Thank you to everyone who voted and participated. @Digitalresonance , @Peanutcram , and myself were the ones who made 'Medusa'. It was Peanut's idea to pick her. Digital did an amazing job on this track. He made it look easy. He did most of the work. I hope he shares a bit what he did, and how it was put together. If anyone wants some very good patches, presets, and samples, stop by his site. http://www.digitalresonance.co.uk/ It's obvious he works hard, and loves what he does. Very insightful person, and a pleasure to work with and speak to.

Peanut made some really cool sounds with Impaktor and AUFX, I believe. And used some other apps as well. He's a really great guy to work with, and has turned into a good friend.

I hope the other team shares who they are, and what they did as well. We may have picked up an extra vote or two, but their track was fantastic, and I listened to it many times. They did a great job.

I hope more people participate in the next round. This is a lot of fun, and it's a great opportunity to meet some wonderful people who have a similar passion for music.

  • @ arcanescreams.. Thanks for those kind words :)

I think arcane summed things up pretty well. It was fun to get involved in the compo. It's always a challenge to do something new with new people and I think it's the best way to bring out creativeness inside us.. I really hope more people do get involved in these competitions and I was quite surprised more people didn't participate after all I'm pretty sure every single person who uses this forum makes music in one way or another. So I highly recommend getting involved even if u only contribute a high hat sound :)

Thanks @arcanescreams @peanutcram it was fun doing the project with you.

Most of the sounds where made from scratch for those who are interested using iOS synths etc. some drums just from beatmakers own. The kick n snare at the end where designed using just a couple of layerd hits. Eq'd, compressed and then re sampled back into the drum machine to be programmed. Added beatmakers own compressor to get it sounding punchy. It might be a crap compressor but it does give some halfway results if used carefully..

  • Nice work @digitalresonance, layered multisamples resampled into beatmaker, great tip, Very convincing, sounded like work that is done on a pc/mac, Beatmaker is indeed a powerhouse.

This month was an increase from last month, hopefully your proposition will continue the upward trend. I plan on participating, music is why I joined.

Great job @ArcaneScreams @Digitalresonance and @Peanutcram. The 3 of you collaborated across 3 countries and 2 languages. Bravo!

Just to add a bit more on production

The whole track was done in beatmaker pretty much. We thought about putting all the stems into auria but it wasn't really needed in the end. I find it possible to use beatmakers newer eq to get usable results if u apply a small amount of it at a time.. So u might pick a frequency that's annoying and just take it down a 1db or 2 in a narrowband. Now this might not be enough so u can reapply the same setting again to reduce more. This can either be done by loading up the eq again and applying the same setting or using the next block on the eq. Just set the same setting and u will notice it produces a better cleaner sound than trying to take out 4db at a time.

The bass at the end was a simple bass tone made in sunrizer layerd with kymatica oscillator, re sampled through audiobus with wow filter in the chain to add a bit of meat to it. Then just 1 note loaded into beatmakers sampler.. A heavy compressor setting was applied to the channel and then the kick and snare where driving the side chain that had a ridiculous release time to make it sound like it was dragging.. We thought that added to the dark vibe and helped make the sound punchy overall.

The piano was just the standard built in piano lite with eq, delay, chorus, shockingly even the built in reverb was used.lol I hate that thing :) but it actually sounded ok on this occasion so we didn't bother running through any one of the much much better reverbs for iOS. :-O

After mixing was done we put it through Final touch. That was my first time using it. I bought it just to master this track. I was interested to play with it anyway and this was a good excuse to buy it. I know the tools are in auria but I'd heard tarakith say he kinda liked it and so I thought I'd give it a try.. The widening tools I thought worked well and really helped enhance the overall sound slightly to make it sound more polished. The limiter did a good job of maximising the sound without screwing the dynamics too much. Or so I thought :)

    All good fun :)

  • @WMWM There is a message in your inbox, haha.

