Baby audio new plugin Aug 24th

It’s a collaboration with Andrew Huang. Anybody got a clue what it will be? Or if it’s coming to iOS?

absolutely fantastic .. but i don’t see ig we get it on iOS ..

  • very cool, reminds me of Sugar Bytes Turnado but for time-line based music rather than live

  • There’s no mention of iOS that I can find that specifically relates to Transit, but on their website, Baby Audio have stated they are aiming to get their whole catalogue on iOS by the end of 2023.
I know there’s plenty of ways to do the same job, but this looks great to me.

  • I don’t know about this app, but those knobs sure look interesting, and may be something @giku_beepstreet could get some inspiration from, given the discussion found in this other thread here:

    https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/57004/drambo-design-thoughts-with-elements-of-dagger-and-combustor/p2

  • The ‘Transition Control’ feature is a good addition and will be fantastic on iOS platform, especially in DAWs like NS2. For me overall, Transit is not even close to replacing Turnado.

...or we build one ourselves in the meantime, let's make this a joint weekend project 😃

  • Updated sketch, now with fold-able modules to save space and an XY pad to add live punch-in FX capability.

    I’m in!

  • First think that crossed my mind was this looks like Drambo

I assume since we’re on the topic of alternatives, that edibles will be acceptable? 😂😵‍💫

Seriously though, I was referring to the macro control knob style, rather than what this app does as a whole.

But now that you’ve mentioned it, I’d be happy to try what you have there. Planning on sharing at patchstorage?

That "Transition" knob in my screenshot is a macro control and you can assign it to as many parameters as you like, with different ranges. Plus, there's the XY pad that would be assignable to any set of parameters on top of that.

Sure, when it's done, it should land on patchstorage indeed 😊

That was my first thought too - definitely Turnado territory.

This one is breathtakingly good! 🤩

  • I look forward to every Baby Audio release. This looks like fun.

I’ll answer for them. Edibles are always acceptable and I just had about 50mg

  • This does look cool I’ll have to demo it on desktop though cos I don’t really do much electronic stuff so I’d have to see how it does with stuff I make. I absolutely love Turnado though so I could see this also fitting in with my workflow

  • Kind of a cool plugin not gonna lie. However, I can do all this even with stock effects in NS2. (However I'm still going to buy it to support Baby Audio and Andrew Huang, and who knows, maybe it'll click with me.)

  • It's a great plug-in. Loving the Sonic possibilities of it:

I never feel anything on them unless they’re at least 200 mg. And I do take week tolerance breaks every couple months or so. (Medical user, Durban Poison for life, but I admit it’s still fun to get blasted every once in a while to watch a nostalgia movie). Plus they don’t give me a steady high…they take my brain all over the place.

Sorry to derail I was just simultaneously browsing the dispensary

  • Watched the vid, very nice. Definitely an example of good technology that does most of the work for you.

  • Lol at this guy and his reinvention of turnado for kids

He has a point. But what he fails to mention is Turnado is ugly as fuck and the effects sound really crappy

  • I'm curious to see how those rings around the knobs will work on iOS. Hopefully the do a better job than FabFilter.

  • Needs a way like Turnado to delay activation and end activation early per effect

Usually multi effect apps aren’t winning any awards for sound quality when it comes to the individual effects. Turnado, and other apps like it, are more for sound mangling which usually doesn’t require pristine quality. I don’t really think they sound crappy though.

The rings around knobs for panning in fabfilter apps are far better now than they were a few years ago - you have a lot of leeway, you can touch and drag even outside the ring and it will work fine, in my experience. Still, not obvious, so also to some extent a UI fail

Yeah Turnado looks and sounds pretty dated in many aspects
