Uber cool synth and the support is brilliant. had what I thought was a bug, but it was RTFM. Man replied on Sat with explanation. So that you know.
Deleted comment (dumb user lol)
Well, after lusting after it for a few months now I finally pulled the trigger and I regret waiting so long now. This might be Icegears best synth, and that’s saying a lot as they’ve made some of my favorites. Killer app. Far beyond just FM.
It’s literally every type of synthesis except granular under one roof, so to speak. I was showing it off to a buddy and he said it sounded like a high end hardware synth .
I honestly don’t know what Iceworks could do to follow this up with . If Brian Wilson’s SMiLE was a soft synth it’d be Nambu.
I hope Icework will come up with something rhythm/percussion based synth with a sequencer.
I agree except my favorite Beach Boys album came after Smile (Surfs Up) 😂 so maybe that bodes well for Icegear lol
I agree with your friend. It sounds amazing.
Couldn’t agree me. A deep physical modeling drum synth with a sequencer is my dream app for iOS at the moment.
When you look at their arpeggiator for example, that thing could be turned into an awesome sequencer, it’s already there. And their synths are very percussive in a lot of ways. Icegear would be the perfect candidate to do that. Maybe I’ll drop an email to the developer, who knows..
I’d love to see it happen. Kronecker gives a good idea of how awesome it could be.
Just started with Nambu.
Probably the best patch Iv ever made.
Is there a bug.
The Envelopes of B and E are linked.
You cant adjust without adjusting the other.
80s Mayan.
@sigma79 You won’t share a few free patches in this thread for us to download, lol.
I only made the above patch.
Can send it ( if you tell me how )
Or I can maybe make others.
B & E have the same Group (A). That means adjusting either will adjust them both.
Cheers wim.
Noticed after posting
but thanks for reply.
That sounds amazing!
Thanks.
Could maybe be made a tune.
Think its why I dont complete tunes. Always waiting for the mix and its what it sounds like. A dj mix.
but with a tune. In theory can add effects and then no effects or use gains of each oscilator.
You made me make another patch.
What do you think?
Sweet! Gives me some ideas 😎
Sweet mate.
Hey @echoopera — Did @Spidericemidas ever create any presets like this?
I found this thread whilst looking for Digitone-like sounds for my iPad, iPhone and desktop. I'm currently testing out Omega, but what I really want is a Digitone/Digitone-like sound on my iPad and my MacBook Pro.
Currently, the nearest I have got is working with the Opsix Native on my Mac, and Nambu on iOS, but Bleass Omega looks an interesting option for iOS too.
Open question — How does Bleass Omega compare with Nambu? (When seeking Digitone-like FM sounds on iOS).
Probably not a bad idea to link to examples of the kinds of sounds you are interested in.
Am I correct that there’s no option to pan in Nambu?
I was going along with the sound packs that @echoopera was referring to, so no need to add.
No.
It isnt common for synths to pan. Some can.
You would think Nambu can because the normal oscilators can be an individual synth but the oscilators also route via the matrix ( which is also for fm ) and doubt you would pan fm.
They would need to add pan and the matrix for oscilators would need to be different/only for non fm oscilators.
Yea it makes sense to not pan operators, I meant panning the final voices after the matrix algorithm, if you’re familiar with ableton’s operator synth you can pan the final sound after FM synthesis
Abelton can pan seperate voices of fm ?
It can separate them for panning after FM has been applied, there’s a random note panner in Operator Synth that can pan every new note to a random within a specified range. It can also do S&H to filter per voice and so.
There’s pan to key and pan random
Nothing fancy just post-FM pre-filter pan
This thread has veered into so many interesting directions. What’s that lit keyboard that @carlcaulkett is using, for starters?
Also good suggestions of some banks I didn’t knew existed.
Bottom line: I love nambu
