@impete The price of Wotja Pro was €21,99 a few weeks ago, now it's €27,99. Do you plan a new discount?

  • @impete Managed to submit review on 4th attempt!

Not so far as I'm aware, though we often lower prices near to the year end for a short period.

    With best wishes,

    Pete

But, is it so that the price is raised from €21,99 to €27,99 in a few weeks time?

I not aware of any planned price increases in the immediate future, though as with any company, we do review our prices from time to time.

What I asked was, has the price been raised a few weeks ago from €21,99 to €27,99

I think it did go up a small amount. FYI, our actual pricing is in dollars; how that actually gets set in Euros is down to Apple; they change their non-US pricing from time to time as exchange rates change.

    Hoping that clarifies things,

    Pete

It clarifies it, thanks. You call it a small amount, but a raise of 27,5% isn't small.

Our lowest prices for a new product are usually in the first few weeks of the year - something to watch out for in future, I guess!

Strange price policy, never read about a introduction price. It's a nice app but €27,99 is a bit too much for me. I'll stick with the free version.

Nothing strange about it at all; it was a launch discount, which then expired, as is standard practice with the launch of a new app. But don't forget that you can access all the features of the full version except for full AUv3 functionality with a very modestly priced monthly subscription, which you can then cancel if you decide the free version is all you need.

Thanks! The free version will do for me

Just out of interest, don't you find that the automatic stop every few minutes gets in the way a bit?

I have no problem with that. The free version is fine for me. I can do what I want.

  • I find the price entirely reasonable for an extremely capable, mature piece of software.

  • edited March 2021

Price is pretty reasonable especially since it comes with a year of free updates, many of which are quite substantial with the addition of new features, whereas many similarly priced apps don't update often at all, except for bug fixes, so a year filled with new feature updates as part of a permanent license is really a pretty sweet deal.

If you can afford it, yes. But at this moment, I can't :( And of course I want the Pro version, but I have no problem to live with the free version.

  • Our Beta testers are about to get a massive addition to Wotja. It'll be interesting to see what they make of it :)

  • We've been busy working on finishing-off the next release (21.7) and we hope to be able to submit it next week.

Amongst other useful changes there are some totally AWESOME new additions coming in this release.

You can be excited - that's official.

Other developers put teasers like images and videos on the forum to drum up interest in updates. Wouldn't hurt Wotja y'know?

  • @lukesleepwalker that'd spoil the surprise

  • @Charlesalbert @lukesleepwalker I think that we're now coding complete for Wotja 21.7 - and the templates and presets that accompany the cool new features  are pretty much there as well. So we're certain to submit for review next week.

    Hi folks,

With Wotja 21.10.0, we've introduced a lower cost "Pro (Mobile Devices)" Subscription tier for Apple device owners who wish to use 'Pro' mode only on devices running iOS or iPadOS (see In-App Store). This new Tier is cheaper than the subscription price for the 'Pro (All Devices)' subscription.

We know that every dollar (and cent) helps, so we hope some of you find this useful - though we know it won't help everybody (e.g. those who don't like subscriptions!).

  • @impete I can not understand the pricing up&downs. A few days ago the price of the Pro version was €21,99, so I wanted to buy it yesterday. But I was surprised that the price went up to €27,99. A no-go for me.

    Hi @Pierre118

Yeah, we had a special promotion price on for a few weeks. That actually finished a couple of days back. If I'd thought, I'd have mentioned we had a special on this forum - sorry!

Hopefully you might think about the new subscription level, anyhow. That will always be the cheapest way to get it, moving forwards. And, of course, you can always cancel it if you're not going to use it for some time ... and (hopefully!) restart again at some point. So, if you were only to use Wotja 6 months in a year, then that works out pretty cheap compared to the "standalone bundle" version.

August -> December is 5 months. So the price for Wotja 21 this year via that approach would be ... 5 months worth of subscription!

UK price at time of typing this is £1.79 / month - so that is just £8.95 I think!

    Best wishes,

    Pete

  • Note to everybody - the "best" time to buy a new Wotja standalone version is always going to be an "early bird" (pre-release), which we try to make available in December; and there is always special pricing in the first week of January. We do this to help our long-term fans out - it is a thank you in advance for early investment in our year's development work

    Best wishes, Pete
