You could use an external LFO. mLFO for instance goes down to 1 cycle per 130,442 beats. At AUM’s minimum setting of 20 bpm that’ll give you 6,522 minutes or 4.5 days.
I really like how this synth sounds when automating the grain number and length, while using delay + reverb + some compression to smear harsh transients.
I only wish it had more exposed AU parameters for Host Automation, like the Orbit parameters and the Waveglide positions.
I'm having trouble getting MLFO to work with WaveCloud. The help understandably doesn't cover it, and none of the videos I've seen so far have provided me any inspiration. I've used MLFO before with other synths and haven't had this problem, though it has been a while. I'd appreciate any insight into what I might be doing wrong.
[I got the MLFO working with Zeeon, and it works.]
Here's the (very simple) setup for my test:
Loaded in AUM:
MLFO and WaveCloud (a default preset is loaded)
AUM routing matrix:
MLFO Output 1 is pointing to MIDI Control
AUM MIDI CTRL | CHAN 1: WaveCloud | WaveCloud:
Osc Shape parameter is set to CH1, CC55, and it's ON
MLFO Output 1 settings:
Beats 1.000, Sine wave, CC55, Out 1, Chn 1, Trg Host
Max 127, Min 0, Phase 0.00, div by 1 is 1, multiple by 1 is 0
all other parameters are defaults
When I press play in AUM, shouldn't I see the Grains Oscillator Shape control change in the WaveCloud interface? I sent MLFO's output to MIDI Monitor to make sure it's sending, and it is.
Ultimately I want to get this working in Logic Pro iPad, but I started with AUM first so I could understand the concept.
Thanks!
[edit: I got it working. I have no idea why it didn't work the first time! Sorry for any bother.]
Excellent!
Upon further exploring, this app is top of the list for granular synthesis. I’ve used many-
apps, vst, modular etc. It’s such a pleasure to use and has thankfully replaced some other granular tools. Thx 4 pockets!
