Can’t tell anything from the link posted since it’s a private group but I’m curious
Is that the iconic Super Nintendo font in the middle right on that iPhone?
Hey - yes indeed! A new app is coming next week.
Really grateful that it includes presets by folks from this forum and other great designers. It'll launch with presets by Cokomairena, DMT Cymatics, Electronisounds, GarageBand Guide, Gavinski, Mark Hupkens, Moby Pixel, and more! (And, several other folks here helped test it, contribute ideas). I've been sitting on these sample for several years now, and a chat w/ @Samu gave me the kick in the pants to finish the app. And, I really got hand it to the preset designers – They've made these vintage samples sound really modern.
It is a chiptune synth. But this one improves on the SAGA app concept a bit, adds a "real" virtual synth engine and lots more controls, so it's a true hybrid beast. Plus, it has over 2,500+ new samples and 240+ Multi-Sampled PCMs from a different brand of video game system
I know a chiptune synth may not be a lot of people's cup of tea. However, the first week it will only be a one-time $2.99 to unlock everything forever. And, a nice percentage of the app sales will go towards me and my work this time. So if you have asked in the past how to support and happen to have some extra scratch and appreciate the latest efforts of King of FM and all the King of Bass updates, anything helps 🙏
And, don't worry – Next up will be the Digital D1 reboot
Unrelated: I think I need to remind beta testers not to post full videos about upcoming apps the week before the release
🤣🤣🤣
Demo by Patrick Baird
Thanks man …… what’s not to like about this one 😀 …. I couldn’t bring myself to say the cursed ‘I’ word - but I was thinking it 😛
A chip tune synth? @Samu may be interested.
@AnalogMatthew have you thought about making some pure synths instead of making only romplers? I believe the AudioKit devtools allow this, yes? My biggest issue with romplers is the massive amount of hard drive space they eat up.
You're in luck! This is a pure synth (unlike VHS, SAGA, etc). Plus it has 1 GB of samples compressed down to 100mb of space. Which isn't terribly much space
Aha! That is good news. Thanks!
Ooooo man I’m excited! The recent releases have been fantastic @AnalogMatthew so I’m sure this one will be good, too. And I’m a sucker for those old chiptunes. Maybe it’s nostalgia. Probably. But I love it either way
Looks like, you’ll see this app on Monday night at midnight!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Looks very cool, congratulations!
And really great news the D1 remake will be next, I LOVE that synth!
C’mon Monday night 🤩
Bro-dude-dawgs, the presets I’ve heard so far sound most crunkatious.
As a life-long self-professed chiptune hater, I stand here before the entire AB community and renounce my hatred and hang my head in shame. You, @analog_matt, along with the sound designers and preset makers have won my heart. I am really looking forward to getting this synth.
Ie Tuesday 00:00 hours west coast time?
Am I getting old or what? Reading this makes me soft and emotional. 😂 All that names and goodwill in one place, how can I refuse to instabuy this thing.
Now I really don’t have an excuse to not make that ode to my favorite 8 bit computer from childhood.
Thanks for another great addition, looking forvarD for the next 1. 🤩
Wow this sounds amazing. Super stoked now.
That’s usually how it is for me.
Yeah I’m no chip-tune maker, they’re the only Gadgets I haven’t bought in… Korg Gadget! But that demo sounds great.
What does NE stand for? (It's ok to laugh: my last game console was an Atari 2600.)
Nintendo Entertainment (System)
I am totally not chiptune fan but from the sound examples - i hear a lot of VERY interesting sounds totally useable for modern psytrance - cause bitcrushing is one of very used FXs there … So looking forward to this, hope it will be stable and reliable as AUv3…
So far stability has been good and I've tried to forward most if not all my whacky request to @AnalogMatthew
I think the more 'nitty gritty' testers an app has the more potential it has to become insanely awesome
(Ie. I feel you should definitely be on the beta).
Cheers!
So was mine
I find it rather flexible! It has very wide sound palette.
