  • Thank you so much for resurrecting "The Mighty Haggis." It was legendary here on the forum for years — and for good reason!

It's one of the few amp sims that sounds great right out of the box, and features some of the most thoughtful and useable presets by any developer.

I'm certain when future iOS guitar newbies ask what's the best all around app to get started with guitar, the majority will be recommending yours.

    .

Hey @DaveB glad you’re back at it! I was just about to write to you about a little something...

I’m not quite sure about this, and I do believe other guitar apps may suffer from a similar issue, but it seems the tuner tracking at higher sample rates (96kHz) is quite whacky. It seems to be solid in standalone or in AUM at 44.1, but when I raise the sample rate the tuner gets kind of jumpy, especially on the lower notes. Sometimes I don’t even play anything and it says “A”, or it will jump around saying F or A no matter what I’m playing. I think it’s the harmonic overtone sensitivity confusing the tuner perhaps. As I said I’ve noticed this jumpiness with other tuners as well. Just something to look into, perhaps it is what it is.

    Looking forward to 1.0.7!

  • Yay!!!! Sync to tempo!!! @DaveB I wish you would let me buy this app, it’s ok to update a little here and there after we all give you money for it. Other folks do it.

  • Absolutely....I cannot wait to buy this. I have put off buying further rigs in anticipation. 😆

I’ve actually been waiting for my membership to the Apple Small Business Program to come through. It’s finally sorted, so I can at last resume selling on the App Store.

1.0.7 is with Apple for review. I’ll push that out to TestFlight for a wee while, and if there are no serious problems, 1.0.7 is the first public release. Yay

  • 1.07 : there may be some of us that are about to text back that we wish the sync to tempo option was controllable On a individual pedal basis rather than for the entire app. I personally would ask those of us that feel that way please not request it now, mainly because I want to hurry up and buy this app and honestly all of those possible effects together works great for me versus individually.
    Thank you for your attention

You mean like in a preset where several of the pedals are on it’s either all sync or none? Yeah not a big deal... I look forward to playing with the update today, and I agree, @DaveB make us pay!

  • @DaveB much improved fuzz algorithm, and the additional fuzz presets sound killer! I think with a beta vs an official release it’s more about stability and functionality, and I don’t find anything that makes me think the app is not ready in any way. You can always tweak for updates. Thank you for all your hard work and effort and for indulging all of us. You’ve made a great product.

One specific thing I’ll point out that I have before is just to be aware of the “fizz” when the tone knob is higher than the level knob on the Drive/Fuzz. I cannot confirm that this isn’t just happening with my set up, and it is much much improved from the previous builds, but what I’m hearing is that on presets where drive tone knob is high but drive level knob low, I play a chord and the sound dissipates, but the “fizz” doesn’t duck out of the way fast enough. I can hear the fizz kind of oscillate faster and peter out, but it sits above the guitar sound a little. I hear this same behavior in an app like Ge Labs, and coincidentally I think that app also employs a peak limiter. Anyway, just something to be aware of. It’s not harshness, it’s just fizz that gives it away as a digital modeler rather than a real amp. It’s really picky of me, but if you can figure out how to mitigate this over the life of the app, it would be a rare feat.

Congrats again and cheers! The haggis flies again!

  • 20 sounds like honey! Please take my money!

  • Just waiting for Apple to complete their final review now... :)

  • ...should be any minute. Apple is so fast

  • Congrats, Dave!

Can’t wait to give my money to you!

  • That was pretty quick. Apple have approved 20th Anniversary, and it should be landing in the App Store within the next few hours B).

My sincere thanks to everyone for all the great feedback and suggestions during beta test, it's greatly appreciated.

Now, what app to tackle next... :)

  • How mamy single fxs are in this plugin?

It's an amp sim, not exactly a plugin, though it is AUv3. It includes 7 guitar-type effects and and impulse response cabinet model. You can review the manual here.

  • Can't wait - instabuy!

How about a full featured DAW 😎

Have you considered porting over your other products like the sidechain compressor and gate, or the limiter? And how about the lighting controllers?

Also worth considering a convolution loader app, or a trendy reverb/convolution combo of some sort, considering how well your impulse responses came out...

  • Looks beautifully simple in the App Store screenshots. All that’s missing are some brief videos demonstrating the sound. I always like to hear audio apps demonstrated in some fashion. Congrats on the 20th anniversary!

  • Just found it on the App Store. Been a long time since I had a no-hesitation-don’t-care-about-the-price app, but this one is a total no brainer. Congratulations and thanks to Dave B!!!

A couple of short demos are now available in the following YouTube playlist. I'll update this playlist with more tips & tricks as time goes on...

  • Liked and subscribed on YouTube. 5-star rating and review. I would pay again if I could. Thanks again @DaveB. Can I mail you a beer and some cheesecake or something?
