  • @Poppadocrock Actually, that's EDT, GMT-4. Just to avoid confusion.

I thought it was 10Am Pacific Time which is US west Coast, I’m on the East Coast which is 3 hours ahead so 1pm Eastern Standard Time.

  • 6pm in UK ….

Yea 5 hours ahead of me. I watch a ton of EPL.

  • I updated title to hopefully clarify. Thanks.

  • It will just be another batch of new stuff that I can’t afford but will want anyway, ho hum.

  • Is Tim awake yet !

  • I'm going to finish work early and then walk the dog so I'm free for the event. I do like the Apple Events. It's like stepping into the future.

I hear ya. Times is tough. But I’m way overdue for a new iPhone so I’ve been waiting for today for over 6 months to see if I’m going to get an iPhone 13, 13pro, 14, etc… I’m very interested in the upcoming discounts that will be applied to previous models. Yesterday I saw the soon to be previous model iPad for $275 or so.. granted it’s the basic, Wi-Fi only model with 64gb but that’s a good price. Even if you aren’t concerned about new features or products, older models will get discounted after the release, so it’s a good time to buy a device.

It’s PDT for sure, which is GMT -7 if anyone wants to calculate from GMT.

Yes, but we're on Daylight Savings Time until November (?), so 1 PM Eastern Daylight Time, which is one hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time. That's all. Lately, broadcasters (and Apple) have dropped the S or D, so ET is just the current prevailing time on the east coast. I just wanted to clarify for overseas readers.

Hopefully a sign of things to come. It’s about time we dispensed with daylight savings time.

That’s exactly what I’m thinking Pops. The 13s should drop $100 and from what I’ve hear on the rumor mill, the base 14 isn’t going to be much of an upgrade. If fact, one rumor stated Apple may actually lower the price on the base 14 by $50 just because not much will be new. I guess we’ll find out in a hour and a half.

I feel for people who bought new phones in the past month. My friend’s daughter was buying one last week and I urged him to have her wait — but they went ahead and got her one anyway. I should have just remained silent, because he and his wife made the same mistake last year. Some folk you just can’t reach.

On the other hand, I just received a brand new iPhone SE 3 (2022) for free, just for switching my mobile provider.
No contract, and about $10 pay-by-month for 3GB data.

I'm not about to complain that my new free iPhone isn't the latest and greatest. :)

  • They might give you a $100 gift card on top it — like I received back in the day when I purchased an iPhone at Kmart!

  • I need Ovulation cycle deviation in my life. Need to get that Apple Watch 8.

  • When I first got my Apple Watch years ago I tried cycle tracking on a cycle ride – absolutely fucking nothing to do with cycling at all. Stupid idiotic feature name, what cretin thought that up?

  • All day 18 hour battery life. Well, which is it?

  • Low power mode at last.

  • Why can’t I design my own watch face? Most of the watch faces are idiotically badly designed with the time over on the right side which places it under the sleeve cuff. You basically have to take your coat off, take your jumper off, take your jumper off, take your jumper off, take your jumper off, take your jumper off, take your jumper off, take your jumper off, take your jumper off, take your jumper off, take your jumper off, take your jumper off, take your jumper off, take your jumper off, take your jumper off, take your jumper off, take your jumper off, and undo your shirt sleeve all the way up your arm to see the time. The time should be on the left side of the watch face, if it’s not big enough to fill the screen.

  • That Pro watch looks lovt

Best thing so far: field recording the narrators in the mountains for the Watch Ultra. Bravo.

Anyone spot where they placed the mics?

  • £800 for a watch.

  • Judging by the length of this watch segment, they haven’t got a lot to announce.

  • Somebody let me know if they announce a new Mac Mini.

That’s OK, the pound is sliding ever closer to equity with the dollar, so you might as well say it’s the same price regardless of which currency.

  • Was hoping for lower latency.

    They're not announcing Macs today
