Well, if we are in minor improvements, it would be great that, when replacing an app, we could immediately access the search engine. It drives me nut each time I want to replace an instrument or a fx I have to go up in the list of app (and I have a lot) to access the search engine that is on top of the list

Long press the node, choose "Replace", you're now in the list with the search bar at the top.

I don’t have to do that?

I hit replace, swipe once to show the search and done.

I think I understand. In my workflow I hit "replace" then I choose "Audio unit extension" and here AUM display the actual app on the list. And if I want the search engine, then I have to scroll up to the top.

What I have to do is hit "Replace" and directly use the search engine without going into the "Audio unit extension"...

Only disadvantage is that it will display the IAA apps too

    Thanks All, problem solved

Ah, now I see the issue. Yes, AUM scrolls to the currently selected instrument, and puts a checkmark on it. This is actually an intended feature! :) The idea is that if you're browsing through some plugins and testing them, you want to continue where you were in that list. However, I always have "Last used" as sort option, so the most recent plugins are always near the top.

But when I plug in my op-1 I still can’t choose to use the iPad speakers. Wtf man!!! Fix this.

Wtf dude!!! Yeah.. It's not a bug to be "fixed", it's a feature request. And I would very happily add that feature, since it can be useful at times for users that don't use a multi-channel audio interface with separate headphone outputs etc.

The problem is that it's currently technically impossible to add this feature, since there's no official API to do it. I know Logic does it, which simply means they are using private API that's not available to us other (competing) developers. Nice move, Apple..

  • Wtf , I like „enumerate audio interface channels - EVEN IF THEY ARE NOT LISTED BY DEVICE”, F%#ing s***t wow!

Although I would gladly buy IAP or even a complete ‘AUM 2’ were it ever to add the aforementioned automation and mixer view.

Yes, I'm hoping to add various timeline-based features (AUM DAW?) in the future, and those will be in the form of IAPs.

YES 🙌🏻 Can’t wait. This will be the game changer for me.

Some audio interfaces doesn’t list all their channels, for some reason. This works around it by assuming stuff.

I really don’t get the excitement of this update? What exactly does it do different? What am I missing. Still can’t change audio out.

This update is very minor. People are more excited about what's coming next

…or, every update to every app we have, is a celebration that the developer is alive!

    That is so true.

I know I apologize I was having a bad day. AUM is an amazing app for sure.

  • I’ll be using AUM quite a bit more with a timeline 👍

we (users) are happy to have such excelent support!
Only few apps/DAWS allow to see all outputs in mine interface.
    Thank you @j_liljedahl

Good to hear! Which interface is it?

  • Just want to say that Aum is an inspiring instrument. Thanks for all your hard work on this.

Let me second the honourable member. There are all kinds of fascinating music apps on iOS, more even on my iPad then I can remember, but when it comes to returning to one app again and again, that's AUM.

  • @j_liljedahl

rme xtc octamic (before update was 24 in/4outs, now full 24/24)

  • Can we please have multi audio device support with iOS 17? I want to plug multiple USB audio devices (eg a TX-6 mixer, a TP-7 'turntable', etc.) into my iPhone, and Apple has added support for that but depends on devs integrating the new AVFoundation improvements.

I understand that these APIs are coming to AVFoundation with iOS 17, but I haven't been able to locate the API changes yet / don't know if they've landed yet.

Sure, I will happily try to support it when/if there's a public API to do it.

While we wait, might I gently suggest if not already managed continuity plans of your project - for example personally speaking I'm looking into locking my work into open sourcing as fallback for anything I don't have a more specific ownership plan in place for. Reading this story recently reminded me to not wait https://www.inverse.com/input/features/tropetrainer-thomas-buchler-torah-software (not to be a downer, with larger companies perhaps it's a more generic question of what are biz continuity plans in place, and fielding that q for audience of people who may build their professional livelihoods on the org's work, etc)

Could you add features like its an another app. So it might be sideview, bottom half view or a resizable launch page via a channel.

Bottom view for automation editing. Sideview to scroll and see stems.

Automation of mixing and maybe auv3 effects.

An audio time line that obviously outputs to the faders.

  • Main strength of @j_liljedahl AUM is in fact that it doesn't have timeline and automation, it's a true DAW-les platform and is unique in this space. Wishing linear editing for AUM is equivalent to wishing destruction and amputation from that unique space. 🤯

Lol. A time line I can do without, a slider only view and hi-res inbuilt midi like apematrix would rock though!

    Timeline I don’t need, but…

[insert obligatory request for editable slider and button automation here]

For me automation represents graphs on timeline while LFO and alike represent modulation. You probably want modulation?! That's fine.

    Yes, modulation, like apematrix!
