Did you check for it on both Audio Tracks and Midi Tracks?
Some apps are IAA Generators and can only be loaded to Audio Tracks in Cubasis.
The reason it works in AUM and LoopyPro is because they load both IAA-Instruments and IAA-Generators to input slots.
Cheers!
Hi @Hannes,
Thanks for your feedback - greatly appreciated!
IAA allows to route audio, MIDI and effects between Cubasis (host) and compatible node apps in realtime. There are three basic types of nodes:
• Effects can be set as insert or send effects
• Instruments are assigned to a MIDI track and automatically receive MIDI from Cubasis
• Generators are inputs for audio tracks
It depends on the app manufacturer what type of nodes are available.
Is it possible, that Patterning 2 only provides limited IAA node support?
Please give the following steps a try to find out:
Are you able to find "Patterning 2" in the list?
Do the same steps again, starting with a MIDI track.
If "Patterning 2" is not available here, it seems the app vendor did not make this node option available.
In additon, we strongly recommend to let app vendors know about your request for an Audio Unit version of their plug-in(s) to make them aware about the demand!
Hope that helps!
Best,
Lars
@LFS
is there a way to assign more than one midi track
to a multi-timbral Auv3 instrument within Cubasis 3.
For instance I would like to be able to assign 16 midi tracks
to Beathawk which can receive midi on all 16 midi channels.
Hi @Gravitas,
Thanks for your message.
Please check out our AU v3 Multi Out tutorial:
Hope that helps!
Best wishes,
Lars
No, it doesn’t help.
That isn’t what I meant.
The video refers to multi out audio not multi in midi.
Hi @Gravitas,
Both topics should be covered in the tutorial?!
Best,
Lars
@LFS
hi, can i record automation of any auv3 instrument or effect, by wiggling the knob or slider or whatever on the auv3's gui?
You can definitely if the params are exposed by the guest.
Yes, load BH2 to a midi track and on the other midi tracks select the track hosting BH2 as the Midi Output under routing.
I've only tried with GR16 setting it into poly mode so each pad responds on it's own midi-channel (Settings Midi Mode - Poly).
Cheers!
In the routing settings of a Midi track you can set the output to other Midi tracks and choose the Midi channel to be used. I think this should do what you want.
@LFS There seems to be a BUG in the midi-routing in Cubasis 3.4...
Two or more midi tracks can not be set to use the same 'target track' which would be needed for multi-timbral operation!
For example lets say I host GR-16 on Midi Track (1) for the sounds.
I create a new Midi Track (2) and route its output to the track with GR-16, Midi Track (1). Everything is fine...
Now I create another Midi Track (3) and set its output to GR-16 Midi Track (1) and the output for Midi Track (2) gets reset?!
Like WTF, I didn't ask for it to be 'reset', I asked it output to Midi Track (1)!!!
So midi-routing definitely needs a FIX!
(Or back to drawing board and allow each audio & midi track to have multiple input sources and output destinations).
Cheers!

Awesome update. This removes many workarounds when using Cubasis with other apps. The big one for me is that I can now use link to sync with the Lumbeat drum apps with start/stop.
MIDI timestretch is a very useful addition for me too.
Thanks @LFS and the team
This is exactly what I meant.
Gotcha, so lets hope @LFS and his team hurry up with a 3.4.1 'fix update' that sorts out the midi-routing.
This could take time as it will likely require some kind of 're-factoring' regarding the way midi is handled (merging, filtering and routing to/from and between all the available sources and destinations).
All this makes me appreciate AUM and it's midi matrix even more...
Cheers!
Finally, Cubasis can slave sync at least via LINK.
This is a big one that I was waiting to happen since years
Thanks for this update @LFS !!!
Is Multi-Out support for AUfxs happening in the near future?
Agreed.
The issue was there in 3.3.3 which I mentioned in
another thread which eludes me at the moment.
Yeah, AUM has a very sophisticated midi matrix.
Agreed.
It’s amazing.
Now I can sync the projects that I have on my other
idevices and multi track in time at the same time.
Obviously there’s more stuff that can be done. 😁
Looks like my Cubasis 3 Workshop stream is going to be running for longer than I thought! 🙂
It will be a 'Never Ending Story'
Congratulations Team Cubasis on this monumental advancement.
can Cubasis, it be linked with Cubase Pro on desktop?
Hi @Samuel,
Thanks for your message.
Will share the topic with the team.
Best,
Lars
Hi @eross,
As of yet, Cubase does not support Ableton Link.
Best,
Lars
Thanks @rs2000, hope you enjoy using Cubasis 3.4!
Best,
Lars
looks great, thx a lot, Lars & crew
Thanks @LFS and @Samu for your fast help regarding Patterning2 and Audio-iAA, problem solved
Glad to read you're up and running! Thanks @Hannes!
Best,
Lars
Wow, wasn’t expecting Link, looking forward to trying it later on.
Thanks @LFS
