Guys, I'm one of the Qithesizer developer. I really appreciate your feedbacks, these will definitely help us improve it and make it a better synth.

Sorry for the misleading AUv3 description. We've released a new version yesterday with AUv3 user interface support and 4 more mod slots.

Just let me know your feedback and even complaints, that's what I think the key to make things better. We also prepared a box-of-gift to give away for more valuable feedbacks.

Hey thanks for stopping by! I think the app has so much potential but is far from perfect as is. Really love the idea of it though and some of the presets are great! Been testing the beta and sending any crashes I have to help make it the best app it can be! Looking forward to seeing the progress 🙏

Thank you buddy, that's really inspiring.

Sure thing! Any plans for some more demo videos of the app? There’s not a lot of demos out there yet. Might help drive people to the app.

  • @oscarsh

This is priced at the price of a top tier desktop synth port like Twin 3, but sorry, it is not even remotely anywhere in that league which is why my criticism might come across as slightly harsh.

I think the quality of the oscillators really need to be improved.

    Filter quality is not good.

The first screenshot on the app store says 'editors favourite'. Which editor? Got a link? Looks like empty false marketing.

I put other comments earlier in the thead so I am sure you have read those, and won't repeat them here.

It is good that this is finally a proper auv3. I think it will still take a lot of work to reach a level of quality that can rival many similarly priced ios synths. For now, tbh, I can't see many informed and discriminating users wanting to pay anything close to $30 bucks for this. Yes, some nice patches there for sure. Still, take a look at synths in a similar or even much cheaper price range and I'm sure you will have to agree that it doesn't even slightly cut muster in comparison - Bram Bos Hilda, Sugarbytes Factory, anything by Moog, Virsyn Tera Pro, ID700, Mela, etc. Or if we come to quality physically modeled sounds, apps like Geoshred etc.

Welcome to the forum anyway, I know that takes some courage when people have been critical about your product. Hopefully improvements await!

I really appreciate your sincere feedback, I will talk to the team and seriously think about the pricing. Most of the first adopters got the app through free beta testing not paid way, and we've been giving more redeem codes away. We will be for sure keep improving the app.

    "Editor's Favorite" is no-kidding.
Qithesizer has been featured by App Store in some country as "Editor's Favorite" on its home page for a week. I can provide a screenshot of it. It's not been featured globally, I think that's why you didn't see it yet.
Otherwise, Apple will reject the screenshot submission.

  • Price now dropped to a much more tempting $12.99. Thanks for responding to the conversation here around the price point; I'd definitely take the plunge at that price if I wasn't a few system versions behind the requirements.

$12.99 sounds a bit more viable, yes. Good the devs listened, though I'm sure the sales and refund numbers at the previous price point were already giving their own feedback!

True! A couple more improvements and I think it’ll definitely be worth $12.99. Seems like you can turn parameters and play at the same time now. At least in the AU it worked for me.

  • everything seems to work fine now , great work from the devs , thank you so much for this update.

Can I assume this was developed as the sound module for the Robkoo R1 wind synthesizer, and is best matched with an R1 or some other monophonic breath-controlled MIDI instrument?

Has anyone tried it with any wind controllers?

    🎯.

Yes I have and it’s Brilliant. It’s very well supported and they’ve finally finished an in app manual in English. It’s quickly becoming one of my favorite modules for my Aerophone.

Can you guys consider adding the ability to add and play user samples as an additional sound source layer? It will set Qithesizer apart as The Ultimate synth for wind controllers on iPad. Currently Falcon offers this but only on desktop. Qithesizer would be the only one on iPad with sampler, oscillators and physical modeling.

Either way, I’m satisfied with your commitment and development of Qithesizer and look forward to where your team takes it.

  • Looking forward to trying this synth when it gets delivered with the Clarii Mini hopefully in another couple of months. I asked about getting early access as part of the Kickstarter campaign but was denied.

Echoing @CapnWillie here, it’s very very good and you definitely don’t need a wind controller. It functions very well without it.

