FAC Transient is also really useful in a lot of situations. Ive used it as a critical part of my bass guitar rig when I was in a classic rock/Grateful dead cover band for a few years for a nice way to bring out that classic thumpy bass guitar tone and ring out the resonance slowly. Really adds a lot once you get the hang of it.

Also that chorus is amazing in subtle or wild situations and has a thick and original chorus sound.

Envolver can also be used for some very fascinating experiments but I haven’t used it as much ever since more apps finally started incorporating multi out and Sidechain stuff

FACs are also of the most stable and least taxing AUVs on my DSP too
    Can’t recommend their stuff enough!

I agree with all of the. Maxima is a great “magic sauce” type app for me and has proven very stable.

I just got Envolver (for free during the bundle sale) so I’m just now about to dive in with it.

Damn, Pure Acid is very cool. For those who consider it, go for it! Even the drummachine alone is great, old school programming. It’s too long ago for me to compare it with the 303 I had, but this sounds just great, the acid spirit is all there. Quality product.

I put Dougs tutorial here as well, very helpful.

  • PolyNome The Metronome is free for a limited time usually $4.99-$9.99

  • Utility

FYTube YouTube Without Ads is free usually $14.99

Please remember to watch ads for our iOS content creators

FWIW, I had a Behringer TD-3 which I sold after A/B comparing it to Pure Acid. At least compared to a modern clone, Pure Acid's sound is spot on (and the sequencer isn't an exercise in pain :D ).

The sequencer is great, been playing with it for a few hours now. And it’s not made of plastic, that’s the only thing I remember from my 303 :#

Holy crap that FAC bundle sale is amazing. Just got Phazer, maxima, medusa, and alteza all for only $0.99 🤯

It said 2.86 for the bundle for me - I hadn’t got Envolver and Phazer yet, I thought great and bought it. It’s only given me Envolver even though the bundle shows as purchased. And I was only interested in Phazer. 😂

  • Are FAC plugins universal, working on Mac?

  • @tobi77 It seems there are Mac versions, but the iOS apps are not a universal purchase. You buy one or the other. Unfortunate, but as a smaller hardworking dev, it was probably a difficult financial decision.

If I could only pick one non host app it would be Pure Acid. It’s an essential part of my sound and it’s just a blast to play with.

Completely agree. Transient is one of my most used plugins.

Is it showing up on the Home Screen? If it’s just not showing up in a host, try restarting the iPad.

How does it compare to the Blue Mangoo one? When I first bought transient I was going back and forth between those 2. I chose FAC because of the pedigree he has as a dev, but always wondered how the other one was out of curiosity. I just don’t need 2 transient apps.

I did the same thing lol. I hated using that sequencer and always had pure acid sequencing it anyway.

Surely this is just the fairest option otherwise non Mac owning iOS users end up paying extra for added functionality which is nonexistent for them (assuming universal apps would mean a price rise)?

No prob! Was just curious. The FAC one seems a bit more fully featured any way

It really is excellent and I prefer it to the transient options available in Logic Pro (on desktop and on iPadOS), so it's always my go-to plugin.

  • Calmus Remote is free usually $9.99, recently had an update too…

  • Sheet Music Scanner is free usually $4.99, does have IAP subscriptions, but not sure if they are new or not.

Still showing as 9.99 on my iPhone, but for some reason on my iPad it had unlocked and downloaded itself without me doing anything so I’m sure it’ll sort itself out. Cheers! What a great deal.

  • XinematiX has an IAP on Sale! Class Orchestra is $8 off at $6.99
