  • Anyone bought this?

I’ve purchased the Kawai but I won’t have it for two weeks,

The OSMOSE should come about the same time.

Just in time to play with Pianoteq for iOS!

So this is the last piece of gear I’ve purchased. I love the Matriarch so much. The first time I messed with it when it arrived, it completely blew my mind how good it sounds. Anyways no more large toys for me for awhile. It was a serious investment for me.

  • Safe to say I won’t be returning to the iPad for beat making. Been using the iPad exclusively for 5+ years but going back to my roots with the MPC and it’s been very exciting.

This + the iPad as a sound source is a killer combo.

I sold my 707 a while back and kind of miss it. Might grab the little brother one day soon.

  • It’s an excellent machine. It’s nice to have some hands on control.

  • I found a Roli Seaboard Block, practically brand new in the box at Guitar Center for $225 a few weeks ago. I’ve wanted one ever since SWAM started making iOS apps. I have been enjoying the expression it allows and almost a year ago I found a practically brand new Roli Lightpad Block in the box on Facebook Marketplace for $90. The lady who sold it to me originally bought it for her daughter and her daughter never used it.

I feel like my Roli devices are blessings, meant for me when I found them.

  • A second hand ES2 which I’ve installed the Hacktribe firmware on.

The only problem with the ipad drum system I made.

Is you got way too much functionality.

but it would cost about £1250 give or take ipad choice and a bit of functionality loss ( for setup at the mo ) which isnt essential but convienient ( - another £300 )

It would take me till im 80 to save £500 but spent that on another ipad. Where there is the option of getting an ipad replaced ( perhaps or perhaps not ) Then returning the ipad just bought.

    But I guess I wont.

Will be glad to be screen glitch free. Nightmare if you buy an additional glitch device though.

  • absolutely love it… bought 2-3 weeks ago. amazing machine, very deep

The Isla drum machine looks kinda cool because of faders and sound on a speaker system.

Were just thinking to swap a pc12 with a faderfox mx12. Just for dub faders ( if any good ) as Iv got 12 tracks ( enough ) and forget about convieniet knob mappings of pc12.

But the prices are £635 now without tax and customs.

    bought mine way less.

    Best buds with the iPad

Bought it really cheap at a market in Ecuador a few weeks ago. It's actually very well tuned which I was surprised about for the price.

Love my 101. I use it on its own as a groovebox and a rompler, and for sequencing with Xequence, and now SAND.

I bought one back in 2020 during the pandemic. All of that time on my hands made me do it! Haha
I convinced my wife that THIS would be my last synth purchase….

spoiler alert: she knows I’m full of shit and I will absolutely purchase another synth 😂

Interesting. What does the hack tribe firmware do?

  • My newest bit of music gear is a new PA system, mainly the QSC K12.2’s pictured here from my last DJ gig a couple weeks ago.

  • This is my new favorite synth, Modal's Cobalt5S. I'd never even heard of Modal Electronics until the beginning of this year, but this is so much fun to play and has such inspiring sounds (for me, at least). Plus it's super portable and comes with amazing iOS software to edit sounds visually on the iPhone / iPad as well. On the iPad you get one screen, similar to Sunrizer, that just has it all there to edit.

It’s pretty cool. Adds the oscillators and filters from the synth version plus some new groove templates and scales. Adds sampling to the synth version.

  • My most recent hardware purchase is this iRig Keys I/O 49. I found it for a great price on eBay and couldn’t resist. I wanted something that was portable and could be powered by my iPad for quick gigs and couch jamming. It’s got a built in audio interface so I can just plug in and GOOOOO!

The hardware is a bit cheap feeling and the keys are a little clacky but, it does the job that I need it to do.

Agreed. The iPad won’t be neglected entirely but it being the main device is over. I just love that everything can be done inside of the device without any devices like an interface or controller. Also being able to go from the MPC to the desktop app without losing functionality is killer

I played around with one in guitar center and actually like the interface and layout more than I did the 707. It seems really optimized for quick jams which is what I want. And being able to loop/sample over USB is nice. Plus a lot of good updates.

My OP-1+iPad combo is my favorite I’ve ever had. Wish I hadn’t of sold it.

  • Hydrasynth Explorer bought it right before they announce the Minifreak and before they cut the prices $100 - lol

Still love it. Everything I’ve wanted in an affordably priced hardware synth.

  • I’d take the hydra over the minifreak any day of the week.
