Oh great, now I have to buy Pro-R too. My wallet hates you all.

I would wait. Logic has some very nice reverbs.

From what I’ve been seeing, a lot of our favorite effects plug-ins draw heavily from Logic Pro’s stock effects. People are going to be pleasantly surprised with the capabilities of LP.

I can tell what I am not using… and have already deleted from my main iPad… some Step-Sequencers, a Sampler.. Half Baked..apps..

  • Probably the Fabs, Knock. Egoist.

Hopefuly AUv3 fx can receive midi, then also Effectrix and Turnado but I wont hold my breath heh.

Oh snap it might even drop tonight depending on time zone.

I would like more in details what you deleted as I do a bit of cleaning could be useful

  • I’m just going to try Logic Pro with only the stock features at first. I’ll see how far I can go until I have to start dragging Drambo into the picture.

Also curious to see if there’s going to be any IAA support like we have in Cubasis 3 (or Garage Band?)

Right now, we can pipe IAA channel outputs from AUM into track sources in Cubasis 3.

Tomorrow I would think. That's 6pm UK time for me, so end of day.

I sure hope so! We shall see…

I just fired up Cubasis 3 this morning, and put together some tracks. (Which I never do) Pretty much painless, and all of my IAA, and AUv3 apps were available. Didn’t mess too much with automation, but I see it’s there.

The thing is, this is working in a DAW, which is the old school way of doing things. So what they’re (Apple) saying is working in a DAW is the way?

Whatever happened to modular and DAWless jams? Don’t they matter? Is there never going to be anything else, but the DAW?

Where’s the innovation? The next big (NEW) thing?

I think we already have it. It’s Drambo, Loopy Pro, AUM, MiRack, AudioBus, etc.

I’m only semi kidding.. I’m just as excited about Logic’s arrival as everyone else, but I’m not going to lose sight of what these forums were built upon.

    Thanks I didn’t have these 2 apps

  • 7pm here in Berlin. It will be hard to focus in the daytime but at least there won’t be any FOMO or temptation then

  • People are starting to announce timings for tomorrow with FCP as expected we running off Pacific Time for release so won’t be a early morning drop in UK or Europe I suspect for Logic Pro.

If you're starting from scratch, just use the stock Logic plugins to start with.

Over time you'll probably acquire more on the way, but there's no rush.

The good news is that plugins are much cheaper on iOS, so you can get great plugins from the likes of FabFiler and Audio Damage for a lot less. IK Mixbox, DDMF, ToneBooster etc all make great plugins that are comparatively cheap compared to desktop.

DDMF ? Sorry to ask what is it

    https://ddmf.eu/

They make two of my favourite plugins. My favourite (by far) reverb for vocals:

    https://ddmf.eu/magicverb/

    https://apps.apple.com/app/magicverb/id1600495615

    And my favourite bus compressor:

    https://ddmf.eu/magicdeatheyestereo/

    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/magicdeatheyestereo-compressor/id1511697460

Still need to get MagicDeathEye but MagicVerb is close to being my favorite reverb on iOS. Top 3 for sure.

Idk what's in Logic Pro for Desktop or what will still be included in Logic Pro for iPad. However, I'd use the following for my mastering chain...

    -RX950
    -MagicDeathEyeStereo
    -Baby Audio Pitch Drift
    -TB Barricade
    -Youlean's Loudness Meter

Not sure if I'd use anything else with Logic Pro, but we shall see. :)

I didn’t start really using Pitch Drift until recently but now it goes on everything 😂 a lot of Reelbus as well. It’s not exactly my favorite tape machine but it just makes everything sound better.

I'm new to iPads. I've honestly only played around in Gawageband. On desktop I use all of plugin alliance, some waves, fabfilter, soundtoys and then others...

I was only going to use Logic when it released but curious what 3rd party plugins there are that are actually good, should I be looking at AUv3 only?

Like, If you could only keep 5, what would you keep? (I don't want to plugin overload like I did desktop) I honestly think using stock logic is probably better lol

to pick just 5 may be challenging even for me, plugin minimalist :)) there is really plethora of amazing synths and fxs on ios ... impossible to choose just 5 ..

I do love Reelbus as well. Nice tape magic! I may also muck about with Saturn 2 now that I think about it. 🤩

  • Oh I just remembered! Since I most likely won't be using Cubasis for recording vocals anymore, Brusfri as well for noise cleanup (unless Logic Pro has a plugin for that too). 😂

I honestly wouldn't buy anything, if you're new to iOS and going to be trying Logic. It covers so much ground. Had i known it was going to be released, I could've avoided buying the last few apps I've bought.

Yep there is a noise gate 😆
    But Brusfri is miles better!

Ah now I see. :) Cool. Okay, dumb question. Does Logic Pro on Mac have an internal vocoder?

Yes, EVOC 20. It's one of those plugins with a hilariously out-of-date UI, so probably on the list of plugins I wouldn't be surprised to see omitted from iPad Logic.
