Hi folks,
I'm trying to use the aum keyboard to send notes in order to control the Pattern and Rate parameters.
For Pattern, if I hold down the note it moves to the next one (from 1 to 2), and then it will move back to pattern #1 when I release. With Rate, it only moves the rate up from say 1/8 to 1/8D, but will not settle back on 1/8.
Wondering if this is something I need to change in AUM, or if it's something with Snakebud itself. Ideally, what I would like to do is cycle round robin style moving one pattern or rate value at a time with each tap of the keyboard.
Hi there! Thanks for looking at this. Am Idoing it wrong, I camt Load up Snakebud in Loopy Pro, do I have to do it from AUM?
Are you familiar with how to load MIDI AUv3's in Loopy? It's not the same as adding an audio app.
Tap the plus button at the bottom-right of the mixer. Then you'll see Snake Bud in the list of apps. Open Snake Bud and tap the gear icon, the the + button to add a destination for the MIDI output.
You need to use CC's rather than notes. If you want to use the AUM keyboard you'll need something such as Streambyter or Mozaic to do some converting.
The Key 2 CC Mozaic script is one that might work for this. It would require one instance for each parameter, and would probably need some experimentation to come up with settings that work properly.
@cem_olcay hi Cem, after a recent update Snakebud won't load for me
i'm on iPad Air 3 (2019), using iOS 13.7
I really love Snakebud, hope this bug can be fixed -thanks!
@drewinnit. It's OK here on iOS 15.7.6 iPad Air 2.
If you haven't tried rebooting your iPad and also opening the standalone app once first, you might want to do that.
@wim thanks for the tip - unfortunately not even the standlone will load, even after a reboot
Sounds like maybe iOS 13 compatibility got borked with the move to add Apple Silicon Mac support.
Hi, I’m not really sure, does it load into the other DAWs? And how about the other Buds?
won't load in AUM, BM3 or Drambo.
I tested some other buds ( ArpBud (including the "old" version) Chordbud 2, MelodyBud) and they will not run, they crash and won't load
the exception, these ones still work for me: RhythmBud, ScaledBud, StepBud
Hi Cem, any update on the status here? I can understand if iOS 13 isn't supported for these bud apps anymore, but would be good to know for sure so I can make decisions on whether to upgrade or not. Thank you!
I tested the apps on my old iPhone with iOS 12 today. They worked fine both standalone and AUv3 on AUM. They loaded and worked as expected. Technically it should also work fine on iOS 13 as well. I don't have a device, so I'm not sure but if anyone else have iOS 13 device and can try the apps, it would be great.
thank you for checking. i guess no-one else is on iOS 13. I will likely upgrade to the new build of iOS 16 soon, largely to get access to SnakeBud again
🚨 New update is coming soon 🚨
New version adds MIDI CC sequencer to SnakeBud!
Nice!
👍🏻
Awesome @cem_olcay
oh man this opens up so many cool opportunities to have your CC message move around in a designated sequence, or a completely random sequence. Cool beans.
Woah all these random sequences to change CC parameters is awesome!
The new version is live & it’s discounted throughout the week!

Thanks to the ability to control each of the 16 steps individually via AUv3 parameter/MIDI, SnakeBud is one of my favourite sequencer plugins for Berlin School live jamming. Thanks @cem_olcay for the update.
Hi Cem, thanks for the update. I’m not having much luck getting the CC output to work.
Two issues:
Am I missing something obvious, or is there a bug?
All the above was in AUM on an iPad 6th gen running 16.5.1(c)
@bygjohn
There are separate note and cc output ports for SnakeBud now.
If you connect the cc output to Filterjam it should work as expected.
Thanks. I was using the CC port. Just had another go, and it seems that it doesn’t send CC until you’ve changed the number in Settings. Twiddling the knob to change the number doesn’t seem to work until you’ve done that, and if you use the number the number in the Randomise list doesn’t change. Tapping that randomise option also didn’t work yesterday, but seems to work once you’ve actually got it outputting properly. Either it’s not very intuitive or there are inconsistencies or simply bugs here. A manual would maybe help.
FYI SnakeBud is working for me again on iOS 13, must’ve been something in the new update. i’m very glad to have it back in my arsenal
To follow up on this, the problem I was having was down to iOS’s idiotic way of not showing a scroll bar. I thought the thing that said Pattern (CC#10) was the command to randomise the CC pattern… sigh
Figured it out now…
I honestly have no idea how but cool! 😄
Cem.
You got the rate knob going 1/4. 1/4 d. 1/4 t
but the d is faster than t.
So theres no point adjusting via midi.
Dont worry. Will use on an ipad without a midi controller.
Will see if I adjust rates ( with euclidean drum jams )
A huge new update is on the horizon!
thanks @cem_olcay , SnakeBud is one of my favourite sequencers....looking forward to twisting my sequences in new serpentine ways
The new version is live!!
