D'oh! Reading is hard. I beg forgiveness, @Poppadocrock
I can’t drag the downloaded and unzipped presets into the SumFX folder in ‘On My iPad’. It just doesn’t work. The Sum FX folder installed in On My iPad also won’t open. Anyone else run into these probs and found a solution?
Try copying the folder and pasting it at the target...
...I tend to do most Files.app operations in one window using copy/paste/move.
I don't have sumFX but do the above with many other apps.
Thanks Samu, seems a restart fixed it. However, this is what my experience is so far:
You know the way the files system on iOS works, it is so crap, it doesn't remember the last location that was opened. So it seems any time I want to load a preset I have to click on, for example, 'load chain preset', navigate either manually or using search to the sumfx folder, find the preset folder, the chain preset folder, then go into the subfolders, then choose an individual preset. And then if I want to try a different preset I have to repeat the above? Of course, if I knew individual preset names I could just search for them directly.
Tell me I’m missing something here, please, because this would seem to be an extremely frustrating way to browse through presets, I feel I really must be missing something.
That is again something the developers can most likely 'fix' by keeping track of the last URL used for file access...
To me this sumFX feels more like 'screw the presets' and do it from scratch on a need to use basis
I don’t think you’re missing anything. I’ve been saving my presets in AUM for time being - not a solution for those who might go cross platform, but I don’t have the patience to go through iOS file hell. I haven’t even looked at the factory presets - too much of a drag.
Dbl pst
Yeah, this really needs to be optimized, I’m very surprised no one here complained about this yet, it’s a really bad preset system implementation, but I’m sure the dev will figure something better out asap, like I said, very nice guy and very responsive.
Hey, I complained before (ok, yesterday). My take is that this developer may not be very familiar with other iOS music apps and the expectations of the community in general. Not a criticism, just a hunch.
Not affecting the sound at all except the levels (whatever I tried in 5 min doesnt work, in=out). Drambo. Going for refund, sorry.
same here, in aum and drambo...i must be doing something wrong
Try disabling 'MATCH INPUT' (under the last slot to the right)
@thesoundtestroom great video! Thanks for checking it out.
@Gavinski thanks! Also, just a heads up, I'm looking into your issue with the resonance.
For anyone having Preset issues. We're working on a more ideal system for iOS. In the meantime, I've pulled together a walk-through on how to get your Factory Presets, as well as save, load, and set a Favorite folder for quick recall.
@Samu the iOS File Chooser seems much more picky than Mac/PC, I'm working on it now with the rest of the system. Thanks for mentioning the URL. That is part of it.
No problem.
Much appreciated. We'll make sure to get something really solid for everyone here. Constructive comments are the best, since they point me in the direction to go, so thank you again.
Yeah, this was an implementation to help with stability on Logic Pro, but I think I've found a better option.
**Edit: To clarify, I meant the processing stopping with the playhead. The LFO issue you have here I'll need to look into when I get a second. Thanks for bringing this up.
@HotStrange @Poppadocrock I see you two mentioned this as well. I'm working on it. I'll see if I can add a setting for spill over when changing presets. That might come a bit later with Program Change assignments to presets. Is that something everyone here uses a lot?
That's upsetting to hear! I'll check it out asap. If you don't mind sending an message to the support email below with details of your device, that would be very helpful in making sure we check it out properly and offer you some suggestions.
Yeah, that's odd. Make sure the slot is engaged. There is a power button under each of the slots.
In case anyone needs it there is a user manual here. Feel free to ask for any suggested additions. I'm happy to accommodate.

**Edit: Missed these posts:
Intro pricing is set to go for 1 month from release, like BFM.
While I do love a good slider/knob-style control when it's easy to grab, I agree that X/Y pads are awesome. They really let you do some unique stuff quick, and with one hand when needed. On a touch screen it's even more useful.
Thanks for your support! I was honestly blown away by the amount of feedback here and the fact we hit #2 in paid music apps was really awesome to see. We couldn't do it without a great community behind us and we'll make sure the feedback makes it's way into the release notes in the form of solid changes.
i’m on iPad Air 3, ios 13.7...have excluded most human error, the fx just don’t sound. tried presets, too
Have you tried starting the host transport? I hit this and pressing play in AUM fixed it.
