bumping this @j_liljedahl
You might want to contact him directly. He might not be visiting AB Forum much:

There's also his the AUM Discord.
Thanks, have contacted him twice there. I'll look into the Discord link, thanks again.
Sorry for the delay, "life got in the way" as they say
I hadn't had time to update and test 16.4 but today I did, and I can reproduce the missing background audio. Will look into that, hopefully an easy fix since AUM still works as expected in that regard.
However I can't see that missing back arrow issue, would you mind posting a screenshot and instructions of how to reproduce this?
Sending a screenshot and how to reproduce in a Message, thanks for responding!
That pesky life stuff...
Something interesting: AudioShare works in background when using stage manager, even if minimized. You can use for example AUM or anything else in foreground and fullscreen at the same time. @j_liljedahl Good workaround waiting for a fix.
I don't think the developer ever managed to find or fix the bug where after playing many (10 or 20+) different samples in Audioshare the "playhead curser" vanishes.
You can only get it back by quitting and relaunching.
A bit annoying.
Correct, I haven't found any obvious error in the code, and have never been able to reproduce it myself.
I will look at it again (and probably rewrite the whole waveform-display) when I do AudioShare3
Yeah - it's a weird one. No worries. Even with that bug that sometimes happens, AudioShare is still a great and useful app.
When is Audioshare 3 going to appear?
This just happened to me for the first time ever. As you mentioned a simple close and reopen fixes it. I am on 16.4 but my iPad is filled up, and so is audioshare, so it could be a storage glitch.
114.7 out of 256 GB used here; probably not related to storage.
iPad 9, iOS 16.4.1
Any word about a fix yet, @j_liljedahl ?
You can always turn on stage-manager and have the apps side-by-side and voila audio keeps on playing even when you have it in the 'side bar'.
Same for me iPad Pro latest iOS ... open a file from AudioShare as fileplayer in AUM, press play, stop, Go back to audioshare and back arrow has gone... this is most common way to recreate
If this can't get fixed soon, I wonder what the alternative apps would be, I don't think there's one that can do all that AudioShare can do? @j_liljedahl says he's working on it at least...
Will this ever be fixed?
Have you contacted the developer?
Many times as the previous posts detail.
Same issue here 16.4.1…pity,this is one of the best apps on iOS.Hopefully the developer has a fix
Sorry, for various reasons I've been unable to work on this, but hoping to be able to very soon!
Odd detail: got a 12.9” M1 last week that I set up/configured from my previous iPad. The new one does play audio in background… while the old one (and my iPhone) still don’t.
Oh the joy of Apple iOS updates!
iPhone SE 2020 16.5 background mode - yes
iPad 2021 9gen 16.5 - no
Though in this case it seems a hardware upgrade did something?
Both iPads on 16.5.
Maybe sample rate related? I don’t know..
Some (hopefully) helpful notes. Just done a test with my iPad 6th gen on 16.4.1(a).
Background playback stops if AudioShare isn’t in the foreground. However, if I output AUM to Audiobus and Audiobus to AudioShare for recording with reverb tails etc recording carries on in the background as it used to. Also tried it with just the mic in AudioShare, and background recording still worked, so it’s a playback issue.
On the disappearing arrow, you can still get back to the parent folder by swiping from the left of the screen. If you then go into a folder again, the arrow comes back. I can only get it to disappear by playing something and putting it into the background so it stops playback. When you switch back the arrow is gone.
+1. ASAP please Jonatan! Cheers, ED
