Hi doug,if it works in all three slots,has it got a recording suite within it? If so how many tracks etc ?
Thanks. All I meant is I want a tuner to always display the note I'm playing. Right now, I can only do that when I stop everything and tune up.

Ampkit's octaver is pretty good.
I may catch a lot of crap for saying this, so everyone please remember that this is just my opinion....
I was less than impressed with the effect quality of some of the effects in Magellan and Galileo. Could you post some dry/wet audio samples of various instruments?
That said, I'm always watching for new effects, and I've always been impressed with how full-featured Yonac products usually are. I'll be watching with interest! :-)
The best thing about the FX in Magellan and Galilleo is that you can use them as FX for other sound sources. Meaning just by owning them, you now have FX apps, for free!

Thanks - that's the one guitar app I don't have!
Sorry its been a while, I've been at the hospital to see a consultant about more tests, anyway here now
So a few new questions, it does not generate sound
It does have a persistant tuner, on or off
It does have an 8 track onboard
As far as I can tell you could load up as many FX as your device can handle
I have already mentioned some of the FX above, a few more are a 14 band dual channel graphic EQ, A few amazing filter FX with tempo sync and waveform controlled LFO, and one of my favorite ones is called Squark which emulates that classic talk box effect, plus a stack more, and honestly these aren't crappy sounding FX they sound top notch. A. Whole load of these FX are more like studio rack modules than stomp pedals, but there are lots of them too
I cant demo the app yet
Now I'm really excited! Anything else you can say about sound generation? Does it generate sounds that sounds like guitars and stringed bases?
Is it a fully stereo signal path? Meaning: can I run a stereo drum app through an amp sim and have it maintain the stereo field?
If it's stereo... can your run separate left/right chains?
Does the reverb sound better than Magellan's? I know that's subjective but curious on your take. Magellan's reverb is fine but it's not exactly inspiring to me when compared to others on iOS.
Is the 8 track an IAP?
Does it have a looper?
Am I a dick for asking this many questions?
This sounds good. Especially as studio fx. I was always more impressed with Magellan's fx than the synth itself. It sounds effortlessly great. Looking forward especially to tempo sync'd stuff. Nice one Doug, thanks for the great news.

He said it does NOT generate sound. Sorry to dampen the excitement, but it had to happen...
@syrupcore said:
Yes. Maybe. But better yours than mine and I DO want to know about the 8-track
It makes me smile when people say "Well, it looks cool, but I already have an app that does (insert effect here)". Guitarists (me, anyway) do not think this way. That'd be like saying "Well, I have a Fender Strat, so I have all my GUITAR needs covered", or "Why would I need a 2nd distortion pedal when I've got my trusty DS-1?!". Of course, you're better off if you don't have this sickness, so feel free to dismiss these as the ramblings of an addict.
Point of all that being, I am VERY excited about what Yonac might be able to do with a guitar app. If you look at the depth and variety of what they offer even in something like Galileo Organ...wow! Even if 70% of it were crap (which I highly doubt), 24 amps/cabs seems to leave a lot of possibilities.
Flying Haggis is a great example of that - it only really has a few tricks up it's sleeve, but the interface is so damn convenient to use (and it nails some vintage tones that I struggle to get in the other, sexier apps), it's got some pretty big fans who probably also own BIAS and the other apps.
Squark sounds good. I was wondering if there are any talkbox effect apps.
I'm trying not to collect any more guitar effect apps, I bought JamUp Pro plus some packs when Audiobus was released. There weren't many Audiobus effect apps to chose from back then and I wanted to start experimenting. But I have to say I really loved the sounds in your (thesoundtestroom) Flying Haggis demo. I just feel a little silly spending money on guitar effects apps without even owning a guitar.
Ook I will try and answer some more
The 8 track is an IAP but you get the first two tracks free
It has full stereo signal chain, in fact this is one of the fantastic things about the app, you have a special utility called ABY which is essentially a spliter, this allows you to load two amps, two cabs, any stack of FX for either amp or whatever and have one FX chain panned hard right and the other panned hard right or anywhere in the stereo field you like, it dont stop there, it then allows you to choose via the ABY box to choose either Just A or just B or Both A and B aside from full control of where they are in the stereo field, now I was really impressed with this so I tried adding more than one splitter and that worked too
There are four quality reverb units available including a spring and a very complex plate, and the same for the delays
And yeah it has a looper
MIDI learn, or at least assignable?
@Zymos said:
My comment earlier on in the thread answers the midi stuff, I think its comment number 14 from the top, but yes, it has awsome midi
Very pleased to hear about the splitter. I remember writing to Ampkit and saying that they should develop something like that as it would steal a march on the other amp sims on iOS.
@thesoundtestroom said:
Oops,You did indeed address it - sorry to pester. It's always the first feature I ask about and too often ignored.
Yonac's midi is usually very good, so it would have been a surprise if this wasn't up to scratch
Just had some great news from Yonac, to answer an earlier question ToneStack is Universal and they have said its OK for me to do some sound demo's, its too late here in the UK for me to do this tonight, but I promise I will get on it in the morning
looking forward to it!
Oh and one more thing Yonac said that the app is iOS 7 minimum
Thanks for the news @thesoundtestroom. Looking forward to your demo when you're permitted to do it... tomorrow? How about tomorrow. That sounds good. Kidding of course, but I'm excited, because I'm just the kind of guitar gear junkie that @StormJH1 described.
EDIT: Oops, posted before I saw the end of the thread. You are shooting for tomorrow. SWEET!
Thanks again, Doug
Thanks for all of the answers doug. The stereo effects would be enough to make me happy. That there's also ABY splits... well, that's just butter.
I'm also looking forward to it. And a little (p)review video would be very much appreciated. I hope they'll have a nice intro sale too.
No bread or butter but JAM sounds good to me.
"Yonac's midi is usually very good" - except for one tiny little issue with broken source port selection: it listens promiscuously, and the popup ports list does not actually do anything beyond listing the ports it listens to. Breaks MidiBridge routing and filtering control. I've moaned abut this before but they don't appear to be listening. Not even to their forum. So Doug, can you test that aspect? And let them know about this through your closer contact with the devs?
@dwarman said:
I will certainly pass this info on to them for you, as for me being able to test it the honest answer would be no, I didn't even understand half of what you said. Midi is not really my strongest thing there are a lot more people here who understand midi better than me. I use midi very basically, like connecting a keyboard or setting up midi learn, I dont have the time to learn it properly and my attention span for complex midi routing is short, not that I dont apprieciate midi, its just I find it very confusing, bit like modular synthesis, I wouks love to be able to program modular synths, but by the time I've got the thing blip I loose interest, sorry for going on here, but I didn't want you think I was just being ignorant and I certainly didn't want to give you the impression that when it comes to midi I know what I'm talking about because I dont :-)
