    New and on Intro Pricing

GSDSP Magic Pitch is $19.99 - 50% off intro pricing

GSDSP Magic Blur is $19.99 - also 50% off intro pricing

Doug from @thesoundtestroom is doing a live video on both apps starting in 30 minutes on YouTube

How many will realistically buy these plugs at full price? Genuinely curious.

I mean lots of people bought Crystalline, MixBox, Sampletron, etc. The bigger iOS gets and the further the tech goes, the more apps will cost im afraid.

4P Audio Shredder is $4 off at $1.99 - anyone like this one?

Curious about this one too. Super good deal but the App Store reviews are kinda middle of the road.

I’d wager that the majority bought those apps at a intro/sale price. I’d be curious to know how many units of those apps sold at regular price. Probably only a small handful.

I really doubt it’s a “small handful”. For sure they sell more when the apps are discounted but people will buy it regardless if they really want it and it can add something to someone’s set up. I bought Sampletron and Crystalline full price and know a couple of people who did the same. Worthy investments to me. And it’s still much cheaper than the majority of VST/desktop plugins, and people buy those by the boat load.

I think the days of the majority of apps being $10 or less are all but over. Technology has come a long way and you can do a lot more with an iPad now. To the point it’s close to desktop quality. I think $20-$50 will be the going rate for bigger apps, especially in the future.

I think so - with apps like Mixbox it's easier to charge a high price as you can argue that it's the only fx app you'll ever need etc - not saying that's my opinion - and people might feel that they will save money in the long term by buying that instead of buying a bunch of separate fx and mastering tools etc. For more niche apps which do one thing but do it very well and very innovatively, it may be hard to get people willing to pay high prices. Some will, many won't.

I think short term that might be true. But when the apps don't sell very well the devs will leave iOS and go back to desktop where they get enough sales to make it worthwhile.

I don't know, but I suspect that was the experience Audio Damage had.

I can definitely see both sides. Either way it’s going to be interesting to watch over the next couple years. Especially once most people have an M1 iPad.

What’s weird is their apps were some of the more reasonable on iOS. But I guess that means smaller margins.

I have no idea about their situation.

Maybe they sold lots of iOS apps but technical probems keeping the apps up to date with the desktop versions made the iOS market not viable.

Maybe the cost of porting to iOS was too much.

Who knows, other than Audio Damage themselves.

Still a bummer because I really enjoy a lot of their apps and they’ve made some of my favorites. Have they explicitly said they’re done with iOS? I feel like I remember reading that.

I don't know the answer to that.

If they have finished with iOS apps I doubt that they would publicly say so if they still have apps for sale in the App Store.

Right on. Here’s the recent price history if that helps, but if you have an alert set and check your email that’s probably your best bet. Maybe March if history is an indication. I do what I can but I rely on several sites posting the sales to then curate the best ones for this thread. Good luck. Cheers!
