It does! Yeah me too, I’ll hang on for the official release, and I can already record audio in anyway via the Push.
The Move is starting to sound pretty tasty too.
I really love the Move! It's a great standalone device, and a pretty nice Live controller to boot.
Just revisited this, and it does work - I missed the additional settings link (two dots) at the bottom of the app.
So in the MIDI settings, the mk4 is detected and can be selected, and then via the Mapping section, you can assign the 8 mk4 encoders, to Note’s macros. There’s a few other options - such as start/stop, but these didn’t seem to get picked up when I tried.
So a decent amount of control, plus keys and drum pads, but the encoders seemed to be a bit ‘sticky’ when I used it - I had to wiggle them about a fair bit to get picked up, and when switching tracks had to re-wriggle them again. Could just be my keyboard, or maybe a shorter cable or powered interface might help?
So it kinda works, but I wouldn’t trust it in a live situation!
Note 2.0.1 Update
Audio Tracks & Recording
Record audio loops in session or track view.
Audio loops are warped, so they adapt their tempo without changing the pitch and vice versa.
Tapping + in Session brings up a context menu to record or load a sample
While recording in session, tap other clip slots to keep recording new clips
Capture FX Automation on existing clips or automate while recording
Control to change clip tempo by BPM and double/half tempo
Dials for clip gain and transpose
Tap on grid ruler to adjust the grid and tempo.
Swipe up and down on waveform to change clip gain
Loop different sections of a clip via the loop brace
Input Monitoring
Audio inputs can be monitored and processed through audio tracks
Input monitoring is enabled from the audio track view or from the track context menu in session view, it's exclusive and fixed to the track it is enabled on
Indicator on track icon shows the input signal in real time
Updated the empty sampler view with the same features as the empty audio clip.
Removed "Input Monitoring" toggle from Settings since this is now managed from within the set
Audio Interface Support
Input sources can now be selected from the built in microphones and external connected devices.
Accessed from the microphone button in the empty audio clip and sampler views
Auto Shift
Added Auto Shift as a new FX Device for real time pitch correction, vibrato and formant shifting
Erosion
Added Erosion as a new FX Device for adding noise and grit to a sound.
Link Audio
New settings in the Link Menu for Link Audio. Live stream Note's audio to Live and Push.
Improvements
Overhauled interactions with stop Buttons now appearing on playing clips
Tapping a clip again while stop has been triggered re-triggers the clip
New add-track buttons: Beat, Synth, and Audio track
Piano layout is now the default for melodic tracks.
C Major is the default key for new sets.
Last used key and tempo are remembered when creating a new set.
Tapping a visual control (filter, LFO, ADSR, etc.) enters a focused single parameter access mode. iPad shows visual and dials side by side. Done button exits.
VoiceOver support for visual controls and single parameter access.
Improved performance for large sample libraries
Browser now updates when directory contents change (e.g. adding loops in other apps)
Searching now includes external folders
Refreshed AutoPan-Tremolo device UI with real-time visualisation
Tapping a parameter dial opens a context menu with Reset and Insert/Mute/Delete Automation actions. This replaces the parameter menu on the bottom half of the screen.
Tweaked contrast for usability on Drum MIDI Editor
Delay: Updated LFO Parameter options
In an empty set, the metronome will no longer turn on automatically. Instead a count in will play.
Ableton Note update is 🔥🔥🔥
I’m trying to figure out how to sample iOS apps in Note with this new audio recording capability. I guess you could connect two iOS devices via an audio interface the old fashioned way. Would that work?
Or a loopback audio interface that will just take the output and send it back in.
