  • Agreed. Point Defense Canons are critical for modern music production.

  • Oh @wim always swinging for the fences 😉

  • If I have an Auv3 synth loaded on pad 1, recorded a pattern, added insert fx and I want to save cpu by sampling the pattern onto pad 2 as audio and unloading the Auv3, what is he best way to accomplish this? I guess I should ask first if the fx that I want to bake in from the Auv3 on pad 1 should be pad level or bank level? I could export as audio or record onto pad 2, but what is the better/recommended way for baking in the fx?

I render to an audio track, then remove the bank.

I add an audio track, open the pattern browser and select Record Sample. Then I set the input to the bank I want to bounce, change mode from Threshold to Sync, let the length of the pattern in bars, tap Start, then play. This should result in an audio clip. If you need to record an FX tail you need to set enough extra bars for the record length.

  • @tja is there an easy way to get that audio clip into a bank if I want to chop it after rendering?

In that case you’re better off just recording straight to the pad. Go to the pad editor, tap on an empty pad, press the red Rec button next to No Sample, then proceed as above with setting the record options and recording the sample.

    Getting back on the horse:

Love the beat when it comes in

  • I really appreciate this update. I’ve not had a single problem with it. BM3 finally feels solid.

It’s refreshing to see focus on stability over new features in apps these days.

And without being safely ensconced in your crash couch you should be careful with how many G’s you pull 😁

  • This one looks like a good match for BM3. I don't own it but the physical dimensions fit nicely under an iPad. The video shows one recommended process of mapping pads, knobs, buttons, the assignable touch strip and more.

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • To the people in the know....
Do think BM3 on iPhone is a possibility this year ?

And speaking of swinging for the fences.

  • BM3 for iPhone would likely be a frustrating experience with tons of microscopic UI elements bordering un-usability.

Koala with the Samurai IAP is more than enough for sampling on the iPhone :)

I actually agree here, although I’d still love BM3 on the phone — it’d be good for delegating specific production tasks to the phone, at times when that’s more convenient.

I find that I use Koala totally differently on iPad and phone, due to the difference in tactile approach and peripheral tech in each context. I’d imagine that I’d also quickly fall into different habits with BM3 that’d be more more suited to a phone layout.

Thanks Wim🙏🏽🙏🏽. The Whole beta team feels the same way. Got a couple other bugs to fix but so far so good and most of the ones that can cause lost of project, files, crashes were on list first.

So far we’ve not heard plans to not make it happen, it’s talked about from time to time but we also have not heard of a timeline. Hope that’s enough of answer for you.

  • @Samu and @OscarSouth
I actually agree with both of you
It most probably would be damn fiddly
But would of used it mainly for sample chopping away from home
I have briefly looked at koala, but at the time thought I may not use it, then the post expanded to a mammoth read.... but for the money I may take a look again, only heard positives about it
    Thanks for your input guys

Can you guys please stop posting or talking about launchpad X with BM3. I don’t want to buy another controller. Please help a brother out!!!!
It’s already heavily discussed in our discord, I come here for the laughs...stop it Echoopera!!!!

Well, forward to the developer that a tight native Launchpad support similar to what Ableton Live has would be awesome in BM3. Using an external controller would even make it very usable on an iPhone ;)

Hahah...too late...the rabbit is out of the hat. LPX is the best controller for iOS in my opinion. So flexible and works well with a lot of apps.

@echoopera Did they squash the bug with selecting bank groups with a controller actually plays the samples in the correct bank in the selected group? Annoyed the crap out of me (this goes back a couple of years) that I could configure my controller to select bank groups only to find that even after moving from one bank group to another, the samples from the first bank group always played back.

I’m not sure if that’s a small job or a headache for BM3 as is.

Have to agree here, the bigger brother has a super nice chord mode and the sequencer is a blast too...
...I guess the only reason Novation didn't include a metronome is to save something for LPPro4 :D

Yeah, I originally had the LP Pro, but took it back to fund the MPC One when it came out. I still love that LPPro, so may end up with it again at some point :)

So - we can easily do long automations that where a total horror before?
Comming back to it - I made some good stuff in bm3 - and they will stay there.
There is not a way to record scenes to the timeline?

    Love the mixer
