  • Looks/sounds cool. What is the difference compared to MagicDelay?

  • It's not a spectral delay, MagicDelay is a different beast but this is a lot of fun, trust me :) Think about it as a blend of your favourite delays plus a wicked modulation system ;)

  • At that price it’s crazy cheap!

  • Of course I bought it. It’s 1) a delay which is my favorite effect and 2) from GSDSP, one of my favorite devs!

Super excited to dive in :)

Hey @HotStrange if you can let me know about the CPU hit! Looks super cool.

  • this is very good:)
especially the modulation section is fabulous.
very suitable for drums, percussion and glitch stuff!
    bigups Gustav!

  • @gsdsp Really great release! Going to have a lot of fun with this. Nice to see Christian Vogel’s name pop up in the presets as well. It’s been a while. 👍

    It's very low ;)

I just tested the performance here by loading 10 (!) instances of Quantum Delay in AUM:

    iPhone 13: 30%
    iPad Pro 3rd Gen: 14%

    Cheers

    Thanks 👍👍👍 purchased. Fantastic!

  • At this price, i’m happy to invest :)

This is excellent! 10-min spoken walkthrough with a giveaway to win any GSDSP apps here, and I have similar giveaways, as usual, on my Twitter and Insta:

Giveaway details are in the pinned comment, and there is also a written review there and a summary of some key features.

  • this one is just amazing. those modulations.
    congratulations!

My apologies. I bought it right before bed so didn’t have a chance to try but I see they beat me to it. Enjoy! I’m just now about to have a chance to give it a go.

    Thank you @HotStrange , @waka_x & @gusgranite !

Maybe you can’t say, but I’m curious if this will be a separate line of multiple “cheaper” effects? 👀

I love the other ones but having a line of more expensive and cheaper plugins sounds like a great idea.

  • is that good.

  • Thank you for this lovely new delay! Presets are great and modulation options are insane. The only thing I wish it had was saturation/distortion in the feedback loop... @gsdsp any chance of that as a future feature? Thank you again!

  • Right on! Nice price, I’ll get it for both platforms

  • Great job @gsdsp I’ve been playing with it for a day now and it’s fantastic 👏 an absolute bargain at that price as well.

    That would be awesome!

  • this delay is freaking awesome.
and one of those few that is using the full space in cubasis3.

  • Thank you @hghon @Birdpie @Fingolfinzz

@stown @HotStrange Putting saturation inside a feedback loop is very hard to control and probably won't do what you imagine.

Think about it like this: Feedback means the same signal is going to be processed again and again. If you do this with saturation there are 3 ways this will go:

    • No additional drive: with each iteration there will be less saturation since saturation brings down the levels, probably not what you want
    • Additional drive: with each iteration it will saturate more but very quickly your feedback loop will explode, probably not what you want
    • Just the right amount of drive: With each iteration the saturation won't change because you found the exact right amount for the feedback loop to not die off or explode - this is essentially the same as putting the saturation after the feedback loop

Here is a little insight in my DSP design: There is a saturation algorithm after the feedback loop which I specifically designed to avoid nasty digital clipping while still maintaining the quality of your sound without colouring it too much. The idea is that if you feel like colouring it you can set it to fully wet and use whatever saturation effect you want. I was thinking about offering a drive control but decided against it because the whole effect turned out to be quite complex already and I didn't want to clutter the UI. You can always daisy chain effects, no need to put everything into one plugin if you know what I mean.

p.s. for those really DSP inclined: there are ways to saturate signals decoupled from amplitude by the means of a Hilbert Transform and phase distortion. I've experimented with this but I didn't like the sound of it. Too much distortion sounds harsh and it can easily happen with short delay times and high feedback values. Might work for very specific things but is not versatile nor flexible. Still experimenting though (as always  )

Hey I totally get it! I still really love the effect as is. I’m a fan of harsh noise and experimental so my mind is always: how can I mangle this and push it as far as possible? lol but I know not everyone - or most really - would want that.

Thanks for the new app though, I’ve been having a blast with it. Very powerful delay.

    thanks for that insight!

    few things i noticed:
-extrem feedback button kills audio in au/cubasis3/ios 16 (have to reload au)
    -modulate modulators would be awesome.
    -more resonant filter types

this could also be part of a future delay/fx.
could imagine a big brother of quantum.
    anyway, nice work!

Can you send us a video to [email protected]? We are not able to replicate this here... Thanks!

    You read my mind ;)

Yes, as you said, there is always room for more, maybe in the future ;)

  • @gsdsp - Really nice and very reasonably priced. Always love your stuff.

  • would it be possible to make the fine delay keytrack to a midi sidechain input? 😀

  • Thanks @ALB !

@Birdpie This is something I want to be able to do in the future but as a workaround you could try using the Pitch Follower?
