I have sync working well with Cubasis. Now, how do I record the audio from iMPC Pro into a track in Cubasis?
You need to freeze a track with iMPC midi writed...
Hi. I'm thinking about buying impc pro but I guess it doesn't work with my novation launchkey mini. A workaround would be using tabletop's midi learn function but it doesn't have IAA so recording into auria would be a big headache.
Does anyone know anything about this?
Thanks.
You could use some sort of midi re-routing app like MidiBridge to map the settings of the launchkey to iMPC Pro but that might be more hassle than you want to get into.

Thank You.
I'll buy it first. And we'll see.
By the way... I think them launchkey mini isn't 'midi editable'. One cannot change the values.
I bought it. It works like the first impc. Three pads don't trigger a sound and the of them is all messed up. I could work with this but having minus two pads is a bummer.
And by the way... Tabletop-ready? Not quite there. It opens but the virtual pads won't respond.
Hi guys, having a lot of fun with this app but can't load ifretless guitar in iaa to sample.Just wondering has anyone tried it or is it just me.
Hi Joe:
Just run up ifretless bass and works fine, but nothing doing with ifretless guitar. I did try the 'loading/unloading/dismissing' tip their nag screen suggests, but no dice.
So, shame and all, but it aint just you
[Edit: Air/latest ios etc]

I just did. With no issues.
I've got an IPad Air. I don't know If it's relevant..
Hi guys, thanks for the response,I'm on iPad mini 1st gen, funny I can load ifretless bass just fine and other apps as well, just ifretless guitar dosent connect.
This worked. Thanks!

A) Trying to delete unneeded sequences (it's my OCD rearing its organized head again) in a song and for the life of me I can't figure out how to do so. Tried to find a manual (the horror), but for life of me can't find one.
Any guesses with A or B?
EDIT: Arghhhh. Went from this to Boone's note about the muse and inspiration or not (writer's block) and suddenly realized I just needed to drag an empty sucka onto a full sucka. Connection? Barely, but it's all good. Carry on Sergeant-major....
@JohnnyGoodyear This is the closest thing to a manual.

Also, I seem to remember reading somewhere that the documentation will vary depending on what screen you're in.
Thank you Mister Charge. I tend to beat on things with rocks mostly, often effective but not efficient...
I'm returning it. It crashes all the time without saving my work and is stuffed with bugs. It's not fun to work with this. Also many tools like the 'flux link' clip. I cannot understand all those videos on YouTube for this. Why?
It happened to me more than a few times as well, @Macao95... When trying to save my work, the app just crashed and I lost everything.
On my side, the app is a real improvement to my production workflow since v1.1... still far from perfect but I hop Retronyms will keep working good on it :-)
Peace
Am I just old and set in my ways or is the piano roll/timeline view in iMPC fiddly and difficult to use?

It could be better. Is there any quick way to delete notes other than clicking it and bringing up a submenu?

Cut 'em with the 3 finger pluck thing...

Now that's a protip.
I love and hate this kind of information. On one hand it's great to learn such an esoteric tidbit, on the other it makes me wonder grimly about all the other nice little pieces I'm standing on my lawn and shouting about (while missing altogether...).
Thanks Sko.

I wish I had!
iMPC works fine on its own, open it it Cubasis using IAA and the Cubasis CPU meter hits the stops and iMPC lags like hell before locking up the iPad.
Anyone else had this? Or could suggest solitions?
I'm running a retina mini, plenty of space, everything else closed. I've tried resetting the iPad.
Btw, it seems to work ok hosting IAA effects.
Given that people are posting that it works, I'm a little confused.

Problem solved. Don't pick iMPC from the IAA instrument list in Cubasis, as that creates a MIDI track and the system falls over.
Create audio track and siècle iMPC as in input and it all works fine. But then you knew that already! *facepalm
Is there a way to use the multiple tracks in iMPC (with different programs, etc), but use the midi sequencer of Cubasis? Not sure if I can select different midi channels in Cubasis to play different tracks in iMPC Pro?
Just 've bought iMPC Pro. Have some questions after first impressions.
1) No "dragging finger playing" mode. Really? REALLY? It's freaking touchscreen, man! U're afraid users accidently hit "wrong pads"? Damn, at least i have ThumbJam to do insane hi-hat circle rolls (circle 4 pads with your finger)
2) Effects, after BM2 i feel "wut, only that?" - just overdrive and ring modulator per pad + chorus/delay/reverb for bus.
3) Ehm, how to setup which pads are playing reverse? In BM2 u do it quickly, in NanoStudio you even have ping-pong direction.
That being said, i like iMPC's look and interface, especially that floppy disks for projects.
Funny, I think my least favorite part of the UI is the floppies. Neat and nostalgic at first but once you have 10+ projects it just feels silly and like work. Long live file lists (like the type you'd find on your floppies).
Yup. Starts out as a nice gimmick, but now makes me drum my fingers. I know it's just cover for loading and thus I should be patient and wait, but if I could turn it off I would. Prolly a few other things (rightly) up higher on the honey dew list right now...
There is a list of projects that appears on the left when you click three line symbol. It transports you to needed floppy instead of manual swiping them.
Anyway, giving 2nd thought I'd agree that floppy thing is not ergonomic but besides this interface overall is very compact.
P.s.
on my 3rd ipad some demo projects eat 70% or higher of RAM. Mmhm
@Qmishery Thanks for the tip about the left hand list. Amazing how we miss/glide over obvious things
