No problem @lifereinspired - screen recording is easy: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207935
Splitting the audio out from it can be done several ways. I don't do it often, so I'm not the best person to recommend ways. One way is described here. Other ways are to use something like Koala Sampler that has this built-in.
Thanks @wim! I really appreciate your help.
I’ve done screen recording but somehow never realized that if you don’t enable the mic, it records the audio internally. If one reads or watches tutorials online, they say the only way for it to record audio is to enable the mic and play it via the speakers. Totally wrong! I was just experimenting and it worked great.
I’ll definitely look into how to extract the audio track and I greatly appreciate the links to get started. I have way too many audio apps (those darn holiday sales!) so I likely have something that will work already. Thank you again!
I have mine in my swipe from upper right corner of iPad screen. I think it’s called action items or something. You can see it in this pic below.
If you just search mp3 converter you will get a very long list in the App Store, also at least one of them goes free or on sale at least once a month. here is the one I like MP3 Converter
This one is free but never used it…

Ok I know exactly what you mean, just never heard that terminology before, thanks.
@Poppadocrock, thanks so much for your help and suggestions! I’ll definitely be on the lookout for one of those on sale - or free.
In the meantime, the screen recording has worked perfectly on the live YT vids and I took the suggestion to use Koala since I already had it and I was quickly able to learn how to extract the audio from the screen recording vids. Flawless! Thanks again everyone for your help!
After reading this thread I opened Tube AU in AUM this morning and it seems to still work. Go figure🤷🏻♂️
Yeah it’s the technical term; maybe a simpler mobile/desktop switch could be enough
anyone using this one? same name, same function from what I can read
https://apps.apple.com/de/app/tube-au-audio-unit-player/id6529534029?l=en-GB
It’s the same developer as the last one.. instead of doing the right thing and updating the original , buggy Tube AU, he’s selling it again, code rewritten allegedly..desperate cash grab..
sorry, just saw your message now. thanks for the info
