  • I love this app, and I'm not afraid to admit that I have no idea how it works (yet). What I did yesterday though was pretty cool - I pointed channel 1 of Zoa at Borsta, and channels 2 and 3 at Ruismaker FM.

I set up a non-refreshing sequence to F# Major Pentatonic (for Brambos drum map) in Zoa with ch. 1 hitting Borsta (making it do SOMETHING I like, I just haven't fully learned triggers and zones, or whatever, yet). Ch. 2 was bouncing around the scale to trigger drum and perc hits, while ch. 3 set to "first" so it would only trigger the bass drum mapped to C#.

I don't know if any of that makes sense, but as a groove generator, it might be my new go-to template.

I see a lot of people who've bought this... How about posting some quick sound experiments or song demos here so others can be convinced this is an app worth buying?

UPDATE: I see @Stuntman_mike posted a video. Anyone else also want to demo?

  • I recently bought it and i love it. What i couldnt find out is how to record one-shots with the midi keyboard. Is it even possible?

I have intentionally not learned how to use it properly. I do the same as you—i send sequences into it and follow my ears to something i like.

Every other octave should be 12 one shots (with the octaves in between those being 12 patterns)

  • I know, but is it possible to record those one shots into borsta with the midikeyboard?

@Thacapos I just tried in AUM with Borsta

    • showing the sequencer
    • having selected the first ‚oneshot‘ instrument in the sequencer
    • ‚add-mode‘ selected for the editor (manual tapping in the timeline adds hit-markers)
    • the sequencer running (and playing the brushed seq)

=> One-shots played via midi are audible, but no ‚hit-markers‘ are added.

Each of the two oneshots can be played by 4 key, 2 for the open sound and 2 for the closed sound - for instance C4 and F#4 will both play the open version of one-shot 1. I tried both for the record test

    .

Recording is also not part of the feature set descibed in the Borsta manual (available via the Borsta homepage)

I recommend hosting it in Drambo and recording the midi sequence there. That’s what I do!

  • I love Klevgrand apps, wildly overpriced and since we can not load or own samples into their list of drum apps, I would at least expect some more updates in terms of extra samples, but I admit, they sound good.
Same for grand finale with its hidden algos, what the heck are we tweaking?
Ok I’ll buy borsta and fosfat too ❤️

Considering how good they sound I don’t find them overpriced at all. Love their apps.

  • Looking to buy this. I saw the excellent Doug's video and I love the sounds, I was just wondering how hard is to get to the final sound/rhythm you want? It is a bit different from your standard sequencer so feedbacks are appreciated :)

They live in Sweden, a civilized country with a high cost of living and high taxation and are an actually company. So of course their apps cost more than those of one man dev operations based in cheap countries 🤷‍♂️. Sorry to be harsh, but I strongly disagree they are wlldly overpriced.

There enough rhythm presets that I haven’t had the need to edit that much

But basically you have brushes and hits

The upper part is a brush intensity/volume curve

And the bottom part is the sequencer where you can add and modify the brushes and two other hit types.

You can move this hits in the volume and time domain, both free and snapped to a grid and you can click the hits to switch them from open to close.

You can aldo resize the editing area so you I had no problem using it on my iPad mini 6 to test this out.

By the way, Klevgrand is having a "42 Hour" sale right now and most of their software is about 50% off.

Klevgrand software I previously bought and still use:

    -Reamp
    -Modley
    -Richter
    -Pipa
