No Celluar connection there, so no Scaler 2 :)

Does Scaler need a permanent internet connection?

    Number 5 is cheating.

    Lmaooooooo you caught me

Working with that logic, you should have gone

    "1. App Store"

    mate. 😉

On a more positive note, it would be entertaining to watch the honourable members here to try and squeeze out everything from their 10 apps during the couple of hours their ipad battery would last.

    🙌
Since solar panels are not included in the enunciation I’ll take my guitar instead. I’ll intake a few YouTube videos about making guitar strings from serpent skin.

No, not that I’m aware of.

Let’s scale the difficulty up: what is your one “desert island” app?

    2 Caveats:
    1. Solar energy is abundant
    2. App Store app only

    I’ll start: Drambo

  • Korg Gadget with the sampler IAPs and maybe the Bass as well.

If I wanted to actually write, record and finish songs it’d be Zenbeats for sure. It’s the most complete, with sounds, drum sequencer, clips and timeline, automation, etc… it’s got just enough stock fx.
But given that my “audience” would be even smaller than it is today. Why even care about finishing songs?. So I’d go for Drambo. I’d have plenty of time to master it. Go full geek on the desert island. After a few months I might actually understand the sample & hold module.
With Drambo I could put together some lfo-wave-folding device that would act as a snake repellent. Or a variation of that using lfo’s at 22hz paired with a feedback module for a rain-invoking preset.
Do we have iCloud on the island?. I’m wondering how big my crab-pincer sample library could be before running out of space. Might have to limit the velocity layers….

    Haha! You did it...Nice!

A few on there that I 'm not too familiar. But TC-11 is among those apps that feel the iPad was designed for. And Fractal Beats is probably the best 2 Euros I've ever spent :)

Well, i thought it was discussed in the Scaler thread, that if you want to use the in-app purchase, you need to have a wifi connection as a check. Maybe the issue is solved, but i don't know.

As above, if i took only one it would be FLSM, but if i opened it up, it’d be
    FLSM (IAPs)
    SunVox
    Drambo
    BM3 (IAPs)
    Auria Pro (APs)
iMPC Pro 2 (IAPs, plus I want to bring the Element controller. If I cant do the controller i might sub this one out for the formidable microTERA)
    Nave
    Mersenne
Animoog (the 1st now, Z doesn’t run in FLSM)
    Phonem

The reasoning being that each of the DAWs are full of goodies and are inspiring in and of themselves. Unless all the IAPs are considered cheating…

D'ya mean that it constantly checks?

I suppose I should just ask in the Scaler thread?

    Thanks :)

Not sure which way I'd go if only one app were aloud. I'm tempted to say Drambo, despite never having tried it, solely on account of it being so self-contained in terms of sounds and FX. Just not sure I'd be able to forever give up a traditional timeline :(

On desktop, this becomes a much easier question as I could do everything I wanted to do with Logic Pro ;)

Wow I was just thinking of making a top 5 desert island thread so perfect timing. Now gimme a few days to think of my answer haha. I think for right now it would be:

    Borderlands.
    Thumbjam.
    Gauss.
    Fundamental.
    Scaler 2.
    Skiiid.
    Playbeat.
    Cubasis 3.
    Sampletron.
    Synthmaster 2.

No Celluar connection there, so no Scaler 2 :)

I would rather bring a coffin full of books and a solar panel with a world radio receiver.

    I didn’t realize scaler 2 needed wifi/data??

In that case I’ll just add Drambo lol
