Another interface from the 18 hundreds. I never used it too much so not sure if it’s any good.
It surely won’t be included in the iPad version.

I hope they'll bring over a few instruments with old UIs. I'd LOVE to have ES2 available on iPad.

Oh I just remembered! Since I most likely won't be using Cubasis for recording vocals anymore, Brusfri as well for noise cleanup (unless Logic Pro has a plugin for that too). 😂

Yep there is a noise gate 😆
    But Brusfri is miles better!

Ah now I see. :) Cool. Okay, dumb question. Does Logic Pro on Mac have an internal vocoder?

Yes, EVOC 20. It's one of those plugins with a hilariously out-of-date UI, so probably on the list of plugins I wouldn't be surprised to see omitted from iPad Logic.

I hope it isn't omitted, even if its interface isn't updated. (Not gonna lie @jacou 's screenshot screams early 2000s "cool toy". 🤣 )

I mean, it wouldn't be the most obtuse UI on iPad by a long shot. It's weird though. It feels to me like giving these plugins a facelift shouldn't be that big of a deal, but Apple has been cruising along with them for years without so much as a high-resolution refresh for retina displays.

Exactly! Oof. Which sucks, but still better than most skeuomorphic designs from the early days of iPhone and iPad.

Idk what's in Logic Pro for Desktop or what will still be included in Logic Pro for iPad. However, I'd use the following for my mastering chain...

    -RX950
    -MagicDeathEyeStereo
    -Baby Audio Pitch Drift
    -TB Barricade
    -Youlean's Loudness Meter

Not sure if I'd use anything else with Logic Pro, but we shall see. :)

I didn’t start really using Pitch Drift until recently but now it goes on everything 😂 a lot of Reelbus as well. It’s not exactly my favorite tape machine but it just makes everything sound better.

I do love Reelbus as well. Nice tape magic! I may also muck about with Saturn 2 now that I think about it. 🤩

The main thing I want to buy right now is the fab filter creative bundle, mostly because of Saturn 2. It seems amazing 🤩 Twin3 is the first thing from them I’ve bought and it’s amazing.

Based on what I’ve read here and heard from friends the stock plugins (from effects to drums to synths) are all amazing. A friend of a friend uses only logic and what comes with besides a couple of free VSTs.

I’m stoked for the physical modeling stuff 🤩

  • I find it easier to use Logic on the Mac. I have Cubasis and never did much with it. iPad DAWs just don't work for me. I do a lot in AUM and send stems to desktop Logic.

Waaaait, there's physical modeling in Logic Pro!? At least the Mac version?!

  • I’m pretty new to making music on iPad, and have been waiting for Logic as it was announced shortly after I started getting into iPad music.. kinda put it on hold for a while until Logic comes out..

Anyway.. I’ll be completely new to Logic which is a big part of why I’m so excited, and I’ll be exploring the stock plugins to the max.

I own everything Fabfilter has released on PC, and am happy to pay again to use the same familiar plugins on iPad if necessary. I really love their stuff.

I’m not big on having and using lots of plugins, I much prefer to use stock plugins or just stick with a couple of other developers.. since Fabfilter has already ported their stuff to iPad, I’m confident I’m good to go even if I don’t like the stock Logic stuff though I imagine I’ll be fine with it. Probably get Fabfilters stuff anyways just because I like it so much and am familiar with it all. But there’s no rush.

Yes. It's called "Sculpture" in Logic Pro.

    https://www.soundonsound.com/techniques/logic-pro-getting-most-out-sculpture

The UI looks quite dated, but the results you can get out of it are impressive. I modified my own electric guitar sound in it and it is very convincing.

Yes, EVOC 20. It's one of those plugins with a hilariously out-of-date UI, so probably on the list of plugins I wouldn't be surprised to see omitted from iPad Logic.

It may even get a total ‘make over’.

Some of the older plug-ins get updated over time, I remember when EAX24 got turned into the Sampler we have today.

I started to seriously suspect Logic for iPad coming when GarageBands Sampler got a similar make-over to QuickSampler which to me was an indication that Apple has been working on Logic for iPad for many, many years. Especially since all GarageBand instruments are built on top of the stock Logic plug-ins.

Yes I really wonder how many years. Already in 2012 I heard a teacher of an audio engineering school who apparently went to Hamburg to the Logic devs saying that thry’re working on something for the iPad. He thought it might be a Logic version.
It probably was the remote app or GarageBand. But who knows…
Maybe it was a long term project alongside the other apps.

That teacher by the way planted the thought of having Logic on iPad in my head. In 2012.
Only 11 years of waiting. Oh boy…

As we would say in German: “Dass ich das noch erleben darf!” 😅

It doesn’t make sense to omit Logic Pro plugins to iPad - this talk that we can move projects between Mac and iPad crosswide, what happens then when I move something from my Mac to my iPad, a project containing some of the plugins that hasn’t been updated since forever?

I really hope that Logic Pro for iPad is a real Logic Pro with every stock plugins that Mac have today…
