Pianoteq iOS is on the way?

  • At this point I don't believe it's going to happen.

  • Pianoteq 8 is due very soon, I believe. Might have nothing to do with an iOS version, of course.

Maybe the iOS version will be out with Pianoteq 8? Let's hope.

I too have been wishing for Pianoteq to come to iOS after trying a demo of the Windows version a few years ago. It would still be great, but having said that, my yearning for it is lesser now that I have printable 2023 calendar. But I surely wouldn’t say no to a 1-to-1 (or close enough to it to make no difference) iOS version of Pianoteq.

  • Maybe the thread title should be changed… 😕

    Yep.

  • I reached out to them via email in august. They said “they’d share news about iOS in a forthcoming newsletter”. There’s some speculation that pianoteq version 8 release is imminent, so hopefully we’ll have more to go on with their next newsletter, which will likely come out soon.

I hope so. Please, share any info with us here.

A moderator would need to do that since the time that it can be edited by the OP has passed. I wouldn't bother Michael with that myself, but if anyone else remembers who other moderators might be, maybe tag 'em.

    What should be the title?

We are not sure about Pianoteq for iOS
Pianoteq for iOS before 2050 for sure
Pianoteq for iOS, a new generation is waiting

  • All these messages for no news... I think it's time to turn off the auto-notify. If I could figure out how. ;-)

Remove the highlight on the star.

The bookmark star? It wasn't highlighted. But I highlighted it and unhighlited it again, just in case that resets something.

Yes, I see I can have finer control over what I get notified on.
    Thanks!

  • Most useful info so far : go to Modartt forum and you will see that many users of the version 7 noticed leaks on Modartt's website suggesting that a new version 8 is about to be released.
Whether version 8 will go along an iOS version is not certain. But there is hope...

  • They’ve been passive / aggressive about iOS for years upon years. This is one product I wouldn’t touch at all even if it were to miraculously appear.

PianoTeq is unique. It's not just another VA synth. So if you simply want to experience the best piano on iOS, probably you will have to set aside emotional components in your buying decision ;-)

I own pianoteq on desktop, it’s nice tech, but no it’s not the best. In my subjective experience Spectrasonics pianos have been the most delightful.

Music is about emotions…I won’t suppress these for any reason. And especially not if someone tells me to lol. 🖕

  • That actually is the way I would describe Pianoteq. It’s too perfect and even so that it sounds a bit sterile and unemotional. It lacks real (imperfect) world physics.
So maybe Pianoteq 8 will add an imperfection engine 😄 but I have my doubt that that’s something the devs are after.

Yeah, I see how emotions are important to you.

    Music is about emotions

Please admit at least that you were not refering to "musical emotions" when you were reporting about a developper "passive / aggressive about iOS for years upon years" for being the reason you "wouldn’t touch at all" to its product. Not the same kind of emotions here :-)

no need to “admit” anything…what I said was clear and obvious, do you need to convince yourself that you are 100% “logical” and not responding from some dark, soul less place inspired by the likes of beelzebub himself? I don’t believe that…but still answer the damn question

Spot on :D I’ve yet to see pure modeling outdo great sampling.

I do think pianoteq might be winning in real-time latency because while playing it the tactical perception experience is uncanny…but listening back ewwww. Zero soul.

  • So it's now official : PianoTeq 8.0 is arriving soon to iOS ! :-)

  • The iOS app is “in progress”. No mention of any timeframe unfortunately. I think we’d be lucky if it came out before the end of the year. Spring 2023 seems likely to me.
