FAC Drumkit is way superrior drum synth to this one. It can do all what this and much more.

Surely, FAC Drumkit can do a lot more. I’ve only played with this one for a few minutes, but I find it sounds “dirtier”… Probably BS and I’m just biased. Right?.
It’s probably subjective but to me this and Fractal sound more “transistor” like, they have a “crunch” that I don’t think I’ve heard on FAC Drumkit

  • Hey thanks everyone for checking out the apps! If you want to hear them in action, give us a follow on X or Insta. We also have some YouTube content (talkthroughs and factory preset demos).

They'll be $3.99 USD through Saturday then full price of $7.99.

  • Well, Gavin‘s demo did sound great and the price is just irresistible so bought both. I hope I can give them a spin in the upcoming days.

  • @Kashi I think I got your email. Sent you a response!

  • I’ve already had my money’s worth setting up 2x Octachrons for 16 channels of fun in AUM. The look, the sound and the price are all spot on for me 🍻

It looks cool, the layout reminds me of the volca drum synth a bit

I would say more like Pocket Operator … well when i look at it from this angle, if it just had simple sequencer on those 16 pads and midi sync, then it would work beautifully in setup with Pocket Operators, especially when runs on iPhone

  • A double-demo for both Blip and Monkey with Giveaways

(Sorry for posting this on both app threads)

Whew the amount of cool apps coming out so quickly behind each other for the last few months has been crazy. Definitely interested in these.

It’s been a crazy few months of great app releases, and I have a feeling it’s the new norm.

Even if FAC drumkit can do all that blip box can do and more, this thing sounds great. I love the digital sound of it. I think it compliments Fac, the Ruismakers etc nicely. This thing sounds way more digital and nasty in a good way.

You can’t have too many drum synths. And yes it does remind me of my Pocket Operator drum machine. Which is a good thing. It also reminds me a bit of Microtonic, which is the PO-32's Dad. For £4. (Microtonic is $100 + VAT).

And £3.99 including the Mac version? I’d happily pay that if blip box was a preset bank for FAC Drumkit.

Anyway. It’s right up my alley. Love it. Bought.

  • Oh and my first ever synth was a Casio CZ-3000 in about 1987.

So Phase Monkey was a must buy too.

Cool! Any vid / screenshot or patchstorage file for this? Would be great. Ta!

will upload on patch storage later, need to define good few macro/morph knobs to make it tweakabke in usable range, and naybe will upload it as package together with psy bass instrument, psy squelch and psy lead instruments ;)

    Sounds good! Cheers

Definitely seems to be. I’m stoked for Igor’s new app coming out soon too. My wallet hates it though 😂

  • If anyone is still on the fence about Blip Box, hopefully I can win you over with this! :D B)

    Yep, got it. Thanks buddy

  • At a glance Blip Box seems like the drum synth engine of the old Korg Electribe ER-1 but… it does a bit more having 2 oscs with the FM and XM not being tied across two sounds.
it reminds me a lot of A JHS Pro Rhythm Drum Synth i used to have (destroyed in an asbestos roof collapse 🥲).
I think it will be great for quickly achieving some electro sounds to suit a track.
I like that the UI expands at the expense of the pad area. Presets are cool and some of them remind me of C64 sid chip sounds…. £3.99?? Yup. Bought it!

  • Does it use the same pad midi mapping as FAC Drumkit?

    @rygrob

Your new apps are #2 and #3 in the US paid music apps

    And

#19 and #21 in the entire US Paid Apps App Store

    Cheers man!

I’m pretty sure I read it was “general midi mapping” which is like the default version of midi mapping.

Yes, i had more of a play with it last night after writing that… im getting some fantastic wild sounds from it. I tried parameter p-lock automation in Drambo too… only one downside.. the selected instrument changes whilst midi sequenced meaning tweaking from within the app whilst sequenced cant be done unless you only sequence one hit. I can live with that but turning off that “midi hit” selection would be a good update.

If you tap and hold a pad and select “set focus” it will stay on while the sequence is running

Thanks Branis! Thats also where the copy and paste lives. It pays to read the manual!

Someone else mentioned already but yeah set focus should help with that. It’s definitely a really cool app!

  • Great Apps
    But, have PAN?

Good point, having a pan on the different instruments, like in FAC drum.
