Is the 19.99$ on the IAP in Drumcomputer the discounted price or?!
it's brilliant for what it is: a re-creation of a Boss RC-ish floor unit tuned for verse-chorus-bridge style looping. and it has basic auv3 hosting, enough to make Quantiloop quite useable as an all-in-one solution for standup live looping with a foot controller.
Haha, yes, that’s the discount price. Normally $26.99 (US) I believe. It does have an incredible sound engine and a quite powerful sequencer, so I finally took the plunge.
Edit: it also has a very good multi-out AUv3 implementation, maybe one of the best I’ve seen in a drum machine.
When you consider the discounted price for DrumComputer for desktop is $79 USD, it makes it sting a little less. 😛
I agree. Even though it's only a 20% (ish) discount, it's an ace plugin. But it's deep; a plugin where you'll really benefit from going through the documentation before diving in. Over time it's become my favourite SB plugin. Everything is so well considered and the sequencer is something I'd love to have as a standalone.
There are two potentially bad things to be aware of. 1.) It's heavy on the CPU, one of the heaviest synth apps on iOS, and 2.) The Finaliser section can crush the life out of otherwise great sounds as it's all too easy to overcook things. But once you get a feel for things this shouldn't be an issue. Plus if you're making use of the AUv3 multi-outs, they bypass the Finaliser section anyway, and then you have a world of other AUv3s to finesse your beats to your heart's content.
It's usually £25.99 GBP so probably more like $29.99? It looks roughly 1/3 off in any case as I've just picked it up for £17.99.
It's the kit randomiser that swung it for me. It seems to generate really usable kits right out the gate. DavidF's DnB presets really showcase this especially - load up one of those, hit Randomise, and it keeps generating winning loops, so I'm happy! And these can be exported directly as audio loops of N bars long, without having to record and then trim. So it's easy to randomise to find something you like, export, and import into whatever. Or save as a preset and use it live. Happy days!!
Would prefer to have more internal FX but I can live with that, with the AUv3 multi-out, as AUM is my main DAW.

@Poppadocrock is doing the Lord’s work with this thread. I linked what I use as a supplement to this thread from reddit that summarizes all the sales in a handy list. I tend to forget apps that I saw a few minutes ago and intended to purchase because a new shiny one popped up and wiped the old one from my thoughts. I can scan this list quickly to ensure I spend every last penny. Apologies to your wallets in advance.
Not similar at all
I take it back, they can do similar things but envolver does all kinds of crazy things too, and you have more ‘programming’ setup to deal with
I’ve held off for years but now going for it, hoping it’s gonna be The One
NS2 IAPs also 50% off. Lots of great presets in those IAPs.
Drambo is a steal at full price
I would like to steal some more
Does Unique actually add anything unique?
Does anyone not have AUM?
Not so much IMO.

I’d say definitely worth it for that price. The iPhone version works on iPad although the interface is only iPhone sized. Has some v fat and funky sounds (especially for bass) à la 80s/90s George Clinton/Zapp/Rick James etc
It's good for quickly dialing in the classic 'beating oscillator' tones, and each osc can be panned separately. Its vowel filter and sequencer are pretty unique. If you plan on using it as an AU plugin on the iPad, just get the iPhone version instead of the more expensive iPad version, since both AUs are essentially the same.
I don't think either one is "better". They are both great apps but which is better for you will depend on your workflow and your preferences on how to do things.
Best bet is to look at 4Pocket's YouTube videos - Paul has done a series of really good short vids on each of those apps and he goes into great detail about what they do and how to do it. I have saved them to hard disk as a kind of video manual and have watched them a few times for ideas and inspiration.
My experience was the opposite - I bought MTR to make perfect loops in AUM and loved using it. Not weird at all for me (I'm an old school reel-to-reel and 4trk Tascam cassette tape guy).
Then Neon came along and I thought I didn't really need it. And Paul kept adding nice new features to Neon and he changed my mind
It's a very well thought out workstation with a fun workflow that resembles hardware a lot.
Obsidian alone is an outstanding synth.
Check out https://patchstorage.com/platform/nanostudio/ for a few sounds contributed by users.
Remember that it does not have classic linear audio tracks, you record audio to Slate's sampler pads and fire them off as clips.
MIDI file import is the best I've seen in any app.
It's $2 - cheaper than a donut
Get the iPhone version and run it in AUM. If you find a couple of patches you can use in a track it is worth it.
No FAC apps on BF sale...?
Or Rob Jackson (the 'Scaper apps) .
Or PageFall (cality, Ioniarics, etc..).
No fac, not yet anyway. Scapers are on sale. Pagefall almost never discounts apps.
Agreed.
I got it last year.
You can get some nice sounded stuff happening
once you play around with the presets
and it resizes quite nicely in AUM on an iPad.
iMini Synthesizer is $6 off down to $3.99

Are the Moog IAPs on sale?
(Model D $1.99 and various prices in Model 15)
Underrated and not often talked about, which is a shame. I wish this would be more successful:
