@MarkH
Wow. Where TF did u find that to buy? I've been on eBay and it's either scarce and/or crazy expensive.
This may or not be of some use for you.
There is a free template for custom overlays to be found here for the BCR2000.

My game changer?
MiRack
Yesterday I was thinking about the Midi Fighter and I got an idea. What about a typewriter style of computer keyboard as a midi controller? Something like this:
I'm sure someone already asked the question, but how can I turn a computer keyboard as a midi controller for iOS?
Thanks, I'll check it out. I just got some laser-cut ones from Germany. Kind of expensive, but they're a perfect fit!
I don't know of any apps that do this on iOS. You could do it with an Arduino and convert it to a USB MIDI output. There are probably projects that do this. One thing to think about though. Many years ago, back when OS X was still in beta, I wrote a MIDI controller app for OS X that used keyboard and Wacom tablet for inputs. Not all keyboards send all the keys that are pressed. They scan the keys and some keys pressed may block others that are higher up the lines. There are keyboards that will work fine though.
Brilliant.
Look forward to seeing it if you don't mind sharing because
I've been thinking about getting a BCR2000 myself.
The only thing is lack of desktop space so I'm going to need to redesign my music room.
Something planned for next year.
I just happened upon it on eBay and got it for £92
Yes, I am hoping to do some kind of video featuring Animoog, though not sure quite what just yet. The great part about the BCR2000 is it uses encoders as virtual pots, with LEDs to show the positions. This means it can read presets, which pots can't do!
For me, joining the forum...👍
Many of us here have trouble keeping the music-horse in front of the forum-cart; best of luck with that
How are you connecting the iPads to each other?
Drambo will allow for Bluetooth QWERTY keyboards to be used for midi control. There’s also the small numerical keypads which I’m personally interested in.
Of existing software I seem to remember Double Decker being an app that can convert keystrokes to midi.
😂😂😂🐴
I have one of those mini customizable mechanical keyboards. I hope some makes an AU that converts keystrokes into midi commands. On PC, going to set this up with Bome Midi Translator.
For me it's going to be when Drambo can host AUs within it when the update drops in a few weeks. Actual game changer for my music for sure

If Atom 2 drops that could be the one for me.
🤤
Im using these:

Have 2 on both adat connections on my motu828. They are usb powered. Working fine with the powered CCK with or without a hub. I’m also using lightning iPads. I’m fairly certain a pro can power it on its own.
Set them up once on a computer to set the clock rate and apply the firmware, but after that it’s plug and play. No programming involved, firmwares are precompiled.
Using 1 pad as strictly an effects unit with it, so route audio between the iPads just by changing the output in AUM. Takes the load off the main iPad.
Drambo, definitely.
Why? The user interface is what really made a difference to me. miRack is even more powerful in terms of DSP but far less inviting to experiment and it doesn't have that excellent MIDI control and fully integrated, p-lockable sequencer hat Drambo has.
I didn't expect to write songs in it but it just happened.
Second place would be DrumComputer I guess. And re-discovering Korg's Odyssey
Now this is really good to know as I need to integrate
my hardware into my iPad configuration properly.
I was using a Zoom U-44 until recently.
It's preamp blew.
Zoom are sending a replacement so in the interim I got a Komplete Audio 6.
Once the Zoom returns obviously I'll use that for one iPad and the KA 6 for the other.
With the usb-streamer box or even the usb streamer I'll be able to
connect up my old school ADAT machine and use that as AD/DA's
for my external hardware.
The converters are 16 bit and have crunch which will add character to the digital sounds.
I also have a couple of external effects so like your configuration
it will take the pressure of both machines in regards to effects.
Thank you, this is a really good suggestion.
@AlmostAnonymous Cool idea, I didn't know they're class compliant and they'll help me getting more out of these ADAT ports!
Here a shitty screen grab for the idea with only the motu and 1 usbstreamer...

iPad on the left is running instances of turnado (connected via usb streamer), iPad on right is the synths/apps (usb connection to sound card) middle iPad is the mixer for the motu (not connected via adat, just WiFi)
Change output on right iPad to route audio to left iPad, send from there to main outs or back into right iPad. I probably should set them up on aux sends instead of AUM outputs
It’s been easier than creating mixbuses and scrolling and tapping..etc....
I try and touch the iPads as little as possible live, so maybe aux sends would give me less touching (mapped to a control surface)
I quit drunk posting.
Do you get latency problems when routing audio???
and if so what do you use to make the adjustments.
I route audio from one iPad into the other and I have to adjust for latency.
The audio in the receiving iPad is always a little bit ahead of the send iPad.
This has been pretty solid for me. How are you currently routing between?
Holy Poop...
What a cool idea.
From their forum

Would the SUB Streamer pair with this interface
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Series102i--tascam-series-102i-usb-audio-midi-interface
You’re only gonna get audio out of the iPad into that interface, no way to send from interface to iPad via adat with that interface. Same with the Apollo guy in the forum.
So you'd have to have an interface with optical IN and OUT?
Correct. Granted I am just talking about the adat ports. On your original interface, if it’s class compliant, the iPad connected to the USB port will get audio from the one connected to the adat. (I don’t really use a computer in my setups there than recording via AVB, but that’s a whole different can of worms)
