  • Yea, the real solution gets to messy I diden’t see it
-drive everything else from the app you DONT record in
    -drive only 909 there

    Such an epic cosmic slop

  • Solution 2,
use 64 steps on a 16 step bar. Place each 4 on the floor on step 15.

Have so many extra steps you accidentally make arty beats

  • The kick was off by 25ms if memory serves right, the other instruments by about 12ms. Sure there are workarounds but at that point you might as well grab some 909 samples and ditch the app.

I busted out the TR-909 SFZ sound font I made for KQ isfizz after not having used it for a long time, and was fairly happy with what I heard. All the samples are dry, so there's none of that AR-909 juiciness built in, but there is a multi-out version that can go a long way with the right FX.

I made this because I found it tedious wading through folders of somewhat cryptic file names to find what fits. The sound font selects the samples based on controls that reflect the settings they were recorded from on the hardware.

    The multi-output defaults to:
    1 - Kick
2 - Snare, Rim, and Hand Clap
    3 - Hats
    4 - Toms
    5 - Cymbal and Ride

But those can be edited in the file right in isfizz if needed.

Switch to the controls tab in isfizz for everything that can be changed either there or by midi CC or by AU parameters.

See the Readme file in the zip for further information. There are other TR classic machines built similarly here: https://github.com/wim-number37/sfz/releases

  • Oh. I forgot to menton, the SFZs are set up for the GM drum map. The note numbers can also be edited in the file either with a text editor or in the isfizz app itself.

  • I don’t mean any offense to the maker of the app btw. AR-909inspired me so much and I’m grateful for it!

I usually automate pitch, decay, and I love the limiter and heat. It sounds cracking. I don’t know that I can manipulate a sampled 909 too much. So I’d rather sob a bit more until i find a synth drum and wait for a 909 to come back visit us again

It’s no real substitute , but I made a not too terrible attempt at a synthesized 909 in Drambo: https://patchstorage.com/tr-nine-o-mine/

Maybe if you mangle it up enough with FX it could be of use. 🤷‍♂️

You can load it in Drambo AUv3 inside Drambo for a full kit in a single track.

I pulled this one out again after a long time, and noticed the tone control on the Kick doesn't work as well as it should. Expanding the rack and increasing the tone knob influence on the LP12 filter from 0.05 to 0.10 fixed that pretty well.

    Same for the snare.

I wonder if something changed in the LP12 filter response since I created this? Maybe it's time for a revised version.

  • If I remember correctly, from previous posts, Matt from Audiokit said the coder for ar909 isn’t available so the app/code can’t be updated. Kinda shit situation for everyone as it should’ve/could’ve been the 909 emulation we’re all waiting for.
It has dragged on for too long.
Personally I think this major fault should’ve been dealt with in beta testing. So obvious , how was it missed ??
It’s too long ago now to even bother with.
New app 909-2 required, to bring all the pissed off 909 fans back into the Audiokit fold.
Wouldn’t it be nice if something proper and working appeared ??

Matt tried like heck to get them to fix it, but wasn't able to. He was as mortified as could be over it.
    It'll never be fixed.

BTW, the coder never worked for AudioKit. They just used the AudioKit framework to build it. The highly unfortunate part was that AudioKit published it under their own name without having full control over the product. That's always ill advised business strategy.

    That'd be great.

  • If all they did was fix the kick I would be happy. B)

  • According to appraven the 909 app from audiokit is gone.
I cann’t find it in the appstore anymore.
    Bought it not long ago.
