Hello everybody, thank you all for the amazing support, I am feelling a little better everyday, but still very weak. My eyesight is improving slowly and my blood pressure is slowly getting under control, but I will be on medication for that for the rest of my life, my heart has been damaged from the long term high blood pressure, Im going for a scan for that later in may, other damage was done elswhere but all should managable.
I had been ill for a long time and never even knew, I used to get raging headaches, which began too get more and more frequent, then my sight started to go, I was dizzy and disoriented, you cant ignore these symptoms, all of this down to high blood pressure, when I was admitted to hospital it was 247 over another high number, not good. Anyway the official name for what I have is Malignant Hyper Tension. Ive had like a zillion tests to try and find out what caused this and so far theyre not sure, they did say that we may never know.
Again me and Jo would like to thank you all, you have helped us both more than you will ever know and I hope to be back making videos as soon as possible :-)
Blimey Doug, that sounds intense. However being on drugs for the rest of your life is unfortunate, but its a small price to pay for continued life! Very glad to hear you're going to be ultimately ok, and I think I speak for everyone when I say that.

Doug, great to hear that you are doing well! I had a similar situation a few years ago; headaches and such. Finally I went to the hospital and my blood pressure was so high they thought the machine was broken and they checked my bp the old fashion way. Spent the night in the hospital and on meds now. Hypertension is known as "the silent killer". I highly recommend anyone over 40 years old to get their blood pressure checked at least twice a year.

So good to hear from you in person, Doug; not least because it proves you're on the mend. Do keep in touch here, as and when you feel up to it. It won't be long until your condition's under control. For all it's faults, the NHS is an effective safety net for this sort of thing. I guess you're under major pressure to quit smoking now, eh?
