  • Literally just tried the flugelhorn, very very nice sound! I tried to play it through geoshred keyboard but for some reason was not getting pitch bends, probably user error, have not used geoshred to send midi to another app before, do u need to set it up as mpe first?

  • 5 Brass instruments - 4 driven by Riffer and the 5th controlled by Velocity keyboard.
All run through a touch of AudioReverb. CPU on an 2018 9.7" iPad around 97%.

  • I’m in love 🥰

  • I’m ready to buy! 😂

  • I wonder what this will cost because it sounds like a 10 million bucks! I see the desktop complete bundle is over $2k!!!

    At last.

You going to like the "Euphonium" (except they call it a Flugelhorn). There's a Tuba
that in the upper regions actually sounds like a Euphonium. I don't imagine it will do much for you... but you might like the tuba down where your left hand performs that magic.
    (That's sounds creepy).

  • Is the beta only available if one has a SWAM instrument already?

You fill out a form, providing name and email address and they send you an email
to start downloading the TestFlight (if needed) and then the 5 SWAM Brass apps.

Then you have access for standalone and AUv3 testing.

  • Man, that sounds so good @Gavinski

Just curious - is this meant to be played with an mpe controller? I guess you could also use standard midi, at the expense of some expression, right?

    Another test.

    1. One finger AUM keyboard into
    2. Mozaic loaded with @wim's excellent "The Chordulator" into
    3. PolyThemus (which converts chords into MIDI selectable MIDI channels
    4. 4 SWAM instances on channels 1-4 (Trombone, French Horn, Trumpet, Trumpet) into
    5. Parametric EQ into
    6. AdVerb 2 with "Mr Smooth" preset

    ~70% of CPU used

No bugs encountered so far. Lots of parameters to play with and choice of X/Y modifiers like
(Vibrato, Growl, Flutter Tongue, Breath Noise). 1, 1.5 or 2 octave keyboard in the App/AUv3.

There are 4 optional "mutes" to sound like Miles. The subtle pitch drops as so "Birth of the Cool".

As an fyi, on the form, you have to select the name of a product of theirs that you own in order for the form to be accepted.

    @espiegel123 totally open beta!

Nice Tuba in there to show the bottom.

It is MPE but this thing I posted is just Polyphase playing it, so is not MPE and still sounds great, I think. By the way, I am finally getting round to learning polyphase thoroughly today...wow, that app is really something, even better than i had realized.

Well I got nothing to lose by signing up for the beta!

Hmm, just checked out polyphase on the AppStore. Love the interface. Might be a good candidate for Gavinski’s Tutorials. Didn’t you use it like months ago in one of your videos, but it kept crashing? (It was some iaa app you were using, not sure if it was polyphase or not)

  • I have used polyphase in quite a few vids but only in a superficial way. Now that i have examined it more carefully, don’t worry, it will definitely be getting a video, it’s truly brilliant. @aleyas

Managed to use KB-1 MPE mode and Geoshred MPE midi out to control these great instruments. Must say they are quality. Solid built so far no snags in AUM.

  • They sounds really good, maybe better then all the collection that I’ve bought inside Geoshred.

  • I don’t think there is a sound quality difference, do you? @Charlesalbert I would say it is probably more personal taste. Have to say I love the sound of all these brass ones.

  • Signed up, downloaded.

They sound good and that's without the advanced options.

With proper treatment and careful articulation and they will
sound convincing to most except real brass players and the
    most discerning of listeners.

  • Just had a play with the trumpet. Sounds amazing, the only distraction being the breath noise. It's too consistent perhaps?

Trying the trumpet on my studio monitors now.

Yup, agreed on the breath noise and the low notes lack
a certain something other than that no complaints.

In the context of a composition?
I would happily include them as a guide for a real player.

I would also happily use them for a full on ensemble piece.

    They are good.

    Impressive.

  • These look amazing. Holy smokes

  • Wow, that’s a tremendous news.
Just enrolled in the beta program.
I spent nights tweaking my GeoSwam presets. I can’t even figure out how I will do with this standalone app, given the huge amount of options available. Nights will be even shorter 😭

  • I lost thirty minutes with the flugelhorn and my linnstrument. It was as if time disappeared. Way more fun than should be allowed.

I feel you man! I just hope the price will be attainable. I also hope all us beta testers get a discount.

When enrolling the beta program, the introducing letter gives some hints about the pricing (not to be disclosed here publicly if I conform to the terms). Clever choices from @audiomodeling anyway. For these reasons, I think it should be cheaper than desktop versions.

  • Lovin the fluegel and the trombone
