Yo... Sorry to add a new bug to the list but my Sonic Port lightening audio interface is not recognised and I cańt sample from a plugged line in... I can do it in all other DAW including BM2... Guess I'm gonna go back to the beast faster than I would have thought (and kinda hoped in fact) ;-) ... :-/

This discussion is falling down, and retronymes does not answer anymore... I tried notifying this important bug (to me at least) on their Twitter 2 times and had no answer... And I'm still waiting for the announced update to remove the "end trim marker issue" and maybe other bugs, like the one I'm facing (it was supposly submitted to Apple a week ago if I don't mistake)...
I'm loosing faith day after day on this one... And I was one of the earlier fans.
    This sucks... I'm sad ;-b

  • With Retronyms (and Akai) you have to lower your expectation levels to about 50% of their marketing hype level and believe about 50% of what they promise. Only then will you not be disappointed. I realize it is only version 1.0, but there is no excuse for some of the blatant issues (e.g. no velocity response) making it through testing and also features that were advertised (e.g. MPC track export) not being included. Those features led (or misled) many buyers to making the purchase. If those features weren't going to be available in the initial release that should have been stated up front as a "coming soon" feature. Retronyms already has a history of slow updates, bugs that were never fixed in the original iMPC and a blatant tendency of ignoring problems and user requests in order to promote and support their Tabletop product.

They had such a great opportunity to correct those things with iMPC Pro but so far are up to their same old tricks.

  • I'm quite sure they displayed several disclaimers during the promo videos to warn that not all features would make it to final release.

  • I really wanted to fall in love with this, but now I'm very happy I held off from buying at first drop. So many issues and complaints. I hope they fix this thing up quickly and proper.

I don't remember any such disclaimers, but I do remember seeing the demo. with the MPC Element and the velocity pad response working properly. On the comment section Dan was quite surprised that the release version didn't work properly. No big deal, but proper regression testing would have prevented that type of bug.

  • It is probably time to make some lemonade.

  • Can someone post another soundcloud track? My browser is giving low memory warnings, so I think one more track will do it. Just for the funniez

ok, I will oblige ... my 1st iMPC track has now transmogrified into this.... in includes Cubasis bibbles from Alchemy + Animoog. Not mixed .. needs work, but happy to post for the funniez ;)

  • Crap no funniez :( Really nice beat tho, liked/play-listed!

  • Nice groove @skoptic liking the clean and punchy mix

  • @ChrisG @Supadom

Thanks guys :) I'm having a lot of fun with it, the app restrictions / idiosynchrasies are just making me work differently which can be a nice refreshing change! (making lemonade for sure!)

  • **@skoptic

Real nice man... I like that !

  • nice beats everyone

I want to hear more about the impc pro application, what's happening with the bug fixes and updates!

    I wish i knew ;-)

  • has there been any feedback from retro about not being able to make one bar sequences?

  • edited July 2014

First update will include these fixes/enhancements (currently waiting for review at Apple):

    iMPC Pro V 1.1:

    • Trim endpoint saves and loads properly.

    • Velocity for iMPC Element fixed.

    • Added sound delete (drag to trash).

    • Crash on set global for FX return and Master Fader fixed.

    • Can now open and close precision mode controls while popover is active.

    • Performance improvements on save and load sessions and sample edits.

    • FX returns were moving some fader controls. This is fixed.

    • iMPC Pro now registers as a InterApp Audio Instrument. Should sync better with Cubasis and
      other hosts.

    • You can now drag pads across banks using multitouch. (eg: begin dragging pad, select bank b, drop pad)

    • Various other small fixes and performance improvements.

    Copy/pasted quote from www.synthtopia.com:

"No word yet on whether or not Akai & Retronyms plan to add the most commonly requested feature – full MIDI support – but they do say more updates are coming soon."

  • Just posted: Version 1.1 — iMPC Pro Log

  • Cool. Look forward to this coming through.

  • Great to hear it's coming. I wonder if that drag-to-trashcan is going to confuse users thinking they were clearing a pad but instead delete the associated sample!

  • Went back and tried another beat tonight..

  • So its not me alone, always having a crash with safari on my ipad on this. Seems to be the Soundcloud stuff. Or whats causing it?

Soundclouds widgets are a complete buggy mess, they slurp up all the RAM they can get. Having this page opened on my Air and it shows around 20mb RAM left. Closing this page and I get over 400mb RAM back. I really do hope they can be arsed to clean up their widgets at some point :/

  • What a mess.

  • I have faith in this app...updates should be in the making ....it sounds awesome

  • Any ideas as to when 1.1 will drop?

  • that is a nice beat @buska!

  • And when is planned v1.2 (with AB and full midi support, and with support for lighting port audio interface such as Line 6 Sonic port to be able to sample) ?

    ;-b

  • @syrupcore @ChrisG @firejan82
    Thanks!
Chopped up a loop i made with nanoloop, love that app :D