I’ve been on the beta since release and initially I was not a fan. But they’ve really put in the work and made the app so much better and I comment them for that. They’ve also been very responsive to questions and concerns. I would recommend the app wholly now.

Wow! First I’m hearing of Clarii Mini. It looks sexy. Congrats on being apart of the project. Looking forward to your review.

I’m super excited to see all of the trends, investment and interest in wind controllers. It’s come so far in the past 20 years and seems to be exploding in the last 5. While there’s a bunch of new content creators, there is such a huge opportunity on YouTube to show what wind controllers can do in the context of sound design, music production and beat making. Most of it is currently focused in showing how to play from a performance perspective.

For the first time, I’m inspired to create a channel to hopefully contribute to expanding the cause. I now use Aerophone as my main synthesizer, controller (soft/hard synths) and a control surface for my DAW (Logic, Zenbeats, Loopy Pro). Along with a Boss FS-1 wireless footswitch I can make a whole track from drums, bass and melody to chord progressions without touching the mouse or keyboard until it’s time to mix/master.

It would have been great to have more videos showing how to set up midi ccs, configure popular mega soft synths for breath control, DAW control surface settings, etc…

  • @oscarsh

How would I use this with a wind controller?
I've just installed the beta, ran it and tried to load it in my DAW but I can't even find the AUv3?

I bought it and had to reboot to see it in AUM. Try that. I have the cheap Akai EWI to dig out and test tomorrow or as soon as I can. I like the look and price of the kickstarter product. Probably get one when it’s fully baked.

Hopefully a reboot sets you str8 @rs2000 I run Q in AUM, Zenbeats and Logic on iPad and also in Logic and Zenbeats on Mac with no issues so it isn’t related to the app.

Wow @McD you play a horn too? If so, which accoustic one did you learn on first?

I too am considering the kickstarter. I like the tiny size. I have an Aerophone go for travel and playing anywhere, like lying on the couch or beach but this is another level of portability at a great price. Will keep an eye on the space.

Ah, the first 2 characters are Qi, the Chinese word for breath / energy / life force etc. So it basically means breath synthesizer and Qi is pronounced something similar to the chee in cheetos or like in the word cheat.

    [Che-the-sizer]

4 days until the beta is up. I’ve got 35 presets thus far. Robkoo, the filter and amp envelopes are really finicky, I have the hardest time with those. But other than that, some decent sounds here. I hope my friend pack stands out from the others!

Definitely some decent sounds. See you gonna be uploading your preset packs? I’ve only made a few so far. I need to dive into the app more than I have.

No, you don’t look stupid, and I think that this was not a very wise name for the western market (and Chinese people will know how to pronounce the first 2 letters, but maybe struggle with the rest, alienating them as well, lol). Most people in the west would not know this as Western spelling of Chinese words often uses an older system than what is currently used in China, so you often see Qi written as ‘Chi’ in the west.

Yessir I made a discord where I’ve uploading them as soft launches for beta testing, demo making, and preparing YT demo previews to accompany them. Had a talk with Kirnu and he said if I expect to make any money from my presets, I’m gonna need YT videos and tutorials as well, not just the packs on payhip/gumroad. I can add you to the discord if you want. Here’s what I got so far:

    Audiokit House Mark V free
    VHS 3.99
    Audiokit Synth One . Free
    Icegear Redshrike 3.99$
    Moog Model D 7.99
    Bleass Monolit free
    Yonac Trooper 3.99
    Phasemaker 4.99
    Alpha 4.99 ^
    Buttersynth Promo
    Phase 84 2.99
    Qithesizer Promo?
    Thump One Promo?
    Poison 202 4.99
    Twin 3 8.99
    Tal-Uno-X 4.99

Not entirely set on pricing but that’s kinda an estimate atm

Sweet! I’m not much of a preset player myself but would be interested in the Thump One pack and I can’t resist anything that’s feee 😂 is it on the iOS beatmaking discord? If so, I’m on there now. If it’s a different one I’d be interested in joining for sure.
