Bitwig and FL Studio on desktop. Almost no connection to my iOS apps. Might start to export stems for further work. It has also become easier to tame the timeline because of Gadget conditioning.
Nice to see the answers are quite diverse !
For me, Logic pro on desktop for composing and Loopy Pro on iPad for live gigs or jams. I try to keep the same synths and fx between the 2
AUM and Reaper. Not sure I want to learn anything else at this point.
All iOS here. I usually sketch out ideas in Loopy Pro. Logic iPad for the full production, and Cubasis as a backup. Logic is solid, but can get weird if I use too many auv3’s.
Once Loopy Pro has midi, I will probably stick in there longer, and export stems to Logic for mixing.
iOS: BAM or Drambo
macOS desktop: BAM, Drambo, Logic, Numerology
Linux desktop: Tracktion Waveform Pro.
stopped using Bitwig on desktop because being 10 years old it still does not have proper MIDI export (can't export CC messages).
Cubasis 3 ios and Auria Pro. -but more lately Ntrack ios.
Cubase 13 pro desktop and Bitwig (win 11).
Mee too except I use Waveform Free. I also started using Surge XT and some free FX (Solaris, Super Massive, Stochas) more, so I don't use iOS stuff as much these days...
@FriedTapeworm : Cubasis does a better job of running Auv3 vs Logic Pro, eh?
The only time I feel things are getting 'weird' is when using too many plug-ins that add latency to the signal path which makes real-time performance suffer a bit but things do stay in sync which isn't the case with thing starting with C...
To combat that it's possible to enable low-latency mode during recording which temporarily disables plug-ins causing too much latency.
The 'threshold' for acceptable real-time latency (it's set to 5ms by default) can be set in the settings and that time will be used when enabling low-latency mode...
Oh and to answer the question in the thread topic...
...I'm all in with LogicPro for iPad & LogicPro on the Mac (+ Renoise, SunVox and all the usual and unusual tracker suspects).
On desktop, Samplitude. The best for audio chopping/arranging/mixing etc that I have used/seen. I also use Maschine, but can't really call it a DAW. On iOS... hmmm, well if Maschine isn't a DAW then BM3 isn't either. I would use Cubasis if midi patterns could be cloned, but for now it is more like a timeline library of exported BM3 sessions. But yah, guess I am DAWless on iOS.
I've tried to get into a workflow I like with Logic Pro and Cubasis on iPad, but I don't feel like it's the right approach for me. I've been mainly sticking to Bitwig on desktop for "larger" projects for that reason. I like to use the iOS devices as controllers and/or instruments connected to the desktop.
For iOS-only sessions, I use either AUM or Loopy Pro and I don't make any attempt to coerce them into being a DAW. I find a lot more enjoyment by limiting what I try to do on an iPad or iPhone.
@Samu : Saves the day yet AGAIN! Thanks .

You’re aware of the interaction between Bitwig and studio one , right?
Currently Note and Ableton. Note for ideas on the go and then into Ableton to expand.
The DAWProject format, for sharing projects? I haven't spent any time digging into it, I've been pretty happy with Bitwig...but if I were ever tempted to look at something else, the idea of bringing my projects with me would be a huge plus for Studio One.
i think you mean DAWproject format.
Reaper also supports it, and also Cubase since new shiny version 14.
I didn't know about the DAWproject format—this is incredible news!
Correct
have enjoyed Multitrack-studio crossplatform action, bouncing among 3 machines, iPad, Surface Pro 8, and an old stack running Windows XP
more recently taking advantage of Bitwig now loads Ableton Live projects, exportable from many inspiring iOS apps including iKaossilator etc
Not necessarily better, just more predictable in my experience. Logic has plugin delay compensation, and Cubasis does not, which is a huge win for Logic. I've had 2 recent projects in Logic, where the project got messed up while using AUV3 plugins, and I was never able to find a cause, and I ended up having to move over to Cubasis to finish by my deadline.
The first time was using Vocal Tune Studio to do some light pitch correction on the lead vocal. After making the correction, upon playback the track had constant pops and clicks. Disengaging the plugin did not correct it, nor did using the back button or removing the plugin completely. The actual audio file seemed to have become corrupted. This was the day before my deadline, so I had to rerecord, and did so in Cubasis just to be safe.
The most recent was a project using a brass section with multiple SWAM instruments. All brass parts were recorded, and sounded great. I then recorded a harmony vocal line over the chorus, and upon playback, all SWAM instruments were at 3 volume in the auv3 volume control (not Logic mixer). Automation lanes were empty, tried replacing the plugins, even tried adding automation to the volume parameter to keep it at 100%. Any action on another track (recording, changing software instruments, adding effects) resulted in SWAM instruments defaulting to volume of 3.
These are 2 of the 5 projects I have done in Logic since downloading it. To be fair, Cubasis also glitches out sometimes, but I can usually fix it with removing the plugin or using the back button. In Logic, I've had to delete the tracks and rerecord to fix the problem.
Thanks Samu, I'll check that out; although I haven't found significant latency issues when using Logic so far. The problems I've come across appear to be bugs, but I haven't been able to reproduce them or find a cause that makes sense to me. I summarized 2 of the recent issues in the post above.