  • Super fun. Thanks so much to all of you. Everybody should join. Just for the experience. Let me tell you I'm not the most experienced musician nor recording guy. Jamming with friends on guitar... One year ago I plugged in via i to my iPhone and got loopy and got sucked into ios music. So it was an honor to get insights how quick and how precise an how deep these committed guys work. That boosted my learning curve enormously and caught my attraction . @ArcaneScreams thanks for the modular tutorial! They switch easily between tracks and projects, MIDI and audio, Auria and BM2 which I never really used before. They catch an idea and realize it. That's all I had ;) First guess Medusa, take it, the story is told in three parts. Ok go?! The big sync experience... Sync bpm, timing, harmony, sound, arrangement, workflow, Dropbox, transatlantic communication, ideas, feelings, moods, real live... ;) So I tried to to keep up and sort out that, in my dimensions, huge growing BM project my mates layed down (I still don't get it), synced my own apps on the bus and added some ideas. That was good fun to play over and we even used some of it in the final version. All happening on mobile devices across the world to get what we love - music! Great, intelligent, humorous and enthusiastic people I met. So thanks @Digitalresonance for bringing Medusa to that professional level and sharing your experience, @ArcaneScreams just for having met him.

  • I would like to know who the three participants of the 'Ghost Rider' song are. None of you have said anything. Please come forward, so we can say 'Hello'.

  • @digitalresonance, I have not received your list yet, please send.

  • edited June 2014

No. You have not answered me. I want the names of the team members who made the track 'Ghost Rider' in this competition. You are holding 11 codes, donated by developers, which we have won, set by your rules. Stop with this game. Will you become a thief as well? Send us those codes. No. Send me those codes. I want to make sure you comply, and my team members have faith in me.

  • Lol, if no email from the 1st team's rep, I give pick to second team and forfeit the rest back to the developer, I understand you feel like your entitled to them all but that was never the plan.

As far as your demands, they amuse me.

  • @WMWM I am the team rep. What have you not figured out about that? You are walking a path of humiliation, in front of all those who read this forum. Do you see, there have been very few posts. They are reading all this. Stop with this shame, I beg you. Why will you not share the names of the other team members?

  • edited June 2014

The teams rep's are the ones who submitted the tracks. Read the pertinent post.

  • You will not win here. Everyone can see who you are. You are dealing with me. Not Digital, not Peanut. What do you not understand about this?

  • edited June 2014

    Please send list

  • You have shown yourself to be a thief. And you have lost all credibility on this forum. Redeem yourself. It is the only way for you to rebuild. Show humility. Show reverence. Speak from your heart. You know I am speaking the truth about your actions.

5th request for a prioritized list, after the 7th, I proceed as described.

If your looking to beat up on someone, go kick your dog, it will actually care that you are upset. Actually, dont, i love dogs.

  • @WMWM I do not appear to be the one upset. Your insults only dig your hole deeper. Do as you wish. You have brought shame to this house.

  • Drama, unneeded, provide a list please and lets move on.

  • @WMWM No. We will not move on. You are behaving as a child. Share the team member names, and proof that they made that track. I want those 11 codes which we won fairly. It is ok to admit a mistake on your part. Until the other team steps forward with proof that they made the track, and you release the codes to me, we are at an standstill. The person losing here is you.

  • You have the ok of all the ones involved we know... What's the matter?

  • Last chance, unfair to the other participants to prolong this any longer.

Anybody on @Digitalresonance's team can now give me a prioritized list of prize, since I have not heard back from him.

    So like this, 1) holderness 2) beatmaker 3) guitarcapo+ 4) Caustic

THIS IS THE LAST REQUEST. If next post by the team that got the most votes dosnt contain such, we move on.

    Pretty simple thing really.

  • Do not give me an order. You have earned no respect from me. And you have lost the respect of your peers.

  • Ok, now moving on, whata shame. My apologies to you @Peanutcram and @Digitalresonance.

  • Hey wait. I'm in...

  • edited June 2014

    1) Crystalline 2) swoopster 3) caustic

    Yeah ;)

  • Lol.. Oh dear. What's going on?? Have we sorted this issue yet?? I see it's plastered all over audiobus forum.

  • Because of your actions, it will be assumed by all that you have stolen applications from Holderness Media, Single Cell Software, Toneapp and Intuia. That is all you have done.

  • Guys I love it. Magic theatre :D Someone could provide the soundtrack! Next challenge...

  • I actually have those apps already, what could I steal? I picked the ones that I especially enjoy and I felt others would also.
