Should we already open a monster thread called "Scaler 2 vs Progressions" ? 🤪

I feel like there’s a little Tonality in there too. Along with some originality.

    You're right 😉.

    What a Gratouillious question.

The one that will, for sure, tickle lots of wallets around here 😎

I love Scaler, ChordPolyPad, ChordJam and QuantiChord but I can never have enough chord progression apps???

This looks awesome, and works on iPhone! For anyone else wondering, in the comments he said should be available by the weekend :D

Ohh.. it is the weekend.. maybe soon..

  • Or 1 minute passed midnight
Is when lots of apps have dropped in the uk during a weekend release
    Sooner would be better thou

  • It’s arrived and only 7.99 here in the UK.

  • I see it now
Can’t purchase till I get home
Look forward to some reports on this app
Loving scaler 2 on the iPad, but this is universal so gonna be used a lot on my phone

I can’t see it if it is.

Also file transfer seems to be by web transfer. What’s that about.

Following which you are prompted to type an ip address into your browser on your Mac/pc

Kinda get the feeling stand alone mode is discouraged 🫤

  • It’s out already…

  • @BiancaNeve
    Ouch that doesn’t sound nice
Like you say might have to just record from AUM straight in to loopy pro or to file player

Better call Saul, ehhh....Paul @4pockets_paul Can you give us information about this?

@Jumpercollins Maybe it's better to change the topic title in 'released'

  • Obviously not intended for stand alone operation.

  • Awesome, instabuy!

  • Instabuy for me too - I was also naughty early this morning and bought a Korg Minilogue XD module - finally got a analog polysynth. Time to test Progressions with it!

  • I probably don’t need it but will probably buy it just to support Paul because I love his apps so much. Are there any big differences between Scaler 2 and Tonality?

Well, five minutes in and already got something going. Haven’t got a clue what I am doing, but it sounds great with Factory - instant ambient soundscape. I don’t understand this or Scaler, but that doesn’t stop me using both of them, and I think I can already see important differences.

E.g. I love Scalers ability to develop chord progressions from an audio loop I play it, which Progressions can’t do.

But Progressions can immediately give me a playing, evolving sequence automatically, which sounds great. (Maybe Scaler can too, but I haven’t rtfm’ed it, and besides - in Progressions, I just hit ‘Generate’ and ‘Play’, job done. )

Think I’m going to like it…

update : literally my first minute right here:

Note - had to open it standalone and reboot my iPad to get it recognised inside AUM. Maybe just me…

  • What’s good is that you can send MIDI from Progressions to Scaler 2 and…augmented pleasure

Yup, bought it, “generate”, “play”…. Apesoft electric… instant happy

Nice, will love to see a feature to sync multiple instances (Bass, melody, lead, etc.) and a detachable, scalable Arp, Strum editor with savable phrases.. even purchase pack phrases..

    Welcome back Paul.. 👌

Seems the Sync Instances feature is in there... Wow..

Now, if only we can get Lumbeats to update his iBassist to Auv3... uhh.

Edit... and the Randomize feature in the Arp is nice..

  • I absolutely love it, really nice chord progressions and freedom to play with it!

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but can someone explain why the first note generated is the first inversion rather than root position? App seems great on first play too. Very easy to navigate.

  • @Spud I noticed in his video on YouTube that when he talks about loading the chords in regular triad position, when he loads a C Major chord it’s actually inverted. Wondering if it’s a bug.

Does anyone know if this is standard pricing for the app or Intro pricing?

  • I’m so close to an Apple gift card on a receipt rewards app, as soon as it’s available I know where it’s going. Lol.

I've messaged him via FB with the question.

Cool. I think he is somewhat likely to respond on YouTube as well. Let us know what you find out, cheers.
