If anyone is still a little confused about the separation of pattern and song lane automation in BM3, this quick & simple diagram should help...
Dude, awesome.
Yeah, but what do those fish tanks that say Pattern 1 have anything to do with?
Really enjoying the update. Had some fun with recently transferred Maschine Kits to BM3 with KitMaker app:

Good explanation @tk32. I gotta say, this is ideal for my purposes. It doesn't bother me at all that I need to open a pattern to record automation in it. I can see @Korakios point about how it might be less than intuitive to do that in Scene mode for some people though.
Fish tanks wah? i thought homie was playing Defender.
Anyone else love being able to map relative MIDI inc/dec encoders to the macros, so that you don't need to worry about the 'state' of where your hardware endless encoders are and can just tweak away? .. Or is that just me?
Now that you mention it...
thanks @tk32 , now it makes more sense
Is it from the ongoing manual ?
Maybe I'll get a beatstep again to try out
Which controller you have ?
It’s not just you, me too. That was a great addition
.LMAO!!! 💀💀💀💀
I think that is from hitting the play button too fast. Give the plugins time to load. I’ve done it myself. Sometimes you have to unload and reload the plugin. Make sure you know what patch it is though. Or close it out and open again and wait a second to load and it’ll probably work right.
As @Brad says...always give BM3 a few extra seconds after loading a project to give it time to finish loading all the plugins and samples into ram before you press PLAY.
If you ever load a project and one or more of the plugins seems to be silent STOP. Force quit BM3. then re-open BM3 and reload your project (and give it a few extra seconds, as mentioned above).
Using an MPD required a little Mozaic magic to get it out working. My m-audio code worked ‘out of the box’.
Hmmm, some 'other' hosts (NS2, ZenBeats to name a few) have some kind of 'load indicator' while loading plug-ins so playback can not be started before all the plug-ins are loaded. GarageBand doesn't even show the time-line before everything is loaded...
Maybe BM3 should have some kind of 'progress indicator' built-in that checks that everything is loaded before letting to user go bonkers with the session?
Just a thought, maybe it's harder to do in practice but in theory it sounds like a good idea.
(AUM Doesn't allow playback before everything is loaded as an example so it can be done).
Maybe this is something that is being worked on already as it would definitely increase stability and reliability of the app?
Now that I'm a happy LPPro3 owner 'native' support would be awesome with coloring of the scenes, currently selected bank, level control, sends, mutes, metronome on/off quantize on/off, copy, clear etc. etc.
I know it's a lot to put on the shoulder of one developer unless the team grows...
So far the latest BM3 update has been pretty stable without any major issues.
Cheers!
Don’t think you can record AuMfx yet, can you?
Extra seconds is key in general, aka “wait time” (“thinktime?”): my crashes come when I try to hotstab in an effect or instrument, when transport is running, or I’m in the sample editor doing stuff while samples are playing back, or I have a YouTube still live in AUv3 when cutting that sample...
In other words when asking it to perform like a DAW-on-a-PC, rather than an app-on-a-10.5.
I
Just cannot
Stop....Beat Maker what have you done
to me.....
Supi dupi Sounds
@echoopera, curious if you know of a quick way to transfer NanoStudio 2 Slate kits to BM3?
I do not. But i know that the KitMaker macOS app will create Kits for Ableton, MPC, iMPC Pro, NS2, BM3 and generic kits for use anywhere.

Wooooooooahhh... whatever it is, let it!
I once just placed each hit evenly spaced out in an NS2 pattern, exported that to Bm3, dropped the wav on the first pad then used the grid spacing option for slicing then ‘slice to pads’.
Love it. Keep at it!
Yeah, that's what I ended up doing also.
Loving the update. Imma ask a dumb question I’ve been wondering about for years, so please forgive me:
Is there a way to get rid of the sampling UI to the left of the keyboard? I haven’t used it once since 3.0.0 and would love the extra real estate.
Love this.
A glimpse!! 😻
hmmm, well if the plug-in itself has a keyboard it doesn't show up there, only when using the BM3 keyboard. no way to hide it tho, no.
You could also use a separate keyboard plug-in like 'KB-1' to get the real estate back ...and it has MPE, etc.
NI just dropped a new update for Big Sur so I’ve been consumed with new Mk3 features.
Wakes up with a shivering excited start.... New features for MK3?
