  • @Jumpercollins
Slide ya finger on the fx button
It will change to av3 button

  • Looks like they are in the Effects section

There is a separate section for the AUV effects. See Cuscolima’s post above to find the AUV instruments.

  • dev dude is on fire

  • Oh man this changes the game. Dev really is on fire right now. This and Wavebox have quickly become 2 of my favorites.

  • Dawnbeat is cool but sorting choke groups is so confusing. Link pads etc is weird. Any tips?. TIA

  • how do you play the Au instrument? is there a midi onscreen keyboard ?

There’s a piano tab (middle of screen) beside the AUv3 tab..

  • Wavebox is universal with intel Mac’s too. This has got my attention!

Anyone manage to record in AU radio unit or other similar web apps into Dawnbeat yet if so how we need audio tracks I suppose for this to work. For live use running in the background it works.

Also can you record in AU instruments with the built in effects applied on top into a sequence? I tried but the effects are not recorded in on the signal ? Great for live but not so good for project creation.

The red speaker at the top right of the screen is for resampling. Press that and it records anything that’s playing

@FordTimeLord Still learning the app and I didn’t know that brilliant cheers.

No worries. It’s a great app but the UI takes a bit of getting used to

  • I admit I've not gotten this app yet but I do have a few questions to those that have it.

Is the sampling 'locked' to [email protected] (even on 48K locked devices) just like WaveBox from the same developer?
How well does it work with external multi-channel audio-interfaces when it comes to input channel selection for sampling?
WaveBox has no options for this either so I guess it's the same with this app.

My guts say, locked to [email protected] with no input channel selection...

You can change the sample rate globally and also for the recording. There’s also a ‘Downsample’ option per pad. No idea about the audio interface thing though.

    Thanks!

    Still @ 16-bit if I'm not mistaken?
    16-bit is ok when it's a digital source (AUv3, Screen-Recording etc.) or a 'hot' line-level signal.

I have a feeling the prime goal for Dawn Beat is to not focus on technicalities but have fun using it :sunglasses:

Yep, I think you’re right. It’s a resampling, happy accident machine. The free demo is well worth a try 👍

  • @Samu : For for now Koala is the more “pro” sampling app?

I guess so and I'm really partial here as Koala is one of my all-time absolute favorite apps :sunglasses:
And if I need to sequence AUv3's I've always got Drambo for that...

  • @Telstar5 said:

Hard to say as Dawnbeat arguably has more “pro” features as it can host AU effects and instruments. But it doesn’t have the years of development Koala has so it’s not as streamlined and intuitive yet but I think it’s well on its way. Will it usurp Koala? Probably not for me but I love using both.

Definitely. Especially with AU hosting per pad, you can get some crazy drones and stuff going.

  • is it possible to copy one pad to another. something like Koala does?

You can but it isn’t quite as immediate as Koala, you have to go to the pads manager in the menu:

Menu > Pads > Pads Manager

  • Anyone know how many AU FX does it allow per pad?

  • Anyone has made some music that could share with dawn beat? I interesting on watching the workflow
