You don’t even have a chance to use it on a phone….its ridiculous on iPhone…I’ve not seen a more unusable phone app to date.

I broke out laughing it’s so bad.

{cough} Riffer by Audiomodern. Any of their apps actually, but Riffer is ridiculous.

Ah haha, they’re bad enough on ipad sized at anything less than full size, I can’t even imagine what they’re like on a small phone screen, madness

Totally impossible to read - or accurately click on anything! 😮😂

I wouldn’t say it’s an oversight. The app is definitely geared towards being used as an AU and most people use their own keyboards on iOS or hardware so they have their own latch options with those.

No worries. I'll just forget about my needs then.

    Lol what’s your problem?

In what particular area? I have many.

  • I just spoke to Paul and, he is going to add a hold function in a near future update.
It's too late to add it to the next one, so it will probably be 1.02.

    Lol same here

Let’s hope he fixes the UI, I will then go fix my score for it…cuz it has 5 star sound and -5 star interface. The actual instrument is great…if you can use it

Hold button and lots of additions coming in next version. Probably on Mon or Tues.

It’s kinda par for the course for all of Paul’s apps. I don’t find it horrible but like most of his UIs, it’s not great. What are you having issues with? Have you told the dev about it? No way for it to be fixed otherwise.

  • Update, I think the hold function will be in the next update😊

Love that it has a matrix but wished it had way more destinations…. But maybe I’m missing something. Would like to control various granular parameters via matrix but I’m not seeing any…. Am I Clueless and they are there via another page or something? Pressure to control the random spread of grains would be killer… especially if via polyphonic aftertouch (MPE)

  • @stown Open the Matrix, then put your finger on the list at the left hand side and scroll up to reveal all the other destinations available 😊

  • @thesoundtestroom thank you! haha... silly me. That is more like it! Lol. I have been watching your demo and have only seen the first 16 minutes and got intrigued by the matrix when it popped up around 12 minutes. ;P And yesterday I actually had this thought "huh.... I wish I could find someone who knew all this stuff and does consults... I wonder if I was in SW England with my laptop, iPad, and an iPhone if I could just rent Doug for like a day and have him coach me and answer my questions? " :) :) :) Well thank you... you answered one of them already! (and thank you again for all of your countless reviews, demos, and answers you provide us all with!)

Or, when all else fails, read the manual ;)

Haha, what heresy is this! 😂

I know you were heavily involved in the making of this, Dave. Did you also write any kind of fascinating paper to go with it, like you did with Progressions, Sinusedo, Euclidean etc? Big hug my man!

  • What’s New
    Version History
    Dec 17, 2023 Version 1.01

Added the ability to drag WaveGlide markers within the editor window.

Added SHIFT and HOLD buttons on the right of the TABBAR so it's there on all pages.

Hold SHIFT while adjusting knobs and selectors to get fine adjust mode.

Hold SHIFT when setting WaveGlide Hold Time, Transition Time, Transition Mode or Advance Mode to set ALL nodes to the same setting.

Added smoothing to the Filter Env Amount knobs.

Added a randomize dialog for the WaveGlide.

You can now have up to 12 nodes in a WaveGlide.

Long pressing the Delete button on the WaveGlide screen now clears the nodes.

Added a new 'Jump' mode to WaveGlide which jumps to the destination with no glide or fade.

Added an Advance option to WaveGlide that allows RANDOM jumps between nodes rather than simply moving to the NEXT node.

Added an option to the Settings called 'Force Full Screen' which defaults to ON.

When 'Force Full Screen' is OFF, shrinking the interface can split the view into two scrollable areas. This is also great for iPhone users.

Fixed an issue where quick repeat tapping of the Poly could cause the menu to appear empty.

Fixed an issue with deleting entries in the WaveGlide chain.

Fixed an issue with the MPE keyboard where we weren't getting full polyphony.

Fixed an issue which could cause notes to stick if keys where pressed while changing patch.

Fixed a spelling in the limiter setup menu.

WaveCloud now prompts to run in standalone mode to setup the presets when first installed. This could cause issues if the presets were not setup correctly.

    Didn’t know about these ,
I just tried downloading the Progressions paper from app but the link seems broken . ..

  • edited December 2023

Sorry for the broken link…I’ll repost the link in a few minutes

  • Not sure why the link isn't working for you. I just tried the links directly from the in-app manuals for both Progressions and Euclidean, and the links worked.

However, for anyone having problems, here are direct links:

    Circle of Colors (PDF)
Supplementary paper by David Collett for Progressions (by 4Pockets and David Collett)

Euclidean, PolyRhythm, PolyMeter, and Hybrids (PDF)
Supplementary paper by David Collett for Euclidean (by 4Pockets and David Collett)

    Sinusedo (PDF)
Manual and overview of microtonality by David Collett for Sinusedo (by Alex Nadzharov)

    Best to you all.

  • @dcollett Thank you , downloaded & ready for a good read . Thanks for your work on this .

  • Seems like the update addressed my issues with the app enough !
    Satisfied now
    Thank you 4pockets

Don't forget to change that review. Poor reviews affect sales, and poor sales affect a developers desire to keep making apps. Good sales and reviews keeps morale up as well as brings more people and developers to the platform.

My rule is don't review until ive reached out personally to the developer about any issues im having. Then I review and if I need to mention issues in the review add in what I think the likelihood of fix is based on the replys. That way I can leave an honest review and leave people with a feeling that an apps in development rather than broken.

    Just thoughts 🙂

+1. Always hate seeing a 1 star review with a reply from the developer saying this issue is fixed and asking them kindly to revise their review but they never do. Then again some of the people reviewing the apps…whew…I’ve seen some bad ones. Idk how the devs put up with it 😂

I'm not sure who Perry Pelican is, but I love seeing his appstore reviews where he talks about how ridiculous "review ransoming" is. One star reviews because the app costs too much or something foolish. I mean an honest review is valuable for everyone, but developers are already making so little money on music apps it's mind blowing that there are so many.

That name sounds very similar to someone that comments under a lot of Doug’s videos with really similar often silly/nit picky complaints.

Reviews like that are such a pet peeve of mine. It’s just bad overall because now I trust App Store reviews was less than I used to simply because of reviews like that. I’ve seen apps I love that I consider easy 4.5/5-5/5 apps have something like a 3/5 App Store score and when I check the reviews for reasons why, it’s things like that 75% of the time. Big bummer.
