Gauss Update: Now with Sample Import
Significant update for your favourite field looper:
- import of audio files (the button says WAV, but it will import mp3, AIFF, M4A, etc...)
- louder playback in standalone (use headphones to avoid feedback!)
- smaller save files; ~50% space saving
- visual UI update (bigger touch strip, less clutter, ... )
- standalone UI now handles both notch and dynamic island
- performance improvements and minor bugfixes
The update should be trickling down the Appstores right now...

oh hell yes
Excellent, thank you!
what else can i say?
Brilliant!
Thank you Mr B 🙏
I missed out on the launch announcement for this. Looks interesting. What use cases are folks using this for?
Thanks @brambos for this update I love many of your apps and particularly Gauss
Soundscapes, for me. I load up a few instances, record into each, then play with the outputs - speed/pitch changes, reverse etc. Wonderful app.
Made this with 4 (actually 3 in the end) instances of gauss and a couple of effects, recorded some noise and piano noodling:
Very nice - thank you!
🌋🌋🌋🌋💪💪💪💪🚀
Sounds lovely.
Actually sounds like it’s been recorded on tape.
Easily my most used Bram app, love it. Use it for Frippertronics style looping especially, but also for soundscapes etc with several instances running at different speeds, backwards, with different fx applied etc.
Anyone else having problems exporting into AudioShare?
It seems to create a new file with no audio in it.
Could be user error...
Just bought it
I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to do? It imports audio. Export/share is only for preset files (which include all the looping/sequencer metadata etc.)
Oh man this is great update. Thank you @brambos stoked for this
Very good, great atmosphere.
OK, no problem.
Like I said, idiot user error.
Thanks!
You should see me fumble my way through all the hosts I’m unfamiliar with while testing
Thank you so much! That's Reels for tape effect there.
Thanks so much for listening!
Wow, amazing!!! Thank you! 🙌🏼
@brambos Thank you🙏
Stellar update mate! Much needed and always appreciated! This may be a silly question, but how long of an audio file can you now load in Gauss?
It's limited to the tape-length (at 1x speed), so it will be cut off at 45 seconds
Thanks Bram! Awesome! Great update, makes one of my most favorite apps even better!
Great atmosphere, and I like the slightly disturbing video.
Thanks for letting me know mate.
Not seeing it yet in SW USA.
excellent and unexpected update. thank you as always Bram !! @cyberheater its great for drones, warbles, etc, but you can make some really cool loops with it too. use the sequencer in Trig mode and pull the vca decay way back. adjust speed and steps/ mutate + delay and filter to taste. export and trim into a beat synced loop