@OSC_Audio i do use that quite a bit. It can be a cool ending to a song to just pause the track and let the tails of the effects slowly fade out. It can be really useful in ambient productions as well.
Thanks for confirming I wasn’t going crazy and missing the obvious lol
thank you! finally got it working
@OSC_Audio is this by design? not used to regular fx needing transport running to work....
These presets download would help if posted on the OSC gumroad webpage if possible — that’s the first result searching for sumfx, not the netlify.app site under an effects drop-down menu. that was my experience
There should really be some kind of pop-up in the app itself on first downloading it. But more to the point it should just work from the get go and have a decent preset system built in. It's really not the kind of thing 99% of people who just downloaded a new app want to bother having to do. There's not even a mention of where to find the preset downloads and the info needed to install them on the appstore. But even there, many users wouldn't even read the description thoroughly.
Yeah I haven’t even tried to download the presets yet. I usually like designing my own but it is nice to have with big multi effects like this. I really like the app overall but I do get bummed seeing so many apps without a decent preset system. And the effects not trailing off but stopping completely when you pause transport or the sequencer is weird behavior. Makes it not usable in some cases for me
Loving the sound of this, great work team OSC! Have to echo the comments in regards to the fiddly interface and difficulty in selecting drop downs etc. Had to use my apple pen in the end otherwise it was too frustrating, Looking forward to playing more and future updates.
Is this demanding on the CPU, or does it tread lightly? What about when all the effects are engaged, though that might be a rare case in the real world...
I bought it. I like it. I like it quite a bit, and only GAS accounting for the purchase decision, I don't regret it. I was reminded of another great swiss-army fx spork, namely Modley. Digression aside, this is a fine and fun soundchewer which I have much yet to learn about, and the Dev seems like a good egg too. ++++>
DOUBLE-POST DELETED
DOUBLE-POST DEL
bought it for ios, will spend some time with it!
is the win/mac version a extra buy or is that included?
if so, how can i get the win version?
Separate buy. On their gumroad I think? Just Google them > @Birdpie said:
It seemed to show up in the Mac Store which is actually where I bought it. Haven't checked it in Logic on Mac yet but seeing as its in the store I would guess it will. I have an M1 laptop. If this does currently work I imagine the dev will plug that hole
i see, thanks!
Here's a quick sneak peek at the preset system on iPhone which will be coming to all platforms.
Forgive the simulator use, and lack of editing, I have tested on physical devices, and it's much quicker outside of a debug build, but this was just easiest to get a good quick preview that shows what's coming soon and everyone here was so interested I wanted to share! 🤘
@Cambler @Birdpie Yes, Mac/PC is separate. If you do choose to purchase the iOS version, I'm not sure I'll close the loophole of iOS AUv3 use on macOS. I think I like the iOS community too much to do that lol!
If you really did not want to purchase both versions, you could certainly use this method, but just know I'm not planning on optimizing AUv3 or the iOS app for macOS. I mean, unless I see some real interest, it just seems like something not too many people would use. Really I'd suggest the Mac/PC version if you're moving your projects between platforms.
@GUB Glad to hear you like it I greatly appreciate all the support! We'll be adding more as we go, so for sure stay tuned. CPU should be minimal, but I've found more ways to get it even lower which will be super handy on older iOS devices (Not that we've seen complaints, I'm just excited about getting that refactoring done).
@Cambler Thank you!! Very happy you're enjoying the sound. I've been dying to get back to the DSP side and I should be there soon now that I've got the iOS Preset update pretty much sorted. I should be able to also squeeze in some more iOS optimizations on GUI before it goes live. I'm hoping it can get out to everyone soon though! My TestFlight testers should all be getting the first build once Apple approves.
@HeavyWater Thanks for mentioning it. I saw your comment and immediately added everything to the Gumroad page for any future users looking for the resources.
@Gavinski Stay tuned on TestFlight I think you'll really like this next update. The Factory Presets are even baked in by user request.
@HotStrange @drewinnit @MisplacedDevelopment The behavior with the playhead should now be sorted with the v1.0.3 update. This should be out soon. We're just making sure it's stable after the big back-end changes. Stay tuned!
