Midi sends a lot of duplicates, it gives me troubles on drambo.

@cokomairena Can you confirm that you are not receiving MIDI from Audanika's "All, Bass, Chord, Melody" simultaneously? Either use "All" or the other three.

Yes, that was it! However in All mode I receive a double note for the melody and the chord.

The only problem about this is that it requires an extra step on whatever app you want to use because the normal behavior is to listen to all on the focused track.

Also if i want to use another midi app i have to reconfigure my host. I think this setting should be selected on audanikas menu to let me listen to all my midi things at the same time.

Agree. Is on my list. Wonder if I just should remove the "all" virtual MIDI port. 🤔 Seems to be too dangerous.

Yes, that would be a good first step. That would fix everything except the melody being repeated, the only fix I see to preserve the functionality without repeated notes is to have options on the midi menu to mute/unmute virtual ports.

What are you meaning by "That would fix everything except the melody being repeated"?

Right now both chord and melody ports output the melody note. so if you get rid of "all" port it will means that when listening to all the ports on a host (the default behaivour) the bass will be recieved once, the chord will be recieved once except for the melody note, that wil be send in both melody and chord port so you will end with two melody note on and off.

I understand. Thats true. I don't see a good solution to this issue, except writing a good explanation in the not-yet-existing manual.

One solution I think would be being able to disable the melody midi output on the midi setup menu.

Another feature I would like is a midi velocity from the accelerometer, like how this works: https://apps.apple.com/cl/app/bass-guitar-one/id1437775064?l=en

Is it not enough to stop listening to melody notes by just disabling the "Audanika Melody" port?

Good idea with the MIDI velocity. I have added it to feature requests.
Did you check out the "Motion" extension?

I've checked the motion extension, but I didn't find a very good use case for it, I would prefer a traditional mod/pitch wheel.

I'm sorry about bombarding you with ideas, but now that I said pitchwheel I would like to try an extensions that bends notes when you drag instead of changing the note, I think that's into MPE territory tho and I have no idea how that works, but I would love to bend the melody.

It is not because Drambo has an "ALL" port, or you can choose ONE virtual port, so I think this is more a problem with drambo than Audanika

  • Messing with configs I found that I can use two channels on drambo and transpose the chord one octave down, and mix it with the melody and it sounds great.

I think I'll process Audanika's midi on AUM and then send that to Drambo as working with ports and midi in drambo is not very intuitive for me.

  • Audanika 3.0.2 is on the way to the AppStore, following things fixed:

    • BREAKING CHANGE: The virtual MIDI port "Audanika All" has been removed. Reason: Many apps listen to all virtual ports by default and thus received MIDI events twice.
    • Switching between songs caused multiple MIDI issues, e.g. empty MIDI menu, silent sound, wrong alert
    • The note D# was in the wrong octave sometimes
    • Fix wrong highlighting when the hold button was active
    • Wrong circle size for tied notes
