I think that, on a technical basis, Android is better than iOS. I have never owned any android phones though.
Personally I find your presence, not sure of the right word, maybe inspiring, motivating, something like that. Productive music creation is my goal but I have no motivation.

Thx, I did do that, plus five old fashioned CDs which brings my total with the upcoming LaGrange to forty-one fucking albums... from which I’ve made about forty fucking bucks.

While I just (happily) play around, since somehow PayPal got disconnected from the AppStore a little while after the last Black Friday, no apps were bought at all. Kinda satisfying in its own way. Tons of apps already and I find myself using only a few anyways. This thread is the best btw, get all the free apps without downloading and if ever there’s a bunch to choose from.

I know it seems like a lot of money but it's like collecting 71 studio rack devices for $0.69 each.
As a whole they can replace every single traditional FX app on your IOS device. I'm sure you'll
find 10 of them that are the best in their class and that's worth $5 each. Still, $48 is a leap of faith.
They are also very CPU efficient and a single AUv3 can contain 8 in a rack and you could still create another instance (or 2). There is a wall with AUv3 memory constraints but these FX are DSP/CPU are consume little RAM at run-time.
The collection is $300 on the desktop.

It's so tempting. But I think I pretty much have everything covered already. I mean, is its chorus better than FAC Chorus? The compressor better than Schlap or Magic Death Eye? Or really even different? Oh, no, I feel myself slipping....
It's just faster... you select a compressor from a collection of 5 classics and then select a reverb or delay... and then an EQ... and so on. You'll end up with favorite rigs and save them as a preset to save even more time.
I know I spent $25 on the Magic Death Eye Stereo and maybe $7 on FAC Chorus and more on Fab Filter apps or less on Tone Boosters.
My current headache is the lack of storage on my iPad and the fact that many of the apps I bought are never loaded when I want them. I need a 1TB iPad... and can see that I'd probably prefer a 2TB device if I really go all in on auto-sampling or loop collecting. But 128MB just doesn't work for me anymore. So, an App like this is appreciated. If I use it, it hangs around and gets the job done. The Fab Filter apps tend to roll off my device.
I do wish MixBox CS was universal, tho. That just pushed a lot of you back into sticking with your universal FX tool kits. Magic Death Eye and Tone Boosters can cover a of territory for traditional studio
mixing exercises.
It’s just fun to see them lined up in the rack. Pretty colors! Meanwhile I only use the EQs and Compressors. Lol!
The compressors are the highlight of MixBox, but overall I’d say many of the modules across all the categories are a cut above the average when it comes to iOS FX fare. You’ll certainly get great value at the current offer price.
And if you like to explore presets, there’s lots to learn from the generous amount of included FX chain presets.
It is. And the problem is if IK drops the ball in supporting this in the future you are down $48. If you have a single $8 FX app by an indie developer and they decide not to support it you are only down $8. It is kind of putting all your eggs in one IK basket...

I do have a lot of their hardware devices too. They really made this whole app category work for me over many, many years while we waited for Fab Filter, Overloud, Eventide, Korg, Reason and Roland to drop products into the store.
I do love the independents and their response to users: @brambos, @virsyn, @ddmf, @giku_beepstreet, etc.
Don't know - I'm not a customer of theirs.
My point was more about putting all your eggs in one basket. But if IK has a good track record then maybe that's not such a problem.

I have so many baskets, it's embarrassing. But at IOS prices buying more apps was a great way to
limit my overall spend. It kept me busy and reduced my spend to a couple hundred a month. All the
hardware and software I covet outside of IOS costs 3-5 times as much to keep me occupied.
These $50+ apps require me to really stop and think. But I tend to stop for a day or two and think
"I haven't bought anything else this week so..." . It's the dozens of "little basket" $10 apps that
tend to add up without me even noticing.
I tend to open this thread hoping there's a new $10 toy to investigate. Lately... not much that's made me jump. So, maybe a $70 StaffPad library (on sale no less down from $100) is justifiable.

Yes. I have a basket called "Korg Gadget" that has more than $48 worth of goodies in it. Hopefully Korg will keep it working with future iOS updates.
I use it from time to time and I t works really well. If you’ve got your Mac plugged into the tv and want to sit on the couch, it’s fab. Also quicklaunches apps and websites like Netflix etc.. handy.
And the soundtrack by Berlinist, is exquisite, quite apart from the stunning artwork and storyline!
