Export would be a handy feature to offset the cpu load. Something similar to DM1.
Yeah, instacrash 2nd gen 12.9” Pro, 14.2.
Doug demonstrates this (to some confusion) in his YouTube demo. So it looks like recording is currently temporary only. Mods to the actual pattern do stick, however.
Seems to work fine as AUv3 in AudioBus. Stand-alone crashes with SIGABRT, so something's wrong there for sure.
Update 1.0.1 is out..
Quick fix for saving presets after using the REC button on the pads panel.
Timing seems off as AUv3. 4 on the floor kick pattern..lags metronome in AUM and GB
Found this as well. It happens when you have a pattern programmed from the internal sequencer but also when sending midi directly to it. Not sure how this passed testing.
CB3 OK
Sir, this is an Arby’s.
Please explain
Going to dig more into this. Was questioning if shuffle related. Went back to watch Doug’s video and it didn’t seem to be an issue.
Talk about unnecessary posts...
Deleted. Harsh.
I think he’s pissed off about the pricing “lies”.
I don’t see any lies when I read this FAQ: https://audiokitpro.com/appdrops/
But for some reason the limited edition pricing thing really gets under some people’s skin.
The topic has been done to death, and AK isn’t changing their tune. Good on them, I say. But it seems to be immensely irritating for some.
This is out of character for you @tja - take a break dude.
Hah, the crusher on this is unreal, love it. Haven’t come across any issues yet but I just started messing with it
EDIT: hopefully the midi learn comes soon though
just bought drum computer but i do love a 909
i might grab this one as it is universal
Anyway, limited edition business aside, I’m more concerned about the potential timing issues seeing as this is a drum machine and all that. Is there an active beta test crew who can validate it?
It definitely has timing issues. Bad.
I found that with the AU version, setting the buffers manually to match the host gets it closer in AUM. But even then it’s behind the beat. An AU should never need to be adjusted (or even be able to be adjusted) though!
On the brighter side, it seems to be a consistent offset, not jitter, but that’s hard to say for sure. And it’s not the sequencer because it’s off driven by an outside sequencer too.
I’m sure they’ll sort this out. I don’t feel like doing a thorough bug report tonight, but I will tomorrow. In the meantime: ping @analog_matt
Yeah I’m noticing the timing issues as well now after turning on a metronome to compare it with
How do you use advanced step entry? There are no accent or flam settings?
@Nuria advanced step entry allows you to tap multiple times when you enter a beat to adjust the velocity. So that will give you your accents. There seems to be no flam option, unless I’ve missed it, which is a weird omission from a 909! Can also confirm that the timing does seem strange as mentioned earlier - it is definitely behind the beat. Waiting to hear from Matt about that.
@gavinski Thanks! I don't have a 909 but the velocity/accent difference doesn't seem to sound right. Plus no flam is no fun
Good question.
also no pattern chain or song mode?
Yeh.
@analog_matt : I see MIDI Learn is shown as a ‘coming soon’? Does this mean I’ll be able to tweak All The Things via MIDILFOS? It sounds fantastic,, I think.
So I bought this app because I wanted to give AK the benefit of my doubt and see if things had improved with their AUv3 code (despite what anyone may think I really do want them to succeed).
Sadly, this app currently has a serious timing issue (and a few other obvious bugs, DSP issues). Regrettably, all this will do is reinforce the negative view held by many that Audiokit make cheap/fun audio toys, but not serious music plugins.
Did none of the beta testers notice that a drum machine was playing out of sync with the host/metronome? Shame on those lazy testers!
Fingers crossed AK can turn this around.
