Anyone used those Sugar Bytes effects a lot? I have all their apps besides those 3 and Thesys. But I’ve been eying them for a while. The bundle is nearly half off.

WoW is something like Vulcan from FF, I have them both for simple reasons, they have different filters. Turnado is a phenomenal multi fx, I love the ‘director’ feature for really easy automation control. Effectrix, obviously sequenced multi fx, I’m using it for a different reason than it was designed for. ;)

Thesys good for DAW-less experiments(imho) but Drambo took his place in my workflow, now collecting digital dust in my MIDI Sequencers folder.

You mean Volcano from FabFilter or am I thinking of something else? I have Volcano and it’s absolutely fantastic.

I also have a couple of apps that do what those do. Like Bleass Motion FX, but Turnado and Effectrix look super deep.

I love Drambo but I really only use it to make one off synths and instruments for certain tracks and not as an all-in-one like a lot of people do. I probably need to start lol

Sry, it’s not a god of fire. It's just Volcano, indeed.🤪 If you love Volcano you will love WoW even more, because it’s quick and easy without losing deepness. Love formants mangling and cool sequencers, unusual UI. Also has a great collection of presets.

Turnado is great for transitions, but also programmed rhythm changes which you can control with ‘director’. Synth or voice color mangling, drums… Only imagination is the limit, but the main reason why I’m using this specific multi fx is the ‘director’ feature.

Keep in mind, I’m not a professional.

Thanks! Time to watch some demos and see what I decide 🤪

The one I like the most is Turnado. Amazing effect app but needs to be tamed. The presets are not good though because they are too extreme to my taste. If you put in the time it is very rewarding. Sometimes you'll feel that you don't need anything else. And the dictator is something unique

Funny that all of the rock and metal ones (8180, mrh, dual 3 channel, bogner, hardball) are in the Tonex base

Probably to give some competition, but that means nembrini is that good huh?

Tough call. Anyone have nembrini to compare to the tonex, any of those 4 on sale ??

  • Productivity

ExtracTables - image to excel is free usually $2.99. Only 1 review and it’s not so good but sounds like a promising app

Not sure about Tonex since the reviews aren’t great, but to me Overloud and Nembrini are definitely the leading simulators. I also like Rhino but I use it less. Nembrini are pretty light, decent configurations for speaker+mic combinations, and very straightforward to use. Overloud THU is a beast, with tons of options, but you can be buying rigs and IRs for years.

I recommend Flo’s demos. He plays great and showcases them with no fuss. Here’s one:

  • Thanks ( that’s why I think I’m going to just grab a nembrini : simple, exactly what I’m looking for, and includes cab and mic)

I’ll go through the demos , and let you know whcih I go with

  • Lemon Metronome is free again with new ui/gui usually $.99

Thanks. Definitely gonna be doing some research later. I think I have enough filter apps but Turnado looks awesome and I’ve heard it’s great for sound mangling.

I had to turn off notifications on appraven, was getting notifications almost every day, and all discounts are more or less same price as previous one. It's a terrible marketing imo.

You can load in user samples. Could be a cool free way to add some lofi saturation to your samples. Thanks for posting!

The other app prices I am following have not moved.

Maybe because they are mostly USA apps and Korg is Japan? Who knows...?

EDIT: Module has come down from AU$63 to $60.

  • VirSyn sale on seemingly ALL of them!

  • Fabfilter sale (!)
