massive oversight that you can't decrease those per step, only increase.
The Resynth section of the sound engine loads samples.
Is it just me or do the pads in the mixer flash after the hit has sounded?
This app counts like Nevada poll workers.
Re: flat sound - it's worth paying attention to the "Finalizer" section (kit page) on the master bus which includes a compressor and a maximizer. They're on by default on pretty much every preset.
😀
some sounds will do that, check to see if you have “roll” selected, with that you hold down the pad and it repeatedly triggers the pad on beat so you can just hold it down while you tweak the sound...beats having to keep pushing it
